Just had a quick blast on a few of the new tracks, and wow, they feel really well done. I was kind of expecting them to feel rushed and not up to the standard of the rest of the game, but I'm glad I was pleasantly surprised. Did Evo make these tracks? Or someone else?

Also, with such a significant track expansion coming over two years after the game launched, Driveclub continues to be the best value for money racing game on PS4. Just the thing to get players back in the game for some more photomode action.

Edit: Seriously, anyone with a PS4 who doesn't have this game should pick it and all it's DLC up now. It's so cheap, and with all the extra content it's a massive racing game. I can imagine it'd take a very long time to finish if I started it all over again. I reckon after this console gen is over and done with, in my opinion of the best stand out games of this gen, Driveclub is well up there.

I like the new tracks, shame about the pop-up in a good few of them but all in all they are decent looking throw arounds. Surprisingly, my favorite setting wise are the new Chile circuits, they really nail that dusty 'holiday' esque locale and are fast as hell.

The Japan circuits were a bit of a let-down.

Now, I'm the reverse - the new Chile tracks are for me the least interesting and Japan has enough grid layout to be a blast with the muscle and drift cars.

Oddly enough, for me Vancouver has that 'dusty' feel about it - mind you, that's probably due to the association with the roadworks in progress when I was there a few years ago

 Norway is by far the most homely feeling of the lot, definition of a comfy circuit.

Then you have your Platinum trophy?

That's it. I also will replay the prologue to complete 2 very simple tasks. And then Plat trophy. I'm already over 200 hours played with this game. I just don't know what do to next. lol

I wish I knew how long have I played DC as well.

I obtained the Platinum for Phantom Pain a while back, so I know the pain. Such a grind.
My congratulations ;)

Is anyone else under the impression the heathaze effect for the citytracks has been added? Some tracks look fantastic, a bit on the short side an not really adapted to hyper machines but still awesome free content :bowdown::bowdown:

That feeling when you have to do a group presentation at university, and despite knowing about it well in advance, you're the only one from your group who shows up... Ohh well, that's done with, and now I'm heading home to finally try out the new tracks in Driveclub. yay me! :D

I wouldn't say it's weird. It's easier for them to just enable some more graphical settings/details in DC VR from normal DC. As for normal DC only logical improvement would be 60 fps, and probably that would take some work. For me DC is awesome how it is, I will have a blast again even without an update when I get ps4 pro. ;)

I just hope that next year we will see some sort of trailer/teaser of the new game from Evo guys at Codemasters.

@Gr4ndy While i respect your opinion :) I Have to disagree, I think that any improvement done to the Original DC would be more then welcome by most.
I think what @Gr4ndy is alluding to is that there would be no team present to do the extra effort and work to make DriveClub more intensive for the Pro. The DCVR upgrades wouldn't have been as excruciating to produce given it was a new title and Evolution were making the game anyway (or some of it, at least).

Making a pro version of DC wouldn't be worthwhile for Sony unfortunately.

My Mistake I do apologize @Gr4ndy for misreading your post :)

Also doesn't Sony own the DC IP? So they can always get another Developer to do the Patch? But i guess like you said @Brend Sony just doesn't see it worthwhile to patch OG DC :)

@BrainsBush Well I have tried quite a few times and still short of your Alfa/Tamil Nadu 02 TT VR time, you set a really good time and even had a slip up in the middle of the track i see so you could of got a few more 100ths there. This is my daily challenge until I beat it.

Also try setting up a Caterham 500 Race (Set all AI as the same car) and race Wester Ross in Scotland. This is fun up and down the hills hanging out the car, the exterior engine noises, powersliding round the bends. One of my favourite moments so far in VR.:D

I am slowly getting used to the VR headset in DC and the motion/looking around in it now, it took longer than I thought to get accustomed to it fully and I think I was pulling the headset/lens too close to get it focused in DC for the menus and sharper text (great for most games) but with DC it looks blurred on distance objects so on this game I now pull the headset approx 1-2" (25-50mm) further away than normal. In cockpit view this makes such a difference and the graphics all look much better when driving fast so anyone with the VR it is worth moving the headset around up/down and out before each race to focus the distance views first. I can see why people on first impressions think it is slightly blurry if the Eye Calibration and headset are not set exactly right but for me now this has made a nice change to when I first tried the game.

Overall I am really enjoying DriveClub in VR and it I am still mesmerised each time I put the headset on, by actually being in the virtual cockpit of some of the best cars in the World, in Drive Clubs own Virtual World, looking around at the scenery and adjusting the drivers seat.... Then thrashing the cars around the tracks inside the game I have been a viewer from for all this time. It feels very strange in a nice surreal way even sitting as a passenger after the race in the replays is an amazing experience still at 150mph down Chile Putre jumps or Cayoosh big hills in Canada.

Maybe One day I will get tempted by the PS4 Pro to see the differences in VR but I will probably wait to hear the reviews first how much it improves it.👍

@torque99 I will sent you invites for some (tough) challenges. Some really good drivers in DCVR.

This game is too addictive...About 25 running challenges with more or less the same drivers who are competing for the highest places. It depends per track/car who has the best match sometimes with a difference of 0,001 second. A lot of blood, sweat and tears. But after a couple of hours it feels great to be the number 1...and the next day dropped to 4. haha.

I also created a team and as a Driveclub newbee by mistake used my username* as team name :banghead: which cannot be changed. haha. It is open so feel free to join.

Hopefully that blurriness will be solved when the patch comes out next week in combi with the PS Pro. I will share my first thoughts here.

And for now: see you on (virtual) track!

*BrainsBush: some think even I am a Bush fan and send me rude messages (has something to do with politics and elections). Sorry it is just the translation of my last name. Brains=Brian Bush=Bosch.

@BrainsBush I never really thought of your name, other than it was different and cool. Some people sending messages! Ignore them. 👍

So you are upgrading to PS4 Pro  Do you know if they will patch anything for the standard PS4? If not I look forward to hearing your comments on the Pro/New patch.

Only those who remember Bush ;)

Wouldn't the strict translations be Bosch = forest or woodland. With trees looking like brains on spinal cords, that's what I though: Brain Forest.

My son wants to play Battlefield, GTA5, CoD and I want to race. So the PS4 moves up to his room and the PS Pro will be connected to the Playseat, PSVR, TV and/or beamer. solved. Only we still have to tell his mother, my wife that a package will arrive next week.:nervous:

Game developers do have the freedom to make patches for the enormous installed base PS4. Especially since HDR support was one of the improvements a couple of weeks ago. Also, I was told, it is a very ease job for a developer to make a game/patch for PS Pro and also have the PS4 benefit of these features. The 1080p supported PS4 will then have crisp more detailed images with deeper colour. But e.g. Driveclub will not get a patch :( but Driveclub VR will :)
