Just got to our hotel for the night. Croft was fun; we even got inside WSRs pit garage on saturday morning after talking to Dick Bennets. (My Aussie mate helped that lol) We got an indepth look at their BMWs and posed with Turks car. We also had a chat with Collard on the way. Bennets said "this is better than the old V8s, huh?" Corey replied "uhhh maybe...". Collards eyes lit up when he overheard talk about V8s saying "Oh I'd love to race a V8"
Another driver we got a long talk with on Saturday was Newsham who eventually reconised(?) me saying "Ah you look different without your pizza gear".
He gave us an extensive technical insight into how a Fwd touring car is setup, cambers, toe etc. He said they lost a bit of boost and only had 340 (ish) bhp.
While we were in WSR we also asked how much power they had Bennets said 360bhp.
Then come Sunday we got to WSR quick and managed a chat with each of the drivers. Collard was funny saying about the Rugby to Corey, we also may have told him to try get 2nd off the line
We didn't see Turks on Saturday so were surprised when he said "Oh, your the Aussie Dick was talking about to Corey"
. We ofcource wished him well and went off on our way.
After race 1 we went to the podium, got sprayed. Then we found Bennets again. We talked about the race and how Collard could have had 2nd if not for the spin. He also explained the reason for use of Softs for all the
cars. Corey slyly said we must be your good luck charm to which he said yeah you better stick around.
After race 2 we did the same thing but this time we managed to grab a pic with the Turks and have a quick chat with him. Corey asked him if given a chance would he try V8s to which he said "Oh aye! They'd be my cup of tea!" We said good luck trying to get a 3rd win and left him to deal with pesky interviewers and having another chat wih Bennets. He started off by saying you stuck around then, we talked if it stays dry there was a real shot they could take all 3 wins with the Fwds on the soft tyre.
Even with the rain Turks was sooo close. All in all a great weekend at Croft, back Inverness tomorrow.
