Do you want GT6 for both PS3+PS4

seriouswapanese
sorry, i should've said dead to me and just about everyone else that can afford the PS4 on launch as the release is holiday 2013.

I can afford it on launch day even when I get my ps4 my ps3 will have a spot on one of my tvs.

But I do see your point all interest will point to the ps4.

It will be dead in that I don't see any new first party Sony games being released for it exclusively that aren't already announced. From now on everything will either be PS4 only or one or two may be PS3 + PS4. A fair few third party titles like sports games will probably do that as well, as they did the last gen switchover.

GT6 for both systems. Like others have pointed out, the first year or so (at most?) isn't the best time to own a new console. I'll own GT6 for both consoles once I buy a PS4.

Eks
No way should GT6 release for PS3. I don't want anymore screen tearing, framerate drops, aliasing, and pixelation than what I already have to deal with in GT5. What fun is racing with 24-32 cars if you get 14fps and atrocious screen tear?

Basically, no. For performance reasons.
With a "new" release, you think there can't be any sort of improvements? What in the hell have the updates been doing to the game graphically and physics-wise? Get with the program, folks.

His point is that next to a PS4 GT6 a PS3 version would look and perform quite badly, given what we now know of the specs. They have so much to work with completing two games like that would be like GT5 and GT PSP. A big chasm in quality between the two. That's fine if they're two different games like that but GT6 on PS3 and GT6 on PS4? Nonsense.

And you never thought of the Possibility that it would be downscaled and ported from a PS4-created game to a PS3 game? Come onnnnnn.

..and what would the point of that be? It's not like they could build a PS4 game then just hit a big 'downscale for PS3' button. It would take a long time and given how long it takes PD to do a lot of things I don't want them trying to make the same game on two different platforms.

who would honestly want it on PS3 when the PS4 version would be available? i can't see any other reason than you can't afford one in which case start saving your pennies now.

Like I said if PC sims could technically do it years ago the PS4 should be able to.

I agree. I remember old PC days racing Grand Prix 3 and later GP 4. The AI of those games were far superior than today GT5, and with 24 runners on the track at the same time. PS3 has more power than the PC required to run those GP titles, so its not a raw power problem.

I think PS3 has the power to develop a good AI system. It only depends on good AI programmers.

Complaining for more power only it says to me is that PD has no idea on how to optimize things for the PS3.

On the subject, there will be perfect if GT6 is on PS4, but with many many things revised and optimized, inlcuding a far superior AI, and on 2014 as time limit. After all, they can't complain about hardware power in this case. If not, I'll be buying an xbox 720 instead.

Cheers,

Even if I didn't own a PS4 by the time GT6 comes out, I certainly wouldn't waste money on an inferior PS3 version.

I would prefer it on the PS4 the potential of GT6 on that beast is something to think about. I mean there's no point of PD making two versions when one of them is a superior version than the other.

It's very narrow-minded of you two to think that.

Did you watch the PlayStation Meeting? There will be more than a few games that are going to be treated that way. It's more than plausible that it'll be the case with GT6, seeing as how many copies have been sold thus far and seeing as how there are tons of people who don't want to "fork over" money for a system that they'll use for one game only; as if the PS4 will be nothing more than a PS3 with Better Graphics. Knowing how Kaz wants it (well, sort of), he won't sacrifice the physics of the superior GT6 for the PS4 porting it to the PS3. I don't have much to back that last statement up but my own intuition.

If i buy PS4 then i want GT6, i don't need it for ps3
Money, Money, Money, Money. MONEY!

Yes, give Polyphony more work to do, they are masters at time management and will produce the game for both consoles (never mind the different architecture) in a timely fashion, with no delays. I think they will still have too much down time though, so maybe GT6 for Vita as well, just to keep them busy.

You mean you don't actually have Kaz's phone number? I'm surprised.

-> Yes. Because I'm not yet ready to get a PS4 this year, I still value my PS3 very much!

Don't see how its narrow minded when I said that out of personal exprience. Last time I bought the same game for two consoles that were a generation apart, the one for the newer system was far batter.

Kaz's description of the PS4 as a blank canvas pretty much seals the deal, the CELL processor and technical limitations of the PS3 were holding them (and all developers) back, i'm sure they're glad to get away from it and really expand on their ideas.

+1 I'm sure they're really are. ;)

Laughing at people who still don't seem to realize how:
A) Unlikely a PS3 release is.
B) How pointless a PS3 release is.
C) How time-consuming a PS3 release is.

They're not going to make it for both systems, simply for marketing, console power, and time management. And if you actually think that they will, then you're in for a very rough surprise at some point or another.

I laugh at people who post that they laugh at people keeping to the topic of the thread.

Pure randomness love it.

It doesn't matter. The thread is pointless because the whole discussion is unreasonable, it's really not even in the realm of possibility.

I want both consoles for gt6

Not going to happen. They aren't going to build the exact same game twice, so if it was for both it would essentially be a PS3 game running on PS4, kind of like how 80% of GT5's cars were last-gen models in a current-gen game.

Did technical limitations of the PS3 hold them the back from (for example) putting more races in A-spec or from creating completely new seasonals (taking advantage of full car rooster, not being repetitions of already existed A-Spec events)?

It was due to the hardware limitations or to PD's laziness?

👍
I can't see how people want GT6 for PS3. It's not like the game's going to release at the PS4's launch when the console's price is at its highest.

I have been a strong, long held supporter of "I want it on PS3". :guilty:
But I too, now see the advantages of it being a PS4 release. Heck, if this new platform can live up to half the hype, GT6 will be absolutely AWESOME!
I am no techno geek, but the PS4 sounds like its more powerful than my home PC.
Coupled with what appears (at least so far) a very reasonable RRP, I can honestly say, I'll get one as soon as they hit the shelves. 👍
Even if there is still a wait for GT6, I'll be ready. :)

So, in closing and keeping on topic, I would say NO! Keep it as a NEW game for PS4 only.
If PD can give us a good DLC (even a freebie) to close out GT5 just prior to GT6 release, that would give people some extra play until they get GT6.
