Gran turismo for PC = Assetto corsa. :D That P1, F1 are my favorite, but the 155 and C9 reminds me of gran turismo so much! Still can't believe we have a sim like gran turismo level of detail. Minus the car count of course...and standards..oh and the vacuum sound.
Gran turismo is a simcade game with lots of useless cars, assetto corsa as an awesome simulator with a selection of cars that have purpose. Night and day IMO.

This update is absolute crap. The graphics are so dull while the car sounds had barely improved with some of the least wanted cars to go along this Dream Pack DLC. And my oh my, even though I have driven it in real life, this is definitely the most unrealistic Nordschleife because the track surface is really unchallenging and poorly detailed.

Update: Now I can confirm my investment on EVGA GTX 970 FTW was absolutely worthless

Just in case you know I'm telling the complete opposite ;)

Nicely done

Anyone find the setup of the GTR a bit off? I tried it yesterday and it the back wants to step out each time you accelerate out of corners. I thought GTR's were on rails..

I guess the LSD has to be tuned for his no? Any tips as i don't fully understand the AC tuning yet.

That isn't exactly a compliment towards AC lol

How so? I didnt mean that in a negative way. Im a huge GT fan, but moving to AC feels at home and not much adjustmen beside real physics and what GT should have been in sound department. Idk, maybe it's just me, but AC is very much a GT for PC for me. I guess it's the mixture of race car and stock, or the historic/iconic cars that AC and GT had.

You consider yourself a car enthusias? If not, why bother playing a racing game? No offense, but what is wrong with simulator mix arcade? It helps people decide if they want a real simulator or arcade racer.

GT is a console racer so unfortunately it's dumbed down for the "average Joe". I wonder what PD could do given simulation freedom.

Ditto, drove it at Mogello (spelling?) and it was a handful.

just got a 6.56.xxx on the normal nords in the GTR, having the same issue with the back end; even with differential tuning. I think the suspension needs retuning in all honesty, as I feel the bumps are unsettling the car. Will have to try it on another track.

Other things we can tweak are the springs, dampers and tyre pressures in order to set it straight. I already tried adding more wing but that didn't help. Who's the AC tuning expert around these quarters?

Hadn't had any similar problems with the GT-R as you guys. It's just a different driving, same goes for the SLS AMG.

I run medium Slicks, two more clicks on the rear wing and maybe (for a little bit more aggressive driving) a little bit more front camber and lower tyre pressure.

GTR's are famed for driving on rails, this one has these bursts of wheelspin when exiting a corner and touching the throttle with your little toe, so it doesn't feel right.

I'm amazed how close the GT version of the track is to this one. I have always felt GT6 has the most accurate version in any game/sim/mod. Forza 5s version also looked right but the curbs are wrong. The AC version feels like like GT6, but looks slightly better and has all the bumps added. Couldn't ask for more.

( Yellowbird or Alfa Romeo GTA ) + Nurburgring = Prefect.

That Alfa is a blast to drive. I actually like it as much as the RUF Yellowbird.

Really? As far as I know, and I think that's what you're referring to, the car drives on rails because of it's AWD, but FIA GT3 regulations do not allow AWD, so it's RWD. And with the torque from the engine, that can get very sketchy.

Not to mention that the actual car is one of the heavier cars in the GT3 championship and is in general faster in top speed and acceleration.

Makes sense, but i'd still like to route out the wheelspin as now it's not very pleasant to drive.

I'd try a combination of a little bit more rear camber and lower tyre pressure at the rear. Maybe even lock up the diff a little.

It's, again, always a case of adapting :)

Not an AC tuning expert, but in the spoiler is the content of the settings ini for the tune I have been messing with. I feel it is a lot easier to get the power on with it.

To make them usable in AC, open up notepad and copy/paste the text into it. Save as a .ini and place it into "\Documents\Assetto Corsa\setups\ks_nissan_gtr_gt3\ks_nordschleife". You should then be able to load it up in game.

Do you have TCS set to "factory" by any chance? As the GTR will have TCS turned on if it is set to factory.

Just finished trying out every single car and taking each on the Ring. My thoughts? Wowieee

Easiest Car to drive:
Alfa Romeo GTA

Hardest Car:
Sauber Mercedes C9

Most Fun Car:
McLaren F1 GTR

Noisiest:
Alfa Romeo 155

Most Spins:
Sauber Mercedes C9

Most Slides:
Alfa Romeo GTA

what a blast this pack is!

I would've chimed-in with my thoughts about the DLC last night, but like others before me, I too found myself lost in the parking lot @ Nordschleife

All was well though, because I was squarely seated in a P1, and couldn't have been happier as a Nordschleife-tourist ;). That parking lot & surrounding buildings is what the GT cruise-clubs needed way, waaay back when that game was relevant.

Imagine AC lobbies of various track cars coming & going on the 'Touristenfahrten' layout, like a 'live' virtual Nordschleife-weekend.

Not that it doesn't feel alive now, updated tarmac & greenery ?, PD consider yourself out-done.

Easily adjustable weather/lighting too ?, man I can't wait to get back in that P1 👍

I was going to post the exact opposite of this. I've watched hours of onboards from the GT-R GT3 and the way the car reacts is spot on. Edgy on corner entry and very loose on exits of corners, especially low speed ones when the downforce isn't doing it's thing. Watch:

Wolfie's driving style is quite aggressive but he gets time out of the car. (His channel is full of great videos btw, if anyone is interested!)

I have the exe not shutting down problem, have to go into task manager and kill it.

Reading the AC forum it looks like many have the issue and to fix you need to reinstall Microsoft's junk frameworks. Really not in the mood so I'll probably keep using task manager.
