As much as I love the H1 and RWD H2 classes, I really hope they start mixing up the community events a little more. :indiff:

I haven't had any Racenet issues over the last couple days though so hopefully that means they got the issue fixed for good.

Are you playing on ps4? I experience dark graphics on interior camera, what about you?

I'd say there's good reason for this - the game (standard version) has only just released so they want to give people time to get credits to afford the faster cars.

I understand that, but there are more "cheaper" classes than those 2. Both FWD H2 and H3 can be had for under 100,000 and unless I've missed the event neither have been featured yet.

Ok... so I decided and go for this new game. I just ran two career races (with lancia) and the feelings are... strange.. I could not figure out a good FFB configuration, since I using g29 wheel. The game looks good, it s a shame that new content will be available on paid dlc.
Can someone share a good FFB config? I m running the game on ps4.

I set a couple of things to 130. Compared to DR1 I miss the road information. I hope that comes back. A lot of people are missing that.

I just had a go at Dirt Rally to compare FFB. If I don't crank up the suspension setting it feels quite similar to DR2.

I pretty much always only use the SAT effect. The suspension setting sure adds jolts from landing and the odd pothole, but mostly it just creates way too much gravel rattle through the wheel which imo is not very realistic.

I understand that it feels numb if you are used to running high suspension effects as suspension effects hardly adds anything in DR2. For me that always keeps that at zero even in DR, it really doesn't feel that different. The SAT is there.

What is SAT effect?

I agree that overall DR2 feels pretty good when you race it a while. I think I am getting used to the it.

Sorry, Self Aligning Tourqe. To me it's by far the most important effect when it comes to tell me what the car is doing.

I see. I thought it was Saturation, that one has been on my mind lately.

Does the SAT goes to 0 when you do a big jump? I have to try that tonight.

Same here, sometimes too dark to use the interior camera. I'm on PS4, as well.

Speaking of which, shame about the poor visibility of the Fiesta R2 interior view, also. The large windshield banner blocks most of the view, making it especially difficult to see over crests... which can be a big issue at high speeds.

I'm currently on the fence if I had to choose between DR1 or 2.

It's obvious that It's too soon to render personal judgment after just a couple of days hands on with the new instalment, but as of now, and even taking into consideration DR1 gravity issue and what happened most of the times when you put a wheel out of the main course or simply touched an edge, for now I'm definitely liking DR1 gravel physics a lot more.

Right now the way I see it, I think the perfect dirt rally game would be achieved through the combination DR1 physics with the behaviour of your car on DR2 when you touch road edges or put one wheel outside it.

Should point out that I play these games on a controller, no wheel, as handbrake is mandatory and I don't have one.

I don't think a HB is mandatory at all really. I've been having issues with mine so I've spent a great deal without one. You can use a button on the wheel if you have to, just takes some time getting used to.

Probably realistic though. Have you ever seen WRC in car coverage ? Not sure how they drive with such a small amount of windscreen to see through.

My career just got reset for the second time. The first time I was like, oh well **** happens, they'll work it out. Now I'm beginning to join the ranks of doubters on whether or not they are going to support this game and fix this or not. My question is, has this happened to any of you console players or is this a pc exclusive?

Yeah, for sure. Could say the same about the poor visibility in most LMP1/LMP2 cars, too.

The difference being you as a player are looking through a pretty small window(TV/screen) and through that window there is another little window among all the interior of the car. :P

This is why I always play with with the "dash" view instead of the "cockpit" view. It's one of the little features I appreciate most about the recent DiRT games. On too many games, the interior uselessly takes up 2/3 of the screen.

Sadly they reverted that dash cam further back this time, so it's pretty much a fixed cockpit cam.

Nothing that can't be fixed on PC though.

I'm guessing the first set of DLC is next week? Just by going the season schedule, week 1 as next week.

Nevermind figured it out myself, really wish they launched the whole class of cars instead of giving us 2 and then wait and then the next 2.

Yeah 12th March for the first part of season 1. About 2 weeks away. Would be nice if it was the whole class but at least the Fabia is new to the series and the C4 will be good fun to drive as a more modern WRC weapon.

I m running time trials just to check cars and stages. But when I go to set the weather, I can’t select rainy day on rallycross circuits. Is it ok? Options available are: sunny, cloudy (with wet track)

Time trial is all leaderboard based stuff. Similar to Forza rivals. Each stage/track effectively has a dry and a wet leaderboard for each class of car in the game.

So no reply = pc only problem?

I figured out what is wrong with the FFB, only the self-aligning torque and collision actually does anything, all of the other sliders do nothing regardless of what setting they are at, also believe the soft-lock feature doesn't work which is why I find some cars are 1/1 steering and others are really off.

Wheel/Tire friction requires Damper to be set to on in your wheels profiler. If it's at zero you will feel nothing.

When it comes to Soft Lock, did you calibrate the wheel with 900 degrees? For Soft Lock to work properly you need 900 in profiler and 900 calibrated in the game. Saturation shall be at 100 and Soft Lock set to ON.

From reports I have seen from various forums and social media platforms it has hit people across all platforms, all geographical regions and with all types of internet connections. The issue looks to have has subsided significantly in the last two days.

Thanks, yeah that makes sense, mine were several days apart and I haven't had a "could not connect to racenet since Tuesday maybe?
