So I decided to buy DriveClub VR after all. While it's going to take me longer than this initial half hour to get past the blurry visuals, it does look a little better than I gave it credit for after the demo. Particularly noticeable in cruise mode where you can stop and step out of the car anywhere you like on any track - still pretty good detail on nearby surroundings and also not a total blur, although distant landscape has often taken a pretty big hit.

No motion sickness for the first 25 minutes or so (and I had played the CoD Jackal Assault demo just prior), but then it built up quickly over the course less than 30% of a point-to-point race and I had to end it prematurely and call it quits for now.
But other other games had already showed that motion sickness in VR is a definite issue for me, so that wasn't surprising. I'm actually surprised I lasted as long as I did. Hopefully I'll build up tolerance over time, I have been using my PSVR quite sparsely so far.

So, the new tracks... I think they're fantastic if a little short, but I'm guessing they were to cater for the new VR crowd, still it's more reason to play this game every day religiously like I have been doing..
Also playing a lot more multiplayer games now, I used to have my reservations about online gaming ( due to shooting games where I got shot in the head within seconds of starting) but for an old fart I'm not too bad at this..and the lobbies are still very full when they have racing at normal times, a 3am Hypercar rice in the driving rain is not and never will be fun..still, gotta love this game and kudos to Evo for what is still the greatest driving game I've ever played... ( super mario kart don't count):bowdown:

Anyone notices this? Odd sign to have for a church

Other than the fact that St Winefred's Catholic Church doesn't exist in Vancouver ;) I think it could be a reference to St Winifred's Roman Catholic Church in Sleepy Hollow PA. Maybe someone likes the TV series based on the film.

Maybe the building itself is a similar nod to something else.

There was a DC poster where the services notice board usually lives in this picture. Or do you mean the other signs?

Anyone fancy some online racing tonight? Figured we could host a lobby and race through some of the new circuits. :) Nothing formal, just some fun. Could even take Team GTP into some public lobbies.

I will be on around 6:00GMT tonight.

No I see these dirt bikes it reminds me of DCVR Ashi track. Near the elephants have a look at the bicycles. Or the people in India are much larger or it is just an art project.

Anymore on GT Planet who race in DCVR? I know at least two other forum members. but I cannot imagine there are not more fanatic racers amongst us. Just curious if also the top ranked drivers are also on this great GTP site
Or is this too much 'election time' reaction of a modest Dutch old man :yuck:

Is this true? Its from a comment on YT ' About the Bryggen Track 1 :(

this track is glitched though. In vr it has leaves blowing around and news papers . in DC normal it lost them :( and the entire floor is covered in leaves

?

I doubt that the regular version has something that the VR doesn't (except VR that is.) I mean, leaves might cover the floor, but litter is on a dynamic pattern and sometimes you'll hardly see any, other times a lot more will be visible, depending on the weather conditions. Have a look on some of the Indian tracks where litter is gathered alongside the road sometimes, or blowing out across the water in Atlanterhavsvegn. I reckon that's all this is.

Someone with the VR version will have to confirm though, once they have the time. In the meantime, could you post a link?

@MeanElf There are definitely more things blowing towards you in the VR version, 10 carrier bags sometimes and half a tree of blossom or a whole cloud dust that covers the car, these are not in the normal game so I would say it is not a glitch and something they added in to the VR game, remember it is a new game built for 360 VR not just a patched Driveclub update @Chikane 👍

I am sure there are a few more but they may not read this section. Does this include MR @Denur on my list-very fast driver from the times I see 👍, I am struggling with good times in VR. I have a while to go in the tour yet to unlock the cars first but enjoying standing up and putting my head out the roof on some cars (need good balance at speed for this) ;)!

When the PS4 Pro arrives next Thursday, I'll be spending more time on DC VR.

Well I set up the playseat and T300RS with the DCVR, this transforms the game it tracks your hands some how to the wheel and you feel so much more like you are low in the real cockpit holding the wheel and looking in the mirrors and apexs much more than with the controller, You feel the road more and you get the jumps when you smash in to a fence or get air around Norway etc and the FFB and physics on the wheel and driving isn't as bad as I remember and I feel much faster now. In fact I don't think I can go back to the controller with the VR it was so awesome.

so ..... @Denur @BrainsBush Checkmate now on the Alfa4c/Tamil Nadu 02 -- 0.51.99 Top spot (at the moment after a bit of sweat at the wheel ;)👍) I still feel there is plenty of time on the lap and I have a few 100ths left in me I think :ill:, so see what you can do:cheers::gtpflag:
