Do you think Sport owners should have the option to import their garage?

Again, why does it matter why they offered these things? The fact that they offered them is all the evidence you need that they don't care if people don't start from nothing, as you inferred is the only way to play the game because that's what PD offer. Clearly they offer other options. Which is exactly what a car import would be. Now you've seemingly gone back to just saying they should not allow it for....no particular reason?

You made up that PD didn't like offering all those incentives but were forced to do it and "learned to like it". You have zero evidence of that.
You are really anoying me with changing the things that I wrote. I do not claim that they didn't like it. This is just based on the fact that they at first did not do it but when they saw other games did it and they earned extra money with it, PD also did it.

I said numerous times by now why they should not allow transfers, do you want me to repeat it in every post because otherwise you might think I have no reason?

According to Kaz, he doesn’t look at what other games are doing.

Anyway, he changed to esports for GT Sport and we still got an option(probably due to Sony) to start the game with or without cars and credits. Plus, as a function of Sport Mode, you get a choice to as a form of cheat others, by signing a contract for two free cars, before those that don’t sign a contract. Players should buy those cars and not just virtually sign for them. Is this something you’d prefer?

Seriously? After all I said about transferring your own cars, you really think that I'm a fan of microtransitions?

Special editions are only made to grab more money out of our pockets, so they have to include something to make it worth it. Those exclusive editions were free for us but do you really think Amazon doesn't have to pay Sony for the exclusivity of selling those editions? If you want to pay extra for those 'exclusive' cars, go ahead. I don't like it and I think PD doesn't like it either. But because they earn extra money with it, they learned to like it.
Mmm. 🤔

I did ask Kazunori Yamauchi about GT Sport data transfer during my interview with him but just realized I forgot to mention it in the article. Sorry about that...

His answer was, "No, we have not considered doing that because we'd really like people to experience it from from the ground up."
Assuming this is for money and garage... would it affect livery/decal data? I don't think creators want to make/import their stuff again twice.

So, that’s cool he can confirm that. However, we don’t know what package(s) may be offered come release date. I think the website shows in-game purchases are optional. Players may still have the choice to buy certain cars as a form of cheat.

Well that could have been helpful a few pages back. 🙄 😄

Did you get to ask about the livery editor, and whether the GT Sport designs are transferable to GT7 by any chance?

That's a really good question, but no, I did not think to ask it.

If you do get the chance to ask in the future, could try to find out whether the uploaded decals for GT Sport will be carried over to GT7, as well as any liveries created in GT Sport. Thanks. :) It would be nice to not have to start from scratch with either.

Also, having lost access to editable liveries after online data corruption, has the option of a backup on users consoles. 😉 I suspect no for all of it, but you never know. 🙂

They’ve actually been giving us pretty large head-starts via credits or high end cars, or even allowing access to cars without even playing the game for some extra money, for the better part of two decades now. It’s nothing new so I’m not sure why you’re pretending. Whether they got the idea from someone else or not changes nothing.

After reading this, how hard is it than to believe that those microtransactions, special editions and giftcars are more a mandatory thing from Sony and the big retailers?

I think it is clear now what PD/Kaz really thinks about this. The only free way to get a head start is if you do all the licence tests first and use your reward cars in career mode. And they should probably limit that too. Like you can only start iA if you have at least won 5 races in iB and so on...

Are we seriously back in the same nonsensical circle of gatekeeping how people play the game under the same noise of "That's how you are supposed to play" while ignoring the many options there actually is to play?

That’s alright. Someone will find out the Lancer Evo IV qualifies to enter a beginners race and blitz the field for easy credits, to advance the next tier. I mean, if PD didn’t want people to play the game like that, they wouldn’t have put it in that way. Simples.

I don't much mind one way or another. I don't mind if I can't import my close to the limit liveries either, the new LE looks so much better.

But I would really like that the Decals carried over.....

I'm hoping we'll at least transfer our uploaded decals, but as far as transferring our actual GTS garage, I think it'd really kill the ideal pacing of GT7. Then again, I can't say I'd complain if we ended up being able to transfer everything we've obtained in GTS, especially since I already own the majority of cars in GTS.

Not being able to import them is a major letdown. A lot of those cars are damn expensive. It's not like it's a f2p game either...

I'd be perfectly fine with being unable to import them, considering that I didn't really "earn" most of the cars I have in Sport, instead winning them in the Daily Workout spin. I wouldn't mind winning them in events, buying them from dealerships, and/or searching through the Used Car Dealership/Brighton Antiques for them.

I feel the same way. I've been playing for quite some time now and still have dozens of cars left to buy. All cost 1 million or more. Fine with me, as that is a fair price. But several cars being 20 million and only getting **** in the daily rewards, day after day? The fun stops when you have to grind...

Moreover, how likely is it that Polyphony is going to force people to buy Group vehicles for use in Sport mode in GT7? It boggles my mind that they aren't all unlocked for use in GTS in Sport Mode.

I'm sure some people will want the "thrill" of starting fresh but those of us with limited time should have the option to import our garage IMO. I'm about 99% sure every Sport car will make the roster for 7.
I think the should give the option to transfer about a million or so credits, and transfer your liveries. I don't believe the actual garage should be able to be transferred, and if so, it should be only a couple random cars.

If someone started off with the series with GT Sport they would know that this is false because by that point it was the third game that PD offered a way to "change the way you play career mode."

Make that fourth.

The people who think that Polyphony still cares about making you start from scratch are getting absolutely played. Again. Yeah, getting the limited edition and starting with 1,100,000 credits and four cars off the hop is definitely 'starting from scratch'.

No.
I want to start with a 20.000cr car and work my way up again!

Why would I want to import the 200 duplicates that I have and can't be bothered to delete?
You can sell them. Just will not get any credits for the prize cars. You can sell the ones you bought though.

Damn, evil Sony making PD give cars and credits away again. What monsters.
How dare PD intend us to play the game from scratch yet give us a bunch of options to not start from scratch. Don't they know this is not the way they intend people to pay the game?
