The USA was part of the inaugural WRC in 1973. There have been five different USA WRC rounds, just none of them recent.

And those US rounds were held in Michigan which may have been the reason for including it in DiRT4 at least.

And well, we can safely say that ‘New England’ is just reworked material from D4. There are clues in 2.0 that confirm it.

Do not really understand why they selected rallies like USA which do not have any wrc heritage.
Doesn't need to have WRC heritage to be featured in a rally game, though, WRC isn't the only rally organization on the planet. New England is home to the New England Forest Rally, which is a decently popular venue, along with other rallies as a part of Rally America.

Where else can you see the name Solberg still on a Subaru in official capacity in rally today, with a classic, legendary livery. That must count for something!

Swedish flag? Was Oliver not born in Norway like his father?

Yeah, i know. Just 5 rounds from 1973 is nothing. It Is not so relevant and not even iconic. I mean i have the same opnion about Poland, Just a bad rally selection overall considering how many the could pick.

Usa is a location I like a lot but as long as it is similar to those from colin3 and 5 or whatever. I don't like this "·Dirt" Michigan, but well neither do I like the feeling I get in these rallies in borth dirt4 and now dr2. I like neither the way they look like nor the way they're designed at all.

It is damn usa. It sure needs to host amazing locations for rally. Could you imagine a rally in the Frontier with Canada, rocky mountains or something something down in those valleys in the middle of the winter?, that would be a dream rally, and the night stages over there would be just like another level

1973-74 was Michigan. It all came to an end after the infamous incident where a sheriff chased a Stratos into a live stage, attempting to make a traffic stop for excessive speed on the preceding road section.

1986-88 was in Washington State. A little known trivia point is that the final time Group B cars ever ran before being outlawed was in the USA.

Really enjoy following these rallies. The speed and flow is just insane. Big call I know, but I feel Oliver is a going to be World Champ, simply a stunning driver. Already has Nordic rally, Rallycross and Crosskart wins. Time to wrestle that M1 and Manta.

The M1 procar has surprised me, was expecting it to be a massive handful on the pad but it's actually really nice to drive.

I had a quick go in both of the cars earlier, and I absolutely hated the M1. It drives kind of like the RUF Yellowbird from GT5/GT6. It does sound pretty sweet though. Manta wasn't too exciting, but at least it handled better.

^My God these posts are pure gold. Thank you so much

I was actually expecting it to behave incredibly well even on gravel, as this car always performs soo good in every game it gets featured. I wasn't mistaken at all eventually.

Back to the game, the headlights on the M1 don’t work. Someone at Codemasters didn’t realize they pop up, and made the fogs the headlights :dunce:

Both cars on the same stage. Wasn't very tidy in the BMW as I was driving like the Manta and hadn't setup the braking to my liking like I did in the daily event.

I guess this is the only car that has pop-up headlamps in the game, so it's simply not worth the effort to make it work like original.

The Stratos has concealed headlamps as part of its design, but since they’re always open my point is moot. :)

How come the Adam has a classic white Opel livery with stripes but the Ascona 400 and Manta 400 don't, despite representing the era in which that livery was relevant? :ouch:

Is it my imagination or did the VW Polo not actually get it's new livery? It says the VW Polo S1600, and I've checked both VW and none of them have the Season 1 livery. So...
