I just noticed on the first screen it says 18% Progress. So this may be an early build?

That is the progress for the current race. Since the races in this game are point to point, instead of a lap counter it shows how for you are in a current race via percentage.

Not sure. Is the final game not suppose to have progress percentage? it's handy to have in point to point

It takes skill to play old fashioned Pinball BUT I do not consider that a very good driving game either ;-)
You are either seriously misunderstanding my point or clutching at straws.

Example of what I mean:
everybodys-golf-world-tour-jpg.jpg

Is aimed at everyone(funnily enough), but it still requires a lot of skill to navigate through the more difficult, less realistic courses. Now:

Appeals to a more 'golf fanatical' audience, with a ton more realism and more advanced swinging and environmental techniques. It requires a completely different skill set from E.G. even though they are both based on the same subject: Golf.

Now comes some harsh words. It is nothing more than a NFS, street racer, arcade game, suitable for 8-14yo olds with hand controllers that have no idea what skill is or race craft is about.

Funnily enough, from personal experience those 8-14 year-olds can be found in the resolutely realistic titles like Forza and Gran Turismo, while the arcade titles attract a more mature audience.

Grid, MotorStorm, Blur, I could go on... but I've ran into far more adults online playing them than in GT6...

Funny, so they show these 'replay style' videos to advertise the game, but the game will ship without replay functionality... :odd:

Wait and see if the game looks indeed as stunning as they promise...

My concern is that they do not have any plans to include replay functionality at all. Now , Rushy is now completely avoiding to respond to any questions regarding when or if replays will be added to the game. I don't really understand why they say "100 % PS4 footage !" That's very misleading.

Not all of the races are P2P. If you're driving on one of the race tracks, it will show a lap counter.

EDIT:
http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/07...etailed-real-life-canada-location-identified/

5 Locations. Each with 2 x P2P, 2 x RC & 1 x RT. All P2P & RC are playable backwards, whilst RTs have 3 variations.

P2P = Point to Point / RC = Road Circuit / RT = Race Track

oh ok, my bad. It's a good thing to have the percentage counter at point to point races.

Okay, so I checked out the 458 gameplay vid. Man.. the cars do not sound impressive at all. What are the devs at DC doing!?!

I feel that the 458 has one of those Maserati Gran Turismo and Audi R8 sounds, just a lil bit mixed up, but the characteristics of the sounds are similar. This reminds me of Gran Turismo where you have the same "structure" of sound producing. DC Sounds like all from the same Synthetic soundlibary and just changed a bit for every car.

The positive thing about the 458 video is the screaming sound of the F12. You can hear it even if its a few hundred meters in front of you. I really hope they dont mess up the sound of the F12. Its one of the best sounding cars in the world and one of those cars where realistic sound is really really important, because its so special.

The video is 1month old and maybe everyones seen it by now. But it's the best representation of how driveclub will look realitically without all the PR. Theres no music though and the guy driving isn't great.

I can only imagine how Driveclub would be like playing with a wheel and virtual reality headset.

That F12 sounds monstrous. This game really needs a Japanese car pack DLC. It needs the LFA.

I rest my case. 1:05 min he has the first crash/ricochet. Just another NFS :-(

No I won't watch the other 40min I will wait and download the free PS Plus demo and make my own decision about how bad it really is ;-)

Im really confused at what you expected this game to be. I thought it was pretty obvious from the beginning it was going to be 75% arcade and 25% sim

NFS 'bumps' tend to be more spectacular, involving cars spinning on their longitudinal axis after being punted twenty feet up into the air.

That example at 1:05 was a mere tap by comparison.
