As long as Bianca Belair is still in the main title picture and not a complete afterthought like Kofi Kingston was. I think her losing like that was fine. Bianca sold the loss well regretting agreeing to a match she isn't prepared for

Not going to watch Takeover live tonight, I did an 8 1/2 half hour shift in work yesterday then stayed up to watch a 4 hour show, safe to say I'm quite tired, will get up early in the morning to watch the show

Saw Takeover this morning, great show as always with three titles changing hands.

Starting off with Cameron Grimes winning the Million Dollar belt in the really good opener, Raquel Gonzalez retained her women's title beating Dakota Kai, then came match of the night by far, Ilja Dragunov ended Walter's 800-odd day reign as NXT UK champion, it was an epic match in which they just battered each other! Kyle O'Reilly beat Adam Cole in a great 2 out of 3 falls match and Samoa Joe is the new NXT champion beating Karrion Kross in a good main event. Joe is the first ever three time NXT champion.

Looks like Adam Cole is on his way to AEW now, last night was his last scheduled match on his extended contract.

Adam Cole = All-Elite? I know very little about Adam Cole, except that I usually think Michael Cole hearing Adam for some reason. Be interesting to see where Adam Cole ends up. And if indeed Adam Cole goes the AEW route, AEW just adds more and more steam and charm to its product. More so than when C.M. Punk became All-Elite.

I hope AEW is even able to contain such a massive roster. At this point they might even need to do their own Brand Extension

Or they could use their YouTube shows to do more than predictable matches against local/unsigned wrestlers.

So Miz turned on Morrison again.

I still don't know how they were even friends. Given last time we saw Morrison storyline wise, Miz injured him so bad Morrison got released. I think this would've had more impact if Morrison was the one who turned on Miz.

They are keeping the Doudrop name, really...

Man, Ricochet got WRECKED by Karrion Kross. Then again, that's all Karrion Kross does- wreck people.

Miz turned on Morrison, Logan Paul was booed out of the building, Karrion Kross was dressed as a sex slave, Nikki ASH and Ripley are teaming up, seems like the next challenger for Charlotte is Alexa Bliss, RK-Bro are still the best thing on the show.

Very average Raw, especially as it was the go home show after Summerslam, no surprise returns or NXT call-ups, it was just there.

It also seemed that everyone had hate over Lynch after they showed the Summerslam clip. Apparently, she's coming back as a heel. But because everyone loved her as a face, they didn't know how to react.

I really hope that they'll right the wrong with Bianca. She was on a huge roll.

Adam Cole's WWE contract expires on Friday.

Carmelo Hayes won the Breakout tournament on NXT last night.

Fun fact I just realised about Nikki A.S.H/Cross MitB experience. (EDITED)

She's only the 4th to win MitB as a face and remain face after successfully cashing in. The other 3 are RVD in 2006, CM Punk in 2008 and Dean Ambrose in 2016. Every other has been a heel or turned heel after cashing in, except Cena who failed and Otis who lost it.

Pat McAfee announced that he tested positive for Covid when he got home.

No news from WWE on this but I think its safe to say he won't be on Smackdown this week....and I think its also safe to say that he'll be missed!

Also a bit late to the party as I thought it was posted here but WWE has confirmed a 2nd January PPV for the 1st of January. Potentially the return of New Year's Revolution? But knowing WWE it be a new but bad PPV name
I hate when I'm right sometimes...

So Smackdown last night then, starting off with Becky Lynch.

As you probably all know the current plan for her is to turn heel, I'm not sure it'll work as she is so loved by pretty much everyone that we will cheer her no matter what she does, for example last night she said she wasn't sorry for crushing Belair on Sunday saying 'I'd like to apologise...to absolutely no-one!' and guess what? They cheered that... Apparently its her idea for the heel turn so lets go with it and see how it goes, but I can't see it working IMO.

Elsewhere where there were little seeds planted regarding the whole Reigns/Lesnar/Heyman thing. Brock wasn't there but Heyman was locked out of Reigns locker room and the Uso's were suspicious of him, Reigns on the other hand was fine with him but you know deep down he isn't happy! They had a family celebration which was the main event bit and then Balor came down and demanded his title match with Reigns next week....and its happening! Reigns v Balor for the Universal title next week.

If you followed Baron Corbin's socials this week you will know that he hit the jackpot in Vegas and is now rich again and is now known as Happy Corbin, he has bought a suit, a Watch and a Bentley and has new entrance music and he is deliriously happy, he tried to buy Big E's MITB case for $100k but E wasn't having it.

Also there were welcome returns last night for Liv Morgan, Naomi, Cesaro and Sami Zayn, Zayn had a great match with Dominik Mysterio, we saw the new NXT logo and its pretty bad.

The commentary team was Cole, Corey Graves and Kevin Owens, they did a really good job, best wishes to McAfee. 👍

I'm a bit worried about the Becky heel experiment. Reminds me of AJ Styles first heel run and while people keep giving it high praise. It's that praise that made it unbearable to watch and was the low point of 2016 Smackdown for me, it's hard to enjoy a heel when the crowd is cheering out of love and admiration regardless of what they do.

It's the same with Lesnar. He's back as a face, but then again everyone cheers for him regardless...
It's weird with Lesnar, he shows up after disappearing. Everyone cheers, he wins title, people remember Lesnar title reigns equal terrible TV and start booing him again. Then he disappears and the fans forget

Wholesome way for Awesome Kong to call time on her career by coming to the save for her former rival Gail Kim from back when TNA of all places was doing the highest profile top-notch womens wrestling in the States.

I love how Raw followed through with nothing that they advertised last week

If this is another "Vince changed the script last second", why bother advertising Raw matches...

RE: Flair/Jax

Not a good night and seemed like both of them weren't exactly being cooperative and at times hitting for realsies by the end. Jax has the longer track record on this but Flair isn't exactly spotless either (see TLC 2019 v.s Asuka/Sane as an example).

Last night saw one of the best matches on Raw in quite some time, and then one of the weirdest.

There was a triple threat match for the US title between Priest Sheamus and McIntyre and my god it was good! Its was three big men beating the crap out of each other and who doesn't want to see that?! It was really entertaining and another big moment for Priest who pinned Drew in the middle of the ring and they shook hands after.

As for the Charlotte-Nia thing, man I don't know what happened there, they did have a match but it seemed like they were hitting each other for real and there were a lot of stiff shots and moves, at one point they were straight up just slapping each other. Nia won after hitting Charlotte with that choke slam/bomb thing she does and that looked stiff and nasty, I wonder what Vince made of all this, he can't have been happy!

Main event was RK-Bro successfully defending their titles v Lashley and MVP in a good match, Morrison didn't face Miz like advertised as for some reason the Miz wasn't there so Morrison randomly challenged Omos to a match, Doudrop v Eva Marie technically didn't happen either as Doudrop attacked Eva before the bell rang and then Eva couldn't continue (Doudrop's entrance music is terrible as well) and Karrion Kross is still a sex slave...and where the hell is Scarlett??

Man I really feel bad for Mandy Rose. After hitting it pretty good with the Otis, Dolph Ziggler and Sonya Deville storyline, she just kept getting back seated and all the events of that storyline have pretty much been forgotten about.

Seeing a wrestler go back to NXT entirely cause main roster creative was bankrupt with them is a sad sight

Vince and Bruce Pritchard will be producing the new look NXT when it starts on the 14th.

We have already seen the new logo but the show will have new lighting and the PC will look different, the talent will be different to as they try to shy away from older guys and fewer names from the indies.

I don't know how to feel about this, what about Triple H??
