Do you want GT6 for both PS3+PS4

I think at the moment it will depend how far away PDI are from being able to release a full GT game on PS4 with the quality level they will desire. If it is 1-2 years away after launch of PS4, then there should be a high chance of a PS3 game coming out. If it is ready closer to PS4 launch then I think for a PS3 version to come out, it will depend on server side of things and the desire of if they want it on both platforms or not. Pricing of PS4 might play apart. If it is around the £300-350 mark then the uptake on PS4s should be good that maybe PS3 version would not be neccessary as it would then will create a short term divide for GT players.

What they could potentially do is release a large GT game on PS3 and a small one on the PS4 too at launch but all depends on how far they have progressed.

I have been a strong, long held supporter of "I want it on PS3". :guilty:
But I too, now see the advantages of it being a PS4 release. Heck, if this new platform can live up to half the hype, GT6 will be absolutely AWESOME!

So, in closing and keeping on topic, I would say NO! Keep it as a NEW game for PS4 only.
If PD can give us a good DLC (even a freebie) to close out GT5 just prior to GT6 release, that would give people some extra play until they get GT6.

I agree because even though I would've liked it to be on PS3, PS4 has so much more potential and there would be no point of having it on PS3 aswell if they release Spec 3 a couple of months before GT6 because that would keep people entertained and Kaz said that he would release Spec 3 but that now seems unlikely.

I hope that we atleast get some type of GT6 Prolouge for PS4 launch. I don`t want to wait for the first GT game on that platform ages again.
I won`t retire my PS3 until a PS4 GT gets releases. Usually I always bought Wipeout at a playstation launch, but now Sony closed of the Wipeout studio there is nothing which will keep me entertained until GT releases... so... If GT6 isn`t ready for the first year of the PS4, atleast give us some kind of demo or prolouge...

You could just play, you know, other games.

I would want GT6 on PS3. If it was on the PS4 it would just end up as a guinea pig for the new system rather than sound improvements. I rather improve upon a good base that start from scratch and hope it works. Newer is not always better. Just my opinion.

For me that depends on the price of the PS4. Of the PS4 is around €350,- alot of people can/ want to afford it and it's better to make GT6 for PS4.
But if the PS4 is more expensive then a Veyron then alot of people would keep playing the PS3 so GT6 for PS3 and PS4 would be a smart move!

It doesn't matter. The thread is pointless because the whole discussion is unreasonable, it's really not even in the realm of possibility.

Just a question even if its not in the realms of possibility does that mean it can't be discussed?

Just a question.

Did you ever think to realize that this thread was created before the PlayStation meeting, and now that the PS4 has been confirmed and Kaz has been quoted saying "The PS4 is like a blank canvas" that this whole thread and all that's discussed is pointless as the question of the thread has now been pretty much answered? There's nothing to discuss that's on topic. GT6 should (and will) be on the PS4, so what's the point of still debating which system it will be released on?

I guess you didn't read my message above your post.

So you expect me to believe a 3rd party little site with no evidence that what they said is true?

Then explain why Kaz has talked about what it's like to work with the PS4, would you? And please go on as to how this little site has this info before anybody else in the world.

If GT6 is actually a PS3 game, it would partly explain why nothing of GT6 was shown at the PS4 announcement. Perhaps Kaz's mention of the PS4 being a "blank canvas" means that GT7 is being started from scratch for the PS4?

I'm still taking it with a grain of salt, but a PS3 release wouldn't surprise me.

It wouldn't? It sure would surprise me!

I mean, what can they possibly do on the PS3? GT5 is struggling big time, so there's simply no room for improvement on the PS3.

I don't even understand why this thread is still alive. It's just plain rediculous to think it's a PS3 title.

It doesn't make any sense of course, but this is PD we're talking about.

Well they interviewed him, and he let slip about GT6. Blank canvas is chance to start a fresh, ideas without needing to think about limitations as much like with PS3. GT6 for PS3 could be like what GT4 was for PS2. Perfect game to use to show that PS3 is not being forgotten. There is a huge userbase still there and it is now a console that is much more profitable. Also with potentially a new cheaper PS3 being released sometime this year or next, it will become the budget console PS2 replacement in this market for Sony with top games still coming out for it.

I highly agree. Since Kaz seems to REALLY like the PS4 a lot, why would he even want to make GT6 on both PS4 and PS3? Just make GT6 on only PS4, PS3 is just to hard to develop games on nowadays... What's the point?

Point being?

Sure, they've not made the smartest moves all the time, but they've never gone completely mad, have they?

Depends on who you ask, but more than a few would find PD to be a little crazy, yes. Based on: How they handled painting, gifting limits, updates that undo the effects of previous updates, updates that undo the effects of those, helmet and suit collecting, the goofy music in the UCD, the fact that standard cars were brought over at all, why they chose to make the Countach standard, their garbage servers, why they didn't bring over matchmaking from Prologue, and so on. To list them all I would need an hour at least.

Like I said before though, I'm not completely convinced of a PS3 release just yet. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they did all the same. :D

Only GT and Wipeout entertained me for months and years on Ps3, I have probably spend atleast 60% of my console time on these two. I only owned sony consoles so far (each one of them, even Vita) and I alway bought Wipeout with my console (usually this is a launch title which shows the consoles max resolution and its graphical leap) and then, when it released, GT.

I own other games too, but most of them are not PS3 exclusives and after one play through I sell them.

Knowing PD's ineffiecency, GT6 will release in late 2014. Wipeout is currently dead, maybe this drive club game will keep me entertained until GT6 releases? Or the annual F1 games by codemasters, but as every multiplatform title this one lacks quality and dev support.

No debating, I believe the question was do we want it on both systems its a discussion about preferences not facts.

Which by the way is on topic if it annoys you that people are discussing what they prefer then thats your problem.

I believe sony will start the ps4 cost at about $700 the game maybe $80-$100. Just becuase its new.

Do you really think games will cost $100 by the end of the year? If that is the case, be prepared to see the end of the gaming industry.

I personally can not see GT6 on the PS3, seems like a big waste of development to release a game on a console which has already been replaced for a few months (Assuming PS4 arrives Q4 2013 and GT6 Q2-4 2014).

As Simon just said, I'm pretty sure that's a mistake. It doesn't make sense why he would say that as the game has had no mention before, why would he mention it now? It doesn't add up to me.

But why would anybody want it on both systems?

The best they could do with the PS3's limitations is a pretty version of GT5. And if that's the case, why not just release it as DLC for GT5?

Not to mention that a dual release would hinder the final PS4 version of GT6, no matter how you look at it. It would split an already skinny PD team for each console, and either they'd be two totally different games or the PS4 version would be useless as it would be no better than the PS3 version, which like I said above, could at most be a pretty version of GT5 due to the PS3's limitations.

Well it is in relation to PS3 still having big games for it coming out, it is still a relevant platform for them and the current one. I will be surprised more if there is no new GT game coming out on PS3 but could understand it coming out on PS4 only but will still consider it slightly crazy.

And there lies the topic people expressing their opinion just as you did.

Just because wanting gt6 on ps3 and ps4 is stupid in your eyes other people might have a different opinion its a discussion about it.

By the way I do agree with you that having it on both systems seems like a waste of time.

I see this as more of a what if it happened discussion rather than fact throwing.

So when was the last first party game announced for PS3? Or last one SCE are publishing? God Of War Ascension last April or Beyond Two Souls at E3? Have they announced anything since then?

Ill have to look that up.
