It's pretty obvious that some major updates beyond what's mentioned, or at least hints, much more is to come. There is no way that sparkly background is going to stay, the lack of check marks or trophies on events you completed indicated more will likely be added and one was added in 1.01. None of the social features are in that was a big selling point (beyond online clubs)... Names in the credits like Seb yet there is no VO, and lots of little things that are a bit obvious they quickly threw some stuff together to make the release date... Its real nothing more than staged track days, dealerships, and window dressing right now.
And if you look at the planned features on the Offical site, those features combined are nearly 5x in scope than what we currently have in game now...
So I think there is a lot coming soon, but I am getting very tired of chase the rabbit and retarded (literally) AI.
Not to mention the volume of simple, to fix bugs that still need to be addressed... And there are plenty... But there aren't a lot of large major bugs...

If you want the AI to be more challenging, then pick cars with lower specs.

im actually kinda surprised i wasn't insulted or bashed for asking this question. i do suspect that there will be vast improvements and plenty of added content so i'm not giving up hope however my fun is kinda spoiled in the mean time. i enjoy thrashing cars around tracks and pushing them to their limits (well, as close as i can achieve anyway), something i cant do when it takes 3 hours of grinding to buy the ford gt lm spec II test car. i dont expect the same payouts as gt5 but is 1.5M per hour too much to ask?

I am loving the new physics. I have only driven stock cars and not many of them but so far they feel much more realistic than gt5. The tyre screech is amazing it puts a smile on my face every time because it sounds 99% accurate.
Also the car doesn't feel like its floating on ice any more and hewn you break you can feel al 4 tyres coming into line again.
So no I dont regret it for the physics alone.

Bashing usually only occurs when you tell other people what they should think. People don't mind opinions expressed and questions being asked. (in Parliament or elsewhere
)That said, post #3 was a little bashy-esque.

There are several games I regret buying, to pass the time before GT5 released. I've been enjoying GT for 15 years, I'm a proud supporter. The threshold for excuses has exhausted though.

Hey, I wish animated gifs were always put behind a link saying "reveal gif" so I never had to see another animated gif in my life. Frankly, the new ones are even worse than the ones from the internet 15 years ago, and I really hadn't thought the internet could reach lower than that.
That said, you've reminded me of the saying: "Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not notice the difference."

Wait, what? You're complaining about the pp and tyre restrictions? They put that so the kiddies won't use a billion hp car with unicorn grip tyres then complain on forums that the AI is stupid & slow (even though their already still slower than your above average human player which results in winning credits quickly). Blows my mind.
I have been loving GT6 so far. The money glitch has helped out since now I can use cars I want instead of prize cars or the few I could afford with the small payouts. The track selection is pretty big, menus are cleaner and easier to use than in GT5 and the new cars have been cool so far.
I'm very happy with my $60 purchase and that's not even counting all the other stuff that will be added to the game over time.

You must not have played much thus far, I agree with many the game is better than GT5 but the AI still sucks. However there are other things that help outweigh that.

That's a game breaking bug? I think you need to look up the definition of game breaking. I would classify a game breaking bug as one that renders a game completely unplayable. This doesn't. And the money glitch? Jeez, how many people are bitching about it being too difficult to make money? And yet you find a money glitch to be game breaking.
Haven't heard of that one, but like you said, you don't mind it.
I have the anniversary edition and have driven most of the AE cars. Again, I haven't noticed any problems with them.

Lots of people didn't buy the game for the AI. So I'm not sure that's a valid argument to claim someone else ought to regret GT6. (Which is what the topic of this thread is asking / discussing - regret or not regretting.)
Absolutely not. The physics are a great improvement when I didn't even have a problem with 5's anyway. The menu system is nearly flawless, extremely snappy, and I LOVE how you can upgrade parts right before a race by pressing start and then car selection. Beats having to go all the way back to the tuning section.
Graphics are a bit better, most standards are significantly better, race track selection is incredible, car cosmetics tuning is improved, overall sense of speed is improved, and just the overall game is vastly superior to 5.
