Hey guys was just wondering what everyones thoughts on having one of the special stage races in the rain and another at night and the other 3 will be just dry races.

I had thought we could make Goruk's track in the rain and Sass's mini suzuka at night then have Pipi's and JT's tracks just dry races and then we have 1 other track space.

Also hopefully we could have a testing session some time this week....... with a few practice races for fun

err...sounds good but i think my M3 on wets is harder to control than on dry hards lol! i sense some carnage! rofl :P

racing at night sounds brilliant! :D

was just an idea we had a wet race last season on highspeed ring which was pretty good but if no one wants a wet race then theres no point in doing it

:indiff: I'm gonna be a grumpy old git here and say - i'm not keen on either rain or night especially on tracks I don't know well. Rain is OK but mixed with full damage! :ouch: The lights for me are just weird and don't give enough view distance, more so on undulating tracks.

Never really been a fan of custom tracks either TBH, they always seem to have tons of blind bends and hills in with no curbs, braking markers or run off areas. And 5 to learn in a week :scared: lol

See told ya I was gonna be grumpy ;)

I vote for scrap them all and do a nice long race at Monaco :dopey: lol

There will be quite a few people missing for this Special Stage incuding myself and maybe Symp. So we need someone to do the admin for the races. This will involve recording all the race results, saving the race replays, and working out all the points for the spacial stage. If anyone can do this let me know and i'll give you more details.

Also, due to changes in curcumstances, i might not be able to race at all during weekends. This will mean changing the series to a midweek night. DTM3 will continue on Saturday nights until the end of the season so that everyone who signed up for the series can still race. DTM4 however will be on a Monday or Tuesday night. Times yet to be decided.

This will affect a lot of the north American guys in the series and for that i am sorry. I would like to encorouge someone from that area to start up a DTM (or Touring car) series for their time zone (similar to DTM1) but i wont have the time to run or organise it. You would be more than welcome to use the same rules/regs/forum/group etc. and have te series under 'The DTM Series Championship' banner.

Open to ideas.

JT

I'll also be missing the special stage as well as next week's Madrid race.

So if any reserves are watching - there's an A4 spot available for the next two weekends.

So, the way I'm seeing the standings is i'm the only one on my team :(, this encourages me to try and train harder hopefully ill have some better luck later on :/.

Results and standings are updated and can be found on gt5dtm.webs.com or the group forum.

Unfortunately JT has received messages from Sassafrass and BB_Voodoo that they have resigned from the series for the rest of the season. We also have decided to move lmracer24 and nethereal to the reserves list due to multiple absence without any notice.
That means that there are 4 free spots available again for the second half of this season. Besides that, there are 3 cancellations for this Saturdays Special Stage and for me it's also not sure if I'm able to race. But I will try hard because it cannot happen that there won't be any TT-R on the track Saturday! :ouch:

Since the Special Stage doesn't have any mandatory pit stops, tyre rules or weight penalties it would be a great opportunity to recruit new people to join these races. So if anyone is interested in being part of this championship, this would be the time!

Ok so with a lack of time for everyone to download and test out each of the 5 custom tracks, and with the added problems of rain and night races, i've decided it would be best if we dont do the custom tracks for this weekends Special Stage. Instead i was thinking of having 2 short races at 2 of the circuits we always miss out on as they dont have pit lanes.

Race 1: London (20 Laps)
followed by
Race 2: Top Gear Test Track (20 Laps, reverse grid from race 1)

Points (each race):
1st - 7pts
2nd - 6pts
3rd - 5pts
4th - 4pts
5th - 3pts
6th - 2pts
7th - 1pt
Win both races for 1pt bonus.

No formation Lap, Grid Starts, No pit stops, Light Damage, Any Tyres, Weak Penalties on TGTT only.
Tyre wear will still be on so you will have to look after them or setup the car so they last 20 laps.

JT I dont mind doing the admin if symp can't make it on saturday, I like the idea of top gear track but london I'm a bit worried it might end up who ever gets pole wins as its really hard to overtake on that track.

Also ment to say why don't we have a lower BHP DTM series either on the Satarday or Mon/Tue, that way people have got an option. I don't know how much extra work this would be, but it shouldn't be that hard if we use the same format. Just need to decide on what cars and test them to get them equal, and 2 admin people for each series.

Dang would love to get involved Howard time conflict with WSGTC prevents it. :(

You guys be interested in adding a Saturday league to the series?

^ The current championship is on Saturdays and there are still spots available. However, there's a discussion going on right now to move the race day of the 4th season to a mid week day (Tuesday if you ask me 👍).

Guys, I just cleared my schedule for the weekend so I'm gonna be there Saturday! Now I need to practice right away cause these tracks are not in my favorites list. :nervous:

UPDATE
Did some little testing yesterday with Green and realized that qualification on the London track is not really possible. When entering the track you're directly ON the track and there's no place to park your car when you're done with qualifying except exiting the track, meaning you loose your time. Also, with penalties on at the Top Gear track gives a lot of frustration and the transparency of the cars is very confusing.

So I want to propose the following:
  1. We start with the Top Gear track. When you're done with qualification you park your car somewhere safe outside the track and wait for the race to begin.
  2. Penalties will be turned off. We are all gentleman so I don't expect any but in case of short cutting people will be penalized by watching the replay according to the GTP OLR Rules & Guidelines
  3. The 2nd race will be London with reverse grid so no qualification needed. Time between races will be 15 minutes to change setup and have some practice.

Unfortunately I'll miss the special stage again this season, good side of it, i'm on my way to Algarve, sun, sand and sea waiting for me :D.
Good race for all tomorrow....

I really think london is a bad idea, these cars are too big and fast for this track it's going to be chaos. Could we not just vote on a track or something.........

^ I agree. It's too small and it probably will be total carnage. (I think they've had enough of that this week :D)

What we could do is use the voting system of the game to decide over the 2nd track. It will be a surprise for all of us 💡

Greennarcotics invite me this race series, i would like a join with Audi A4 TC

PSN ID / GTP ID: menoh
Hungary/Budapest

Have thought about the 2nd track for tonights Special Stage and think it's best to limit the track selection to the following short tracks:

  1. Tsukuba
  2. Autumn Ring
  3. Clubman Stage Route 5

I propose we vote about this after we've done the Top Gear track using the voting system of the game. Then we have 15(?) minutes to test and practice and start with reverse grid.

^^ Hi menoh, will send you the info today. Race starts at 23:00 and qualification 30 minutes earlier.

Points:

teeds : 7+6: 13pts
LSDWolf: 4+7: 11pts
menoh: 6+3: 9pts
green: 3+4: 7pts
symp: 5+1: 6pts
godoias: 0+5: 5pts
antz: 1+2: 3pts
jhewson23: 2+0: 2pts

Hey guys!

Just wanted to say that next race will be my last this season as im heading on vacation since August 26th until September 12th, so...extra spot available for the last 2 races of the season! :P

cheers

Hey guys i can't race this Saturday again. I'm out of this season, return for the DTM4.
Sorry but this Saturdays are very complicated, lol

Good race for all.

^DTM4 will most likely be on a Tuesday night so keep an eye on the forum/group (see post #249).

I believe the DTM cars are all still available in the on line dealership. Might be a good idea ,if anyone is interested in DTM4, buys all the cars in this series before they are replaced. This will mean you will be able to race even if your 1st choice is taken.
