Hi guys, first of all like everyone knows in the NA serie, i'm limited with my english but i'll try to explain something here. Ok, i really enjoy racing in the DTM and to be honest, this is my first «true» online series that i race in and i compete with very talented guys and very kind... sincerely. But there is one thing that start to annoy/distrub me is the use of the mic while we race. I mean it's ok when we practice or in the pit/lounge, or at the limit while we are in qualif, but i think while we are racing the mic should be muted or used only on purpose and not all the time. And dont get me wrong, i dont want to be rude here, it's just a thought and if you prefer to keep it the other way, it's ok then.

Sorry to the NA series guys last night/this morning. I was far to tired this morning to race with you. Had my alarm set but could not get myself out of bed after my long drive on Friday night. Hope you had a good race. Hoping to see some great pictures later this week.

tatoune - I too am not a fan of using the mic during the race. In the EU races we have had a few races where it has been disabled to help with the bandwidth and connection. It really does have to be down to the individual race hosts what they will do. Maybe look at it for the DTM2 as a possable rule change.

Don't get me wrong, I really do appreciate the humour and sometimes pertinent information, but as Tatoune says, we should do our best to keep the chat to a minimum during race and qualifying.

I second that motion also! Although we don't use mics in the EU races I know how annoying it can be having people shouting through my living room. It's very disturbing. I don't know what they were thinking at PD by implementing a very prudish censorship on the text chat and having no easy way to mute all mics by default...

Anyway, how did the NA race go? I will watch the EU race replay tonight to gather some data for the points. JT, I'' send you the results. Will post some pictures if I can make some nice ones...

I simply mute everyone! If someone turns a mic on during the race I turn mic on I try to turn mine on if it's charged. That POS is always low on batt!!!

sorry for always using my mic when I race, I like having a conversation while I race and it doesn't bother me while I'm racing...
But i didn't think anyone else had a problem with it.

Anyways, i'll make it known for the next race that voice chat will be kept to a minimum during racing.

BTW the race went very well! I was able to make 8 laps of Nurburgring with no crashes. I hate to say it but it was a very dull race for me. My quickest lap was a 8.00.621. I slayed that track.👍

Wow, thats some lap time. Doing 8 laps of the Nurburgring 24H without damage is also pretty amazing too. Looking forward to some pictures.

I will be back to normal again this Friday and will be racing in the EU Race 7 - Suzuka East. I know this is not the best track in the game but, i'm hoping that its's shortness will make lots of overtaking and keep the cars close together. Could be a big race as the season enters a critical phase.

I have them tonight. Watched the replay yesterday but forgot to look at the 7th lap time to calculate the totals. Only New Soul and Goruk finished in time. Goruk had the fastest lap, 8:15.004. Will PM you the results as soon as I have them.

BTW, I will not be there Friday. I'm off for a holiday to Rome.

Hey, hope you all had a good race this weekend.
I think we should change suzuka east to the full circuit. Just doing the east version would become rather boring, due to it being pretty much the same type of corner for the whole circuit and overtaking IMO would be limited to just the straight which is boring.

I really don't have a time on the DTM cars but the SuperGT 500 cars are on the 1:54.xxx range, we should be somewhere arround there maybe 1 or 2 seconds behind. I'll do a couple of laps tonight when I get home if no one has done it yet and post it here.

Although everyone is already looking forward to Suzuka this Friday, here some pictures I made of the Nurburgring race last week. To be honest, it was no fun driving 80% of a race with damage!

It looked like it's going to be a wonderful day when the race started.

The beginning of a 6 lap battle between new_soul and Goruk. Very close racing by these guys!

The last thing I saw of new_soul and Goruk. I hoped I could also join the battle but in lap 2 I had my first mess up, hit the wall and it was a long way to the pit...

Eventually the battle was won by new_soul. After the long straight Goruk had to pit and new_soul took first position for the rest of the race.

In the meantime Godoias and me had a short battle for 3rd place.

New_soul heading towards the sun and his first victory in the DTM series.

**Next Race**

This is a formation lap race.

I've done 3 or 4 laps at about 2:03.xxx. Just under 2 minutes is likely to be the race lap time. So, 30 laps at 2mins/lap is 1 hour.

Are the times correct for everyone? With all the daylight savings all over the place wasn't sure what the zones are now called. I think they are BST (British Summer Time), CET (Central European Time-stays the same?), PDT (Pacific Day Time) and EDT (Eastern Day Time) but not sure.

I've been thinking about the final race of the season.
In the real DTM this is a full race at the Shanghi Street circuit. The circuit is very similar to the London street circuit in London on GT5. The problem is that the London circuit has no pit lane.

Here are the options that have been discussed in the schedule thread of the group.

A* 2x20 Lap Sprint Races @ London (Tyres might struggle for 20 laps, maybe..)
or
B* 3x15 Lap Sprint Races @ London
or
C* 1 Full Race @ Rome/Rome Reverse
or
D* 1 Full Race @ Tokyo R246
or
E* 1 Full Race @ Cape Ring South (This is not a street circuit but could make-up for having Madrid as our Valencia)
or
F* Another Idea (please share)

Another idea for this event is to make it a joint North America/European Series Race. A good get-together to finish a successful first DTM Season.

For that to be considered we would have to decide a time/day which worked for the majority. This race is scheduled for the 29th/30th April. There is a 9 hour difference between our Pacific Coast members and our Central European Members. Here are the times which i think could work.

1* Friday 29th April - 23:00 PDT / 02:00* EDT / 07:00* BST / 08:00* CET (*Saturday)
or
2* Saturday 30th April - 09:00 PDT / 12:00 EDT / 17:00 BST / 18:00 CET
or
3* Saturday 30th April - 14:00 PDT / 17:00 EDT / 22:00 BST / 23:00 CET
or
4* Saturday 30th April - 23:00 PDT / 02:00* EDT / 07:00* BST / 08:00* CET (*Sunday)

If you could post your preference and which time groups you can do (ie. B3, A2/3 etc.) in the Race Schedule Forum of the DTM Group.
Need to get this sorted out soon so that people get plenty of notice.
If we cant get some sort of consensus on the timings we will have to have a split race to finish the series.

Race was fun, but I think everybody found themselves pushing to hard throughout the race and had to pit more often than planed, including my self.

Any of 2*,3*,4* for times to hold the race.

Think i best get practicing for suzuka, and get used to the new qualifying format, 5 hot lap limit?
