When I say brostep, I don't just apply it to anything I don't like. Just anything that fits the Urban Dictionary quote in my last post. There are a few brostep songs I quite like.
Absolutely love this. Listened to it all the time when it came out.
Also this, although the best part is definetley at the start. The video is excellent too.
There are 2 things I don't like about brostep. The first is that producers are now "selling out". I don't blame them at all for doing it, I know I would. It's just that now their work is too commercial, cheap and tacky in my opinion anyway. Of course there are a few exceptions, but just look at Doctor P for example.
The second is that brostep has made dubstep a loathed genre. Look at this thread and the D&B thread. Most comments were from people who hated it. Had this been 5 or so years ago when dubstep wasn't over commercialized, there wouldn't be many negative comments. Undoubtedly this is because of the kind of people who listen to it. I don't know what it's like in America but over here it's primarily blasted out on public transport by chavs and COD kiddies. It's funny because 2 or 3 years ago they would've called it 🤬 as it wasn't cool.
I don't have anything against people who enjoy listening to it without being a brat, it's just that it seems most people who listen to it have no respect for its roots and just listen to it because it's cool to.
In response to the above videos, I would say I like the 3rd and 4th, hate the first and find the second one OK.
