Wow! That is a bunch of great spottings there and I thought the new BMW M5 I saw on Saturday was pretty special.

Driving the VT Roadster with a cigar? Ruining the damn car, I say :grumpy:

A fine cigar, no less. Eventually he pulled into Holiday Inn and parked in the front, in a spot reserved for guests checking in:

I decided to quit following him at that point. :D

Morgan Aero 8
Ferrari 360 Spyder
Corvette Stingray (Kit car?)

Seen at Exeter Kit Car Show last weekend. The Aero 8 was in the show area for kit cars but wasn't an actual kit car, as far as i could tell it was genuine and had just been let in to show off! (Someone correct me on this if i'm wrong, i have no idea how to tell it apart from the genuine car!) The Ferrari was in the carpark a few rows down from my car. The Stingray was a kitcar i think (again, someone correct me if it's genuine) but still a nice car nontheless.

i seen my mates mk3 ibiza cupra r the other day 1 of only 250 made( if people say they see loads of them then they arent real ones as there is a few lookalikes out there)....he didnt see me though :(

That's what I said it was in the first place. :odd: But that goes against two very obvious things:
- That's a Michelin display booth. Michelin had a significant part in developing the car. I would hope they know an LM when they have one.
- We've all established that McLaren does a fair amount of customization, and I can easily point out a number of awkwardly customer-modified F1's. That means that the color, wheels, and aero package are not exactly the right things to go by when determining spec level.

The extremely low production numbers on this car shouldn't make it hard to determine the full history of each car, but apparently it is. I've got the official book right in front of me (which I have actually read, word for word). And I've actually driven one (albiet briefly, 10 years ago). It's not as though I'm pulling this out of thin air....

It's not an LM. That McLaren on the stand is a customized F1. We've talked about this on AutomotiveForums.com. Yes, the book explains everything except WHO owns the cars. And actually they are. There are extremely few modifications. The aero package is the easiest way to tell. This has the aero package.

End of story this is a F1 with an optional Aerodynamic Package. This is not a LM. The color is not right, the wheels are not right, the intakes on the front are too tall, the rear side intake is not there, and the spoiler is not right.

This is the said F1.

F1 LM.

BTW, it would also have the F1 LM banner.

It'd be nice if we saw your own pics because no offense, but I find it hard you saw all 3 of those in just 2 days.

BTW M5, there's actually around 300 VT Roadsters all together, and about 200 make up the pop head light models, built from 1995 to 1998.

OH SNAPS!!

Agreeing with Mclaren, I find it a little tough to believe you found all 3 of these on the street. you were at an event or there was one very near by, I'd consider the chances of seeing these 3 somewhere around 400 mil to 3. Probably more like 100 mil to 3 if in Europe.

Morgan Aero 8

Great post!

The Morgan singled out above is 100% factory Morgan. No kit. Not one bit. Nada.

It's a standard Aero 8 in Aegean Blue (I think) and Silver highlights at a £1025 extra and the Carbon composite hard-top at £2500 each.

I think.

I was in Ipswich today and, naturally, there were some hot cars around.
I spotted a tricked out Supra, it was dark green/blue with a large, angled tip, and sounded real smooth.
And I heard a 'rex, didn't see it, but I am 100% sure it was a 'rex, I know that sound

I'm sure this is a genuine Corvette - i bet it would cost you more to make a kit of a vette than it would to buy one, even in the UK.

I just checked the production numbers of the 240SX I saw the other day:

1992 - 2327
1993 - 4602
1994 - 1391

Not sure on the year, could someone identify the year of it?

One of those. I see 240SX convertibles every so often; my most recent sighting was a bit over two weeks ago, also red. Very rare cars indeed. I used to go crazy when I saw them, but indeed numbers aren't that low. Still - a gorgeous, rare ragtop.

Wait... that B Enginneering thing is actually real ?

I thought it was some bull that HotWheels made up!

Yep. There's quite a few more than people think. 1 is registered in Monaco, and the most seen ones are the orange, and red ones though pictures of a blue one surfaced a long time ago.

BTW, it would also have the F1 LM banner.

Because this is bugging the hell out of me, can you tell me why, even though it's not a real LM?

Trio!!! "After all was said and done, It was right for you to run!"

Mercedes-Benz CLS55 AMG - I posted a white one a few weeks ago, but I'm pretty sure this is a different one...I think.
BMW M5 - nice, but where the hell are my M6's?!?
BMW 635CSi - also nice, but not the one I was looking for.

I've decided the M6 doesn't actually exist. I've seen four; they're just rebadged 650s. After all, who would be dumb enough to pay $95k for a car that's competing with - yet nowhere near as good as - the Porsche 911?

Then why pay $100K for a V8 Vantage? Why $120K plus for a Maranello when the E63 is shown that it can set statistics as good as they?

For people with this cash, a lot of it has to do with posing. Everyone's got a Porsche. An Aston-Martin... that's different.

Either way - the M6 is a load of crap.

Agreed, obviously, but you have to remember who's taking the picture and where the picture was taken!

I guess the 911 GT3 997 is a load of crap too. It has a 4.1 0-60 same as the M6. The Aston Martins must be too. And the F430 must be crap too. The E63 M6 is only 1 second behind it in the QTR mile. 360 CS must be too.

If the M6 is crap to you, then a lot of cars must be crap too because it can match a lot of performance vehicles.

Stats are paper, the road is real, there is a difference, considering M6 has iDrive. :yuck:

iDrive don't mean jack **** in its performance. Everyone complains about "how hard it is". Read the stupid manual. Everything is explained. Hell, I figured it out in seconds.

What the hell is this attack?! Did you have a bad day, or something!? Come on man - you have to agree with my point here. The M6 is one of the more unbelievably pointless vehicles on Earth. If you disagree, check out these stats:

Length:
- BMW M6: 190.2"
- Porsche 911 S: 175.6"

Width:
- BMW M6: 73.0"
- Porsche 911 S: 71.2"

Height:
- BMW M6: 54.1"
- Porsche 911 S: 51.6"

Weight:
- BMW M6: 3909lbs
- Porsche 911 S: 3075lbs

Price:
- BMW M6: $96,100
- Porsche 911 S: $81,400

0-60:
- BMW M6: 4.7sec
- Porsche 911 S: 4.6sec

Handling:
- BMW M6: see "weight"
- Porsche 911 S: awesome

I'm sorry - I truly see no point for the M6 given these stats. It's a pig, it doesn't handle as well as the 911, it doesn't accelerate as well either, and worst of all, it's $15k more expensive. Yeah, it's more practical, but since you're taking all the other tradeoffs... why not just get an M5? The M6 just makes no sense.
