Yeah I started on Softs after qualifying on hards but i didn't gain anything from it and was a mistake i should of checked my tires after the restart. So I ended up running S/M/H instead, I know I broke the rules but not much I could really do about it, pretty bad race for me tbh although i did do well to finish 3rd. Hopefully I'll have a better time in tokyo....

^^^^ I guess you can change to the correct tyres as long as you are in the pit window. The first pit can then be seen as a 'damage pit'. But teeds was pretty darn fast on Hard also if I you ask me. He drove on hards from lap 21 and finished with only 5 seconds behind

But great race from you guys! 👍👍👍 Loved to watch you two battle in the replay for the first 20/30 laps!

About the server thing. I agree that the connection was way better then on "my server". However, I don't know how the connection was for the others. Never had a 'crash' like that before. I see that my provider had some malfunctions on the network the past days so maybe it was an incident. It did work for the races before.
The connection from your PS3 to the internet isn't the only important factor. It's more from there to the main backbones. But with a non-fixed host the location or connection of the host becomes less important.
I think for the first time the non-fixed host did work for all of us. In earlier seasons we experienced big problems using the non-fixed option. People who could not connect or see each other or got kicked out during the race.
Maybe those problems are history now?

Green your tyre issue is not what i'm looking at. You had know way of knowing what tyres you were on after the server crash as no one was allowed to go into car setup before the restart. What you did do, after discovering the difference, was change your tyre change order so that you did not break the rules. Well done and your quick thinking saved you from getting a penalty. You also didn't gain any advantage from it as you qualified lower than you would have if you had qualified on softs.

I am looking at the incident that you have brought to my attention and i will get back to you on that one. May need an impatial judge to have a look at the incident decide on a penalty, if any.

Sadly i think there will be a big penalty given out for this race to someone. Just need to confirm some things first before i give out any more details.

yeah, that was a sad situation...but why didnt you re-pit and change to meds? i dont know exactly the penalty for that but im sure you would be faster even with one extra pit

Thought about stopping for the meds but only had about 16 laps to do so figured not pitting was the least time consuming option after my "fail", not sure if that breaks rules? Was thinking not as it's cost me plenty of time already.

We'll see...next round we'll try your host and see how it goes! :P

I thought the connection was the best we've ever had. I saw very little, if any, lag. When we're in a fixed host room and the host gets booted, we all get booted. That's what happened. That's why I always run a non-fixed room. If we ran it from a non fixed lobby instead of the open lobby i think it would be better. I play this game strictly from peoples lobbies, non-fixed, with mics and rarely have any problems.

Really good race from everyone. If I didn't have to make 2 extra stops it may have turned out better for me. Lol.

Tokyo test times:

Hards - 1:42.2xx
Mediums - 1:41.3xx
Softs - 1:40.8xx

So,

Tokyo R246
Laps: 35 (+1 formation lap)
PW1: 8 - 14
PW2: 22 - 28

Good to hear your input sass. I believe you're located on the most farthest position compared to the European participants. So if your connection was the best it must have been for all of us.
I agree the most preferred is the non-fixed private lobby. Don't like the mics though. A private lobby also gives the advantage that less uninvited people will join during quaifying or the race. It's not the first time that I have the to stop my qualification to kick somebody. One other thing is that more people can perform the weight penalty check procedure. To be honest, if LSD wants to be the host he gets my vote! 👍

Hi guys, race didn't turn out the best way for me, made a last minute setup change, and it went really bad for me, a lot of understeer and front tire wear, i couldn't keep up with LSD and Teeds,(I saw the replay and you guys had a nice clean race, that's the spirit of this series:tup:), I started on softs change it to mediums, and then on lap 33 I crash on last turn with heavy engine damage when chasing Green, as i was inside pit window I stop right away, and what had I done? forgot to change tires:dunce: so had to do another unnecessary pit stop on lap 44:ouch:

On the connection subject, I've been reading the manual and it goes like this:

Non fixed host rooms, everybody connects with everybody, meaning less lag but if someone have a slow crappy connection (like mine and JT last season) there are more chances of be disconnected.

Fixed host rooms, everybody connects to host and host send data back to everybody, so if someone have a slow crappy connection, have less probabilities of be disconnected, but unless host have a really fast stable connection there will be more lag..

Since me and JT have now hardwire connection, and if theres no one else with connections problems, I think we should go for non fixed host rooms.

Side note: I have been on severals Godoias nascar rooms, with up to 16 players with mic on and virtually no lag at all, of curse with players from all over the world it's not so easy.
He always open the room with non fixed host, quality on recommended (usually hight), and voice chat on normal(but we don't need this)

And that's it... just my 2cent...

LSD and teeds had an unbelievable battle from lap 1. The Longest side by side racing I've ever seen. Clean battle with almost no mistakes. Here is a replay of the tail end of our formation lap. The video shows our perfect 2x2 formation and the whole first lap. Awesome job guys, it was cool to see us all line up just how we're suppose to.

Also I always post pictures of our most recent race on my profile on GT.

Thanks to all the DTM guys who showed up to my SuperGT races on Sunday. I apppreciate it.

For some reason I can't get the video to appear as a link. If you copy and paste the url it will take you to my youtube channel. The video is worth watching. Let it load in 720p. The lack of lag is beautiful and it's from taken from teeds car. You can also watch my cat eating a mouse while your there.

Right so there were a few things that went on during the last race that I have had to have a look at. I'll try my best to describe them, say why they were wrong, what will happen and what will happen in future races in the same situation.

1. Greennarcotics. (Starting on different tyres to the ones he qualified with)
Qualified on Hards, started on Softs breaks rule 4.10.1 however, this was caused by the server disconnection resetting his tyres to the default setting. When we got restarted it was stated that no one should enter the car setup so that the car weights were maintained.
Decision: No Penalty
In future, after a similar server crash, drivers will be allowed to check there car settings and a full weight check entry to the track will be carried out before the restart. If a car then starts on a different tyre then a 10 second time penalty will be added to the total time.

2. bb_voodoo_daddy. (Tyre change irregularities)
Started on Softs, changed to Mediums (lap 20), changed to Softs (lap 21), changed to Hards (lap 41), changed to Softs (lap 43). None of this breaks any of our rules as all tyre compounds were used (Rule 3.3), all were changed during pit windows (Rule 3.3.1) and changes outside pit windows were for the same compound (Rule 3.5). However, it is an interpretation of the rules which was not intended. The reason for the tyre rules is for the three tyre compounds to be used for more than 1 or 2 laps each, in a three stage race.
Decision: No Penalty
I commend bbvdd for 'thinking outside the box' and coming up with an ingenious stratagy for not having to drive too long on hards but, its something which will not be allowed in future races. A new rule will be added which will require all drivers to race on each tyre compound for at least 1/5th race distance +1 lap. So in a 50 lap race, you must drive on hards for at least 11 laps for example. Penalty, in future, for failing to do this will be disqualification.

3. Greennarcotics vs SymP_4000 (lap 49 contact)
Towards the end of lap 49, greennarcotics attempted to pass SymP_4000. I doing so he caused an avoidable accident resulting in both drivers having to make a pit stop. The incident was reported by Greennarcotics and no complaint was received by SymP_4000. After reviewing the incident I believe that Greennarcotics was at fault in the incident as SymP_4000 maintained the inside line and track position during the overtaking manoeuvre. Although both cars pitted after the crash, the correct action would have been for Greennarcotics to allow SymP_4000 to re-take the position. However, Greennarcotics and SymP_4000 have agreed that it was difficult to tell in the situation who was at fault and that no formal complaint will be filed.
Decision: No Penalty
Had a protest been made in this case a penalty would have been given as it was clear from the replay that it was a poorly timed attempt at a pass from Green which ruined another driver’s race. In future, all official protests will be handled the same way as this one. Incident reviewed, both drivers discuss the incident, if required a third party review etc.

4. Teeds (Did not use all three compounds during race)
During pit window 2 (lap 39) teeds did not change from hards to mediums (Rule 3.3). The correct action in this case would have been to pit again the following lap and change to medium tyres.
Decision: Warning, no penalty
This is the first time that teeds has made this mistake and I was very close to giving a penalty for it. The penalty would have been the equivalent of a 10 second stop and go (40 seconds) and this is the penalty which will be given out to anyone who does not follow Rule 3.3, whether they gain an advantage or not.

In short, my initial penalties were going to be:
1 - No penalty
2 - 2 Minute penalty (1 minute for each Pit window change)
3 - Drop 3 places on start grid for next race
4 - 40 second penalty
But, after some thought and all the facts I have come to the following conclusions:
1 - No penalty
2 - No penalty
3 - No penalty
4 - Warning, no penalty

Full results to follow soon.

Eifel DTM (The Horsehead), by pipi_r6

I might have a got at making some others if no one else comes forward. I, more than likely, wont be able to race the Special Stages as i am moving house next weekend. Gutted (again) as i will miss out on the ss again. Cant wait until everything settles down again. (House move, new job) Crazy busy times!

I have one just haven't posted it yet. But I'm sharing it so guys can download it. Its called mini suzuka. The name is not a good description of the track. Ill try and post a pic tonight.

I tried to take a picture of my track but it wouldn't let me. I didn't create it so the game won't let me edit it and that's where you guys are taking picture from. But its a great track and I'm pretty sure you guys can download it from my profile since I'm sharing it. Maybe someone could go download it and make sure that it can be downloaded. I will be running it next week for practice so if you see me in a room I might be running it.

Hi guys, I'm not sure if I be able to do tonight race :grumpy:, my cousin anniversary, lets see if i can get there a little late...

Ok guys.

So 2 spots available. Pipi's Merc CLK and bbvdd's Audi TT-R.
Wont give up on Goruk just yet but might be another TT-R spot.

Post here if you want these spots and race tonight.

And if everyone clears their cache's and turns off their background music it might help with connection problems, apparently.
