So anyone genuinely enjoying DriveClub VR, able to accept the graphical shortcomings (primarily the near distance blur and the far distance blur and low res) and thinking you'll still be playing that for a while to come instead of going back to the crisp, detailed looks of the regular game?
I just tried the demo again, probably for the sixth or seventh time in the last two weeks, and while the immersion obviously is incomparable to a flat 2D screen experience, it's really hard for me to imagine I can get past the visual trade-offs well enough to actually treat it like the proper racing game it is, rather than just a novelty where I'll do a couple of short races every once in a while just to remind myself of the coolness factor of "being in" the cockpit of a supercar.
I'm being extremely selective with my VR game purchases - much more so than my usual tendency to end up making too many questionable purchases on the PS store (does change things a little that there's still no VR content on the local PS store here, so I have to first go around Amazon.com to buy digital gift cards for the US PS store, where I currently have around $60 remaining in my account before I need to restock).
Too many VR games that seem more like short and slightly (or sometimes very) overpriced experiences (haven't even pulled the trigger on the universally praised Arkham VR yet). Others that are actually quite fun based on the demos but so far from my usual choices in games that I'm a little hesitant (eg. Headmaster and Tumble). And others that give me too much motion sickness (I bought Battlezone on disc, it can make a fine coaster unless my VR tolerance increases significantly).
My latest purchase yesterday was Windlands. Sparse concept and visuals but seems pretty cool and with substantial content. Though I'll still be taking it very slow with short sessions even with the plentiful comfort settings available.
