You're thinking Group A Sierra's...
I thought super touring cars had 500bhp...

I dont think so, look at the lap times they are very close to last years. Theres probably been a small increase in turbo pressures but nothing major.
priesty_lfcNot seen as much of this as I would have liked, but what's the deal with Jackson and the Fords?
Haven't seen/heard nothing of them this year
Yeah what I said, I dont think there has been any major boosts.TheCrackerThey run really quite low pressure 0.7 or 0.8 bar (last season) and so far i don't think they've been much quicker this year.
I doubt they run at much more 320bhp. Tuning the engines for better torque characteristics is probably what is focused on. Getting better drive out of a slow corner is worth more than a bit more pull at the end of a long straight.
I wonder if he'll blow the doors off.
Michael Caine might be in a 3rd NGTC Airwaves Focus for Oulton Park.
@Gilham, apparently only if there is no drivers available as a last ditch stand in.
Makes you question the aithenticity of BTCC when you hear that sorta thing......
Meh, there is always more than one side to a story and I doubt Alan Gow would have it in for Aaron.
Remember that boost adjustments were continually being made and weren't based on driver performance but car performance.
Plus...if BTCC is about the show then surely Gow would be pretty happy with a rookie exploding onto the scene?
Every car had boost adjustments every race weekend last year. It wasn't to do with it "being sorted", the boost adjustments constantly fluctuated depending on track layouts and sometimes who was driving the cars.
Consider that Gilham's Civic was driven by 4 different drivers over the course of the season, all with different levels of ability. Before Williamson was in the car they had the relatively slow Robb Holland and the decent Howard Fuller. The boost would have been based on their performance, not Williamson's.
The S2000 cars should be way off the pace - they are no longer included in the boost equalisation.
Equalisation is never going to be perfect and there will always be people who are unhappy. But seeing as we consistently see a variety of drivers challenging at the front in what should be lesser machinery or teams, I very much doubt that Gow is trying to make it the "Plato and Neal" show.
Otherwise why the heck did he let Austin's Audi get so fast? Onslow-Cole's Passat? Adam Morgan's sudden turn around in form?
People keep moaning when Hondas or MGs win - but they should be winning. Team Dynamics and 888 are the biggest teams on the grid, with the biggest budgets and most experienced staff. They really should be fighting for wins every race.
The fact that the championship makes an effort to give other people a chance and mix up the grids for entertainment purposes is not a secret. Why people are twisting this to make it sound like its all scripted for Plato and Neal to win I don't know. Would you guys rather be watching the Yvan Muller show?
The reason Plato and Neal keep winning is because they are in the best teams, with the best cars and they are the best drivers. Its hilarious to suggest its "unfair" that Williamson can jump in an old Civic with a boost advantage (don't tell me that the S2000 Civic had less boost than the NGTC ) and for Gow to be unhappy at such advantages.
If everything was fair, Honda would quite clearly be dominating far more than they already are. Their car is clearly extremely quick even with a pretty much constant boost penalty.
