Make sure the car is upgraded. Engine upgrades alone give you 20+ seconds per Stage.

I find that hard to believe, I've never really noticed any difference in performance after upgrading the ECU

Current Daily with heavy rein in Poland. I quitted, undoable. I hope the rain graphics will be updated. Light rain is OK. Heavy rain is not.

It varies per class but is very noticeable in FWD Classes in particular.

Still, I haven't noticed any real difference. I've been in the top 10 (global leaderboard results) with untuned cars quite a few times, and I didn't notice any real performance jump when I fully upgraded my Fiesta, for example.

Best I've managed in a fully stock car was global 3rd in Group A daily. I don't think I could have won that stage with ECU upgrades. On the other hand, if I didn't roll my car, I probably could have

Yep the heavy rain in today's daily was a bit streaky. I feel it's designed a bit like that to reduce your visibility, creating a sense of realism, and make you rely solely on the co-driver calls, but it can be over the top with the white stripes. Driving in heavy rain sucks in reality too, I reckon, even worse if you're against a clock.

I agree, but this is meant to be quality time, hence I bail out.

I had a problem too, but I thought the rain was glitching on mine it was so thick (I've had glitched rain before, when I first played the game, sadly my screenshots to prove it were lost when my HDD went kaput). I ended up damaging my lights by mistake and it made the rest of the stage impossible.

Planning to pick this game up, and I need your opinions.

I'm playing DiRT4 on Pro difficulty, and I'm in the top 5 most of the time. Do you guys think I can play this on the easiest difficulty?

Be honest with me. :P

Yes you can play this game on the easiest difficulty. I have no idea if you are going to be good at it because that is not what you asked. You literally asked is you can play this on the easiest difficulty. :D

I said Argentina was bumpy as hell, well Australia isn't far behind. And then Poland is a little behind that.

Somewhere in the last update they changed the grid sound effects for the worse. Used to be somewhat subtle clang that sounded realistic, but now it’s overdone like someone threw it into the backseat. And that’s when it actually makes the sound effect. Surprised of all things to change considering there wasn’t a massive outcry about it.

I think i won't platinum the game.. the Trophy asking for 10 completed stages in Argentina does not pop-up. Pity, i ha e done tje hardest Trophy with the quattro and now this bug.

Have you tried running 10 Stages in Free Play?

That wasn't one of the known bugged Achievements on Xbox.

I've just got the Quattro Achievement left and I'll have completion. Bug's fixed but there hasn't been a non-Deluxe Daily yet in Group B 4WD.

No, only mt team mode, I will try in free mode, then i will do all the rest. At the end i Will reset the profile and start from zero.

I have read in a Trophy guide that you have to complete 10 different stages. Probably i encountered the same stages all over again in the career mode.

Hower just got upgraded thus i completed my team section trophies.

Can't wait to run a full 12 events x 12 stages championship in custom mode once they will release all the stuff.

Sweden is very white and bright. At times it's hard to tell where the road is.
Yep it's tricky, especially going into sunlight, trying to work out the line, when everything is covered in snow. Much like url i imagine. I'd like to remove a bit of glare often, I need a 'wearing sunglasses' button. Yellow ones for snow thanks.

At least I don't remember it being particularly difficult to see the Swedish roads in the first game. I suspect it has something to do with how DR2.0 deals with light because the New England and Poland stages can look exceptionally dark in places. I don't know, maybe it is more realistic now. No big deal regardless.

Looks like I'm no longer in the need of switching camera before entering the check at the end of a stage. Yes bumper camera here. Thank you Codemasters..., just three patches to get the road mesh fixed on bumper cam..

I can still notice so many oddities with the the physics though. I'm constantly switching between dr2 and 1 back and forth, and anytime I return to the first instalment even with the low downforce issue affecting it, it feels like returning home. Everything flows so natural; cars feel good, and the weight transfer feels epic.

Why couldn't they just update dr1 with more rallies?, the problem with dr2 has a name, and that's dr4 heritage, as well as this "tyre simulation" they have attempted with this tittle, which calling it just "bugged" or "messed" would be putting it too soft. And then this Jesus Christ wide wideee field of view even on bumper camera at zero slider position.., ok codies ookkk

I’m not too thrilled about Sweden just yet, but I am curious to see how it is with the new handling physics after trying out Monte Carlo’s snow sections. It was my least favorite stage in DR1 for sure, it’s just so narrow and slippery (duh) making it damn near impossible for me to drive RWD cars.

On a related note, I wish in the snow sections of Monte Carlo (and Sweden) the cars would rev a bit more with auto transmission (I’m bad with manual setting). The cars seem to shift too soon, presumably to minimize wheel spin for more control, making it harder to slide around even with traction and stability off.

Snow banks doesn't have the magnetic effects anymore. But the snow us really white/bright especially with sun shining on the track, cant see much of racing line. But all in all really enjoyable

Tried out Sweden in the daily challenge (yesterday) with the BMW M1 and was surprised how much more in control I was with the car than I expected. Didn’t feel a whole lot different than being on gravel, really, and wasn’t nearly as slippy as I thought. I quite liked it!
