Do you want GT6 for both PS3+PS4

As I recall polyphony digidal has two teams now. I can see the logic in having the small team modding gt5 with the gt6 content and having the big team consentrating on the ps4 version. Why? Simple, PD like making money. They like it very much. So much in fact that it makes perfect sence to make two versions. One on ps3 to make sure they make a lot of money (70+ million install base), and a tour-the-force extreme edition for the ps4, which will not make much money due to small install base, but will be a Great showpiece to ensure that everyone knows who's the KING of driving games...

That said. I know what version I will be buying...hehehe...hmmm what if the ps3 version comes long before the ps4 one... hmmm... then I guess I will be buying two versions. More fun for me, and more money to PD. Everyone wins... Except my bank account... oh well. I guess you can't have everything, sigh... hehehe

I can also see the ps3 edition of gt6 coming out before the ps4 edition, and a lot of gtfans complaining that they have to start over on the ps4. PD and Sony can then come out and say that you will be able to transfer the ps3 save over to ps4. Given that you are a PSPlus member... DOH!!! Sony makes a lot of money due to a flood of new psplus members, you get to not-have-to-start-over and you bank account takes a beating...again... DOH! hehehe

I hope for PS4 GT, I have enough PS3 with its limitations, on my 55" TV and 6m full HD projected screen I can see lot of blocky shadows that roughly cut the delicate shades of any GT5 track scene. And I can only imagine what else should be better on new system. I will trade my PS3, initial entry model of PS4 is going to be significantly cheaper that PS3 and it deserves to be launch title even if weak on car/track content, which is certainly further now than GT5 is. PD, go with new system, please.

Aren't you forgetting *Cough*GT3*Cough*.They don't need to hurt the GT series more on PS3,the PS4 is a god send and their retribution tool,Kaz said the PS4 is relatively easy to develop for (PC architecture and no Cell processor B.S. might be the cause). If they release GT6 on the PS4 they will still move games and more importantly consoles like GT3 did in 2001 (It isn't the best selling GT game for no reason). The two versions theory you mentioned makes no sense because when you start to look at it,neither we or PD need the game on both systems as there are gigantic differences both gameplay and hardware wise between PS3 and PS4,they will end up losing more than winning if they go that route (more money, more of their soul,etc.).They will never be the same game if they're on both generations. Also I see no fun in buying a half game and then spending more money on both a game and console just for the full game (PS3 vs. PS4) and whatever else you want (Destiny looks awesome BTW :D).

Since they said GT6 will be on PS3, I'm hoping it isn't made for both. Unless the PS4 version is a whole lot better and has more features, tracks, cars, etc. I wouldn't even consider the PS4 version.
The last thing I want is to buy a whole new system and a game that's exactly the same as the PS3 version.

But it said "suggests and may" which is pretty much the same thing as "wish in one hand crap in the other and see which one fills up first" kind of speculation to me.

I've seen some great points made about how the availability of GT6 on the PS3 would negativity affect sales of the PS4, ergo in the big-picture it would not be in Sony's interest, (PS4 is the future and Sony would want their Big Gun's to transfer over quick. Considering how Sony are going about things this time suggests to me that they would want GT on the new system much sooner than last time) and it is a striking point! I personally think Kaz and the team had a Dev kit or at the absolute minimum detailed knowledge about the specs years ago! Probably before 5 was even made. In fact the more I think about it the more it makes sense that GT5 could of been produced on a synthetic beta program that can write code for the PS4, and then extracted for PS3 capabilities.

For this reason I think there was problems from the initial development of 5 to apply the coding and other aspects of the game into the PS3's Cell architecture! I assume downgrading was a primary issue in time management. The way GTHD and GT5P seemed different to the final production of the game. My theory on that was Kaz received news about System Specs for the future in 2008 and he tried to base a model around that but unfortunately ran out of time. That explains to me why the Cars were 'too detailed' and had to be scaled down etc!

But getting back to the original thread's point, it seems peculiar to me that assuming kaz knew when the PS4 was to be released he and the team hasn't released GT6 already. The groundwork has already been done! Making 6 on the PS3 would be like the FIFA and COD Franchise. Improvements on an already built model? So considering PD has not already released the game gives me the impression they have been working on GT6 for the PS4. Simon K made an excellent point on another thread, logically thinking why release a GT5 game on the PS3 when Forza 5 on the Nextbox is just around the corner! Fine for us purists, but I know what the casual driving/racing gamer would rather have!

( I may be completely wrong and it only mere speculation and my un-founded opinion)

Maybe GT6 could have released on PS3 two years after GT5 and GT7 on PS4 if GT5 had released in the state it's in now. It didn't however and I think PD felt a sense of pride in getting GT5 to an acceptable state. I respect that much more than abandoning a broken product only to release another a year or two later.

All this bizarre speculation is PD's fault. Forza fans know they can expect a new game every 2 years or so. Gran Turismo fans dont know if they have to wait 2 years or 5 years. If the next game is going to be mobile or for console. PS3 or PS4. Or both. We'll know at E3 but the idea it took 30 months for us to know is insane. PD should be very thankful GT5 was their first screwup and many fans are willing to be treated like crap to give them one more chance to see what they have in store.

Wow. O_o You sounded like you were annoyed there @Earth, but I do agree with you about all this speculation, I'm annoyed by it too myself.

I'm thinking that Sony guy who said GT6 would be on PS3 probably said that on purpose imo, to make us GT fans go nuts. Yoshida did say in one interview asked about GT6 that he likes all these speculations for games or this one... >__>

Yes at this point, I have come to a point where I have to cut down on my gaming as I will attend post secondary, I would very much wish to see gt6 on ps3 and ps4 so that I can actually purchase it but also see the craziness it could bring onto the ps4

It would be nice to gave GT6 on both PS3 and PS4 because it is the best sin racer across platforms and one could have another play through.

Not sure why you're bringing that up when he got two things wrong in that one statement.

SimonK, What do you think now? Still a PS4 release?...I´m confident in that being possible...but at a later date. I think they´ll release DriveClub at launch and a year later GT6.
Not saying that both games are related but it will be possible that Sony makes this to give it another year of development to GT6 and not milking their games releases. In this case both being racing games and exclusives.

But also they can make "the mistake" of releasing an "improved" GT5 for the PS3 (not in the visuals just features)...But don´t know.

1. GT6 is not a PS3 game- it was developed for the next playstation (reveal at E3, launching 2014) from the beginning.

PS3 GT6 with features that aren't feasible unless it's on the PS4. "think again" could have meant that GT6 would be released earlier than the superior in every way PS4 version of GT6. My feeling is that they'll be releasing GT6 early, then next year, however long it will be after the PS3's GT6 release, they'll release a hyperdrive version of GT6 on the PS4.

People keep on bringing up the opinion that Sony or Polyphony Digital won't release Drive Club and PS4 as launch titles. It's not out of the question, but Toronado made me second-guess my viewpoint. Still, we know NOTHING about PD's development of ANY game that they will be releasing in the near future. Nothing being speculated is set in stone until the official reveal of GT6 at E3 2013.

There's no reason to downplay what I've said when you're seemingly only looking at it from YOUR point-of-view, and not from a business and consumer-beneficial perspective. They took a good risk selling the PS3 at launch with the price of $600 USD. You're not speaking on behalf of Sony and Polyphony Digital since what their way of seeing it is "all" about the long run as it always has been.

You say GT5 was incomplete even after the 5-6 year development period, while I/Kaz say that they needed more time to simply add more content and in a structured way. Greatness isn't rushed, neither will the future decisions of Sony after the debacle that the PS3 and its "architecture" was and still is concerned.

Stop downplaying what you don't agree with and instead, add more/some input on all these subjects in which you're involving yourself in. 3D isn't a priority for the next PlayStation, what makes you think it isn't a priority for PD when they strive for realism. What other "games" with 3D are similar in that aspect? +20 years in the business of creating the GT series, and you think we all should expect Kaz isn't thinking about the fans and how they want it; no news whatsoever about PD's workforce and work on future games/ideas and still you're thinking the way you've always have. 99% of what you say is based on GT5. Very nice, keep doing what you're doing.

First, a GT6 version for the PS3 to appease those who won't be buying a PS4 at launch for lack of information and based on ONE fallacy of a game (in your mind). Then, they'll release a superior GT6 for the PS4 - which is, "Because the PS4 system is very simple, it's like having a blank canvas."

I think he called the PS4 a "blank canvas". to me, that sounds like they started with nothing.

He said that GT6 was based on the GT5 "operating system". To me that sounds like something.

Which means... We don't actually know what the hell they are doing.

But it's fun to speculate. :D
Yuuuuup. But also, Naaaaaah. I'm intentionally being vague.

Why not just call the PS4 version GT7?
...seriously, back off, you sarcastic and misleading towards me, "person". Prove to me, "person", that you're worthy of a serious response since you're so vindictive in a sense.

But, just..

What's the point of a PS3 release?

There isn't one.

Everybody says "Well it could be what GT5 was supposed to be, everything would be fixed and upped from GT5."

But if they're gonna do that, why don't they just do that on the PS4? Then they can:
A) Add a ton of content as DLC and not worry about system limitations.
B) Help drive sales for the PS4 and receive many sales due to the relatively small selection of PS4 games in the first few years.
C) Have an early jump on GT7, unless heaven forbid it ends up on the PS5.

A PS3 release simply doesn't make sense, financially, and by actual gameplay terms.

There's just so little, yet too much, to go by. Still, your reasoning is reasonable. Seriously.

FYI to Everybody, from "day one" I've said that I wanted GT6 to be on the PS4. Info., speculation and reasoning came into play ever since then.

“Look at the games coming out on the PlayStation 3 like The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, GT6, and then on the third-party side of things another fantastic Assassin’s Creed, GTA,” Denny listed."

And I'm supposed to believe that this guy actually has any idea what he's talking about?(Michael Denny that is)

I believe somebody asked the author if this was correct or not and it was possibly a mix-up. Possible info but I'm doubtful.

It's circumstantial but it's the only evidence we have.

People:
- want more Tracks, more Cars, more, more and more
- dont wanna buy PS4 and GT6 should be released on PS3.

Poeple are only thinking about them selfs lol ...

If you want to get the most out of the Game, then Gran Turismo 6 should be released on PS4.

If Gran Turismo 6 comes for PS4, it would be a BIG help for SONY.

Denny was asked again, and confirmed it?
That's what I meant, yup. It was in an article. I remember it being a FEMALE! asking him; she had it confirmed. I always try to bookmark any source that I may need in the future, but didn't care to do so since everybody was speaking all the different theories. I just didn't care, to put it simply.

Edit -
This isn't the source I was referencing, but listen to how he spoke when he named off those games...

IMO, releasing GT6 as PS4 launch title OR PS3 title this year makes no sense.

PS4 is going to launch this holiday season with DriveClub as a launchtitle. DC is a new IP, it would be madness to release a GT game for the PS3, which will without doubt break 10million sales, while DC and PS4 are "fighting" for every customer.

Sony should give DC some time to establish it self, with a bit of luck this game can pull in the NFS Shift/Grid crowd. Also, those guys at Evolution are very talented, Motorstorm games were awesome. They also hired alot of devs from the closed Studio Liverpool. Those guys know how to make a race game (+ very good single player campaings and great AI).

She didn't have it confirmed by speaking to him again, the original author simply confirmed it wasn't an error in the article and he did indeed say GT6. Unless you've seen an article nobody else has.
