That's the problem non believers have, obviously so, hence the reason non believing.
Nope - that'd require non-believers to believe in both God and Satan. Non-believers don't believe in either, by definition.
DCP
Anyway, the Bible confirms God is just and true
... and you still didn't answer how you know the Bible itself is not a deception...
DCP
Satan comes in the form of an angel to deceive people, yes
He doesn't appear to be very creative in his deceit if you always know what form he's going to be in...

@Imari

Must I thank the clients that have given me the change to treble my wages, or thank their suppliers all over the world?

Are you making my point for me, or what?

You don't make any sense...

Oh, the irony. Thou dost slay me with thine irony.

As much as it may have been tough at my previous job, I was still grateful to have a job, and still asked God to bless the people around me, even in their bad ways.

Yeah, what a bunch of :censored:holes, what with their giving you time off and paying you while you were sick and stuff. That's just horrible. I don't know how you found it in your heart to ask God to bless such heathens, but that must be because you're a better man than I.

Can someone reach the switch on my back and turn sarcastic mode off? It's gotten stuck again.

You've never asked God to bless anyone around you...

You might want to be careful when you tell me what I have and haven't done. I'm pretty sure I know what I've done better than you do.

If I'm with religious people, I'll happily and wholeheartedly take part in any blessings with them. Just because I don't believe anyone is listening, doesn't mean that I can't ask. It costs me nothing to ask, and makes the people around me happy.

...because you agree with Darwin and science that He doesn't exist.

I'll say this again, and maybe it will sink in. You do not understand science.

I have no evidence that God exists, and so in the absence of evidence I conclude that he does not exist. If tomorrow I am presented with evidence of God's existence, I will change my mind.

Oddly, in however many pages we've been going at this now, you're yet to provide any evidence for God beyond the Bible. Which as many people have explained to you multiple times, is not considered by rational people to be adequate evidence for the existence of God. As seen by your current debate with Famine, where your reasoning appears to be "because the book said so!"

@DCP

How do you know Satan didn't write the bible and send Jesus?

Darwin said so...:)

Nope - that'd require non-believers to believe in both God and Satan. Faith, and trusting in Gods promise. I totally understand that you won't know what that means though.

I hope you feel better with your sarcasm. They usually count against you.
Like I've said many times, the evidence is all you see, since that didn't come from nothing...:) That's your logic, whether you accept it or not. It has nothing to do with science.

Faith, and trusting in Gods promise.
That'd be God's promise as written in the Bible, right?

So again, how do you know that the Bible isn't a deception from Satan?
DCP
I totally understand that you won't know what that means though.
Why do you think that? Do you think that you're more capable of understanding things than other people?

One word: YES! :)

Here are the lyrics to one of my favorite, if not my favorite, worship song.

"This Is Amazing Grace"

[Verse 1:]
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
And leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

[Chorus:]
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You lay down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You've done for me

[Verse 2:]
Who brings our chaos back into order
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter
The King of Glory, the King of Glory

Who rules the nations with truth and justice
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

[Chorus]

[Bridge:]
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy, worthy, worthy
Oh

[Chorus]

That'd be God's promise as written in the Bible, right?

So again, how do you know that the Bible isn't a deception from Satan? Why do you think that? Do you think that you're more capable of understanding things than other people?

Yes.

There wouldn't be a need for satan to invent religions that take away what Christ did for them, as well as twist the free gift of salvation. All religions promise you paradise right, but how simple it is to say good deeds and sacrifices will get you there. I could cut a chicken and offer it to god every week and that would be enough, right? Wrong.

The God of the Bible cannot be bribed. The Bible makes it very clear that God searches the heart, and that His Son is the Redeemer. Actions don't work for the God of the Bible.

You said before that you don't believe or have faith, because only evidence speaks for you. So you won't understand receiving God and His Word by faith.

@gamermaniac55
Phil Wickham is truly anointed....:)

Uh-huh.

Everyone else here is "arrogant" for not believing in God, but believing you're smarter than everyone isn't arrogant. Whew.

A "need"?

I'll just remind you that you have been decrying everything that does not fit your interpretation of the message of the Bible as a deception from Satan - I didn't see any hint of a "need" there.

The fact is that you can't know that the Bible isn't a deception from Satan too.

Then that would suggest that because you only believe and have faith, you won't understand evidence. Since evidence is the bedrock of knowledge, that would mean you are literally calling yourself ignorant.

However, understanding something and accepting it to be true are two completely different concepts. I understand the idea of faith and trusting a higher being who might actually be evil and misleading you, but I don't accept it.

I notice DCP has still failed to answer my incredibly easy question, but I'll throw another one out there.

If someone promised you a million dollars (or some large amount), which they would give to you after washing their car and painting their house, would you accept?

That's the beauty of free will. No one is forced.

What if he brought a book explaining how trustworthy he was, written by multiple people?

Sorry to disappoint you Dylan, but this is going no where.

But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. 27"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.…

You could physically snatch me out of His hands, but my soul belongs to Him.

This is a quote from the movie God's Not Dead.

"People ask if God created the universe, who created God? Well we can turn this question around on them. If the universe created itself, who created the universe?"

And I agree with @DCP . Religion is a choice, not a chore. You can choose to believe in God, or not. You can choose to be Muslim, or Jewish, or any other religion. I just want everyone to get along, and not have any huge brawls over who's right and who's wrong. I just want people to believe what they believe, and be able to accept other people's viewpoints.

It had potential to go somewhere, but you put on your blindfold and closed your doors and windows.

Really, instead of telling me a conversation will go nowhere, why don't you show me, by finishing it. It's a really really easy question.

Otherwise I don't see how you can continue to have discussions on a discussion forum when a key part of discussion is actually responding to questions.

@dylansan

Okay fine, I'll play along.:) No disrespect.

What if he brought a book explaining how trustworthy he was, written by multiple people?

What book? The Bible

No, just a book written by some people describing how generous and trustworthy this man is. Religion isn't a part of this scenario. He's just a person.

There's your problem, it was a massive steaming pile of crap of a movie.

I'm sorry but it simply isn't a choice.

Just now, I decided to believe in God. I told myself, God is real. But I didn't believe it. I was lying to myself.

I am not convinced that god is real. Nothing has convinced me. It is not my choice to be convinced, it happens automatically. No matter how much I tell myself, it's not true unless I have seen evidence of it. And to date, I have seen none.

Yes, satan made that very clear when he wrote the bible. He also went through the trouble of coming to earth and calling himself Jesus so that he could convince people to follow him.

See, the thing is, Satan really doesn't want us to allow gay couples to file one tax return. It's a huge pet peeve of his. So he invented the bible and all of the religions that follow it (Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Mormonism, probably more), in an attempt to prevent gay people from filling married jointly. He figured that if he went through the trouble of appearing as Christ and writing to the bible, that thousands of years later people would interpret those words to mean that gay people cannot legally marry and that would give the great deceiver exactly what he's always wanted... two tax returns per gay couple.

Don't you see? You're playing right into Beelzebub's hands! By believing in God and Jesus, you've allowed yourself to help Satan prevent gay people from being able to check the box at line 2 of the 1044 (or 1044 EZ depending on whether you're itemizing your deductions). His unholy plan is coming to fruition!

Atheism, Evolution, Satanism and Buddhism.
Oh, and he can't appear as Christ.

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds

He wrote that so you'd think that.

Also.. how do atheism and evolution (neither of which are religions) follow the bible?
