Do you want to ask something to Kazunori Yamauchi?

I doubt he will answer the Porsche and PS4 questions. Or he'll just give a "we'll see/avoid the question response".

Anybody else surprised the F1 comments?

A small staff delving into yet ANOTHER project? (As if GT6 + GT Vita are not enough).

I was turned off.

heres the question, why is there like 65 variations of skylines, 20 types of GT86, 17 plus type of rx-7, etc, so why all these variations of the same car, like nissan has close to 200 hundred variations of really the same 3 cars, and only having 3 cars from Australia in total, there are more cars then that made in australia, like the GTHOs, GT Falcons, the tickford cars from the 90s, the FPV cars from this decade, HSVs for the last 25 years, old school monaros, toranas, and bathurst, or phillip island or even a mock up of the adelaide F1 circuit, my question is, why isnt australia represented properly????

:) one of my question is there :dopey:

AK_KOV: ¿Veremos algún día la licencia de Porsche en GT?

Yamauchi-san: Bueno, no podemos decir que no, es algo que me preguntan muchos usuarios.

what does it mean?

I tried to translate the answers as best I could.

TopoClandestino: What means for you a gamer/pilot community like the spanish community that continuously support the Gran Turismo brand?
Yamauchi-san: Spain is a country that I like, especially for its land, its people, food, etc.. It is a place where I can relax and feel very comfortable. And most importantly, as we saw in the presentation, the fact of being surrounded by so many people allow me to absorb all that energy they emanate and that's very important to me.

erprimo10: It will take long to see GT PS Vita?
Yamauchi-san: Well, this information is confidential and I can not even speak about it.

CJ_vzla: Do you think GT Academy could be extended to regions like Latin America?
Yamauchi-san: I have the feeling that yes, indeed I think you could make a GT Academy in South America, GT Academy began as a very small project but, little by little, is expanding.

lorddevil6969696: Will we have new DLC for GT5?
Yamauchi-san: Yes, we are preparing new content DLC for GT5. Although has been long time since the launch of GT5, we have received many messages from fans asking about new DLC content. And this continued interest is very important to us.

ozvaldini: could you implement a story mode to enhance the gaming experience?
Yamauchi-san: Of course this would be possible. Every day we come new ideas to mind to include in the future series of Gran Turismo. So to answer your question, yes, we are thinking of new ways to ensure that users enjoy the most.

THUNDERbreaks: Will there be a event editor in the future?
Yamauchi-san: Of course, this is something I've been thinking and I have in mind for future improvements.

AK_KOV: Will we ever see the Porsche license in GT?
Yamauchi-san: Well, we can not say no, is something that many users ask me.

Guitis77: Why not show in race the time gaps with the previous and next car?
Yamauchi-san: If the public demands it, we can implement it, of course. The problem we have is put on the same screen (in the racing display, we call it) too much data, too much information. So at first we consider that it was only necessary to show the time difference with the first car, but hey, it's something that we are always turning.

PS.Blog: On the PlayStation blog we know that Kazunori Yamauchi is a great motor fan. We would like to know your opinion about GT Academy and Lucas Ordoñez.
Yamauchi-san: Well, first I think it's almost a miracle that a game can be the gateway to something as real as driving race cars. That a program like GT Academy is able to do this gives me enormous satisfaction. And the fact of looking after people like Lucas Ordonez is able to adapt to change and risk their lives on the track is something that makes me very happy. What makes Luke is awesome and really hope you all imbued with his spirit, for it is he who hath opened the way.

Yamauchi-san: Well, this type of information is confidential and I cannot yet talk to you guys about that.

Yamauchi-san
: I've got a good feeling about it. Really, I believe that a South American GT Academy could become a reality since GT Academy started out being a very small project, but that little by little, is expanding.

THUNDERbreaks: Will there be some sort of event editor in the future?

Yamauchi-san
: Of course, this is something we've been thinking about and I'm keeping it in mind for future improvements.

AK_KOV
: Will we someday see the Porsche license in Gran Turismo?

Yamauchi-san: Well, we cannot say no; it's something that many users ask me.

Guitis77: How come, while in a race, the time gaps (differences) are not displayed for the car in front of you or behind you?

Yamauchi-san: If the pubic demands it, it can be implemented. The problem we have is that in the same screen (the racing display, as we call it), we have to put in a lot of data, too much information. That's why at the beginning, we only saw it necessary to insert the times of the leading car, but hey, it's something we're always giving thought to.

PS.Blog: On the PlayStation blog, we know that Kazunori Yamauchi is a huge motor enthusiast. We would like to know your opinion regarding GT Academy and Lucas Ordoñez.

Yamauchi-san: Well, first, I consider it a miracle that a video game could be the gateway to something as real as driving race cars. That a program like GT Academy could be able to do this brings me great satisfaction. And the idea of looking back at people like Lucas Ordoñez being capable of adapting to change and risking his life on circuits is something that makes me very happy. What Lucas does is impressive and I really hope that you are filled with his spirit because he is someone that has paved the way for you.

Edited last response.

The user was asking whether or not it's possible to have the time gaps for more cars, such as the person just ahead of you and the person just behind you.

As of now, GT only lets you know how far ahead the LEADER is.

It sucks that they didn't answer any livery editor questions or questions regarding importing old tracks from GT-GT4 to GT5...

Yea, it's a shame. :(

The Porsche question is good, but we all knew how he'd respond to that.

I know right? I think Kaz is not even trying to get the license at all. Do we need to go hard on him or something?

I'm glad he said they're still making DLC, but how long will it take them to make one is the question.

I'm not sure, but what I can tell you as I was translating his speech, I felt like...nothing has changed. A lot of his answers are "we are trying to find new ways of making it more fun" or "I'll keep it in mind". As I read this, I say to myself, "you should know what we want; read some forums."

Those answers, to me, show no sign of him really going out and asking what WE want. Often in his answers, as you saw on the last page, he'll say "Fans send messages" or "I get a lot of questions about DLC." My question is...why not go to the source? Why must the source come to you?

"On a daily basis, new ideas and future visions come to mind to include in future Gran Turismo titles. So, responding to your question, yes, we are thinking of new ways to ensure that users will have the most fun."

That one kills me everytime. It's like our ideas are nothing. Only worthy ideas come to their minds. Want to ensure we have the most fun? Please, check some forums.

Exactly. He's really proving to only do things what HE wants in his game and no one elses, not even his fans who cheered and wished him luck for the Nurburgring 24H or whatever stuff he does outside the game. He's really making me see the other side of him everyday to be honest.

He should know theres a fourm called *GTPlanet*. GTP even had a interview with him, YET still he doesn't bother to know or do what we want. They really should have ask him about the competition, especially about Forza 4.

Its funny how he saids they think this or that, never wanting our ideas but think they're aren't worthy enough for his games. He's really upsetting me and pretty sure everyone else would feel the same. :indiff: I'm keeping believing he doesn't care about anything what we want in the game.

To prove himself wrong. He should start by making a account on GTP and making special threads regarding about GT Academy or the GT series to discuss them with us on his free time.

No leaderboard questions mentioned at all?
Are fans institutionalised in PD ways now?

Tune in tomorrow. Same bat time, same bat Chanel.........

I am sure Kaz stated that the Livery editor would not come to GT5 a long time ago.

"Are there any features missing from GT5 that you’d like to have included?"

Kazunori said “Yes”, without hesistation. “But there’s still time to work on things!”

"Would this include a livery editor?"

“Probably not for GT5, though it’s certainly on our list of things to work on…”.

-From this interview

Yeah, I was not expecting anything. I got what I expected.

I am convinced the reason for GT's success is also the reason for its failures. Their staff is one culture, Japanese. This means they have one perspective, one derivative (themselves), one outcome. If PD hired a breadth of staff from around the world, each offering their unique perspectives, GT would be a better series for it.

I took away similar feelings from the interview.

The name, Gran Turismo, has sold itself for so long and GT5 is another example of its success (though it's the poorest of the titles).

I can't see the series lasting forever unless a lot of things change. It's not a threat, it's just what I perceive. We should all look VERY CLOSELY at GT6.
