Here we are, a topic I've been thinking about for a while given Polyphony’s latest choices in cars for updates and recent backlash. With that in mind, I'd like to ask you guys a simple question: are there duplicates of some kind you genuinely want to see in the game?
Before answering this question, I've divided the concept of duplicates into a few levels for better understanding:
1 - The straight up duplicate: cars will absolutely no difference between each other apart from some very minor aesthetic and mechanical factors.
Examples:
Integra Type R ‘95 and Integra Type R ‘98
Clio R.S. Trophy ‘15 and Clio R.S. Trophy ‘16
GR Supra ‘19 and GR Supra ‘20
2 - The slightly different version duplicate: cars within the same generation in slightly different versions.
Examples:
M3 ‘89 and M3 Sport Evolution ‘89
R32 NISMO ‘90 and R32 V-spec II ‘94
Roadster ND ‘15 and Roadster ND NR-A ‘22
3 - The considerably different version duplicate: cars still within the same generation, but this time with a more “justifiable” difference between each other.
Examples:
S13 Silvia Q’s ‘88 and S13 Silvia K’s ‘90
S14 Silvia K’s ‘94 and S14 Silvia K’s Aero ‘96
22B Impreza ‘98 and Impreza WRX STi ‘99
4 - The facelifted duplicate: this is controversial, a technically different car but with huge similarities between each other.
Examples:
Lancer Evo VIII ‘04 and Lancer Evo IX ‘06
GTR ‘17 and GT-R T-spec ‘24
5 - The different purpose duplicate: an even more controversial one, these are cars from the same model and generation, but for absolutely different purposes.
Examples:
Jimny ‘18 and Jimny Sierra ‘18
Hiace ‘16 and HiMedic ‘21

With that said, here are three of some duplicate cars I would actually like to see still in GT7:
Honda NSX Type S Zero ‘97 - The best NSX ever made in my opinion. So much better than the NSX-R ‘92 present in the game.

Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo ‘96 - The first facelift of the GTO is by far my favorite one, plus it has the nostalgia factor from the very first GT.

Renault Sport Clio V6 Phase 2 ‘03 - The facelifted Clio V6 never gets enough love and it's absolutely stunning, it's as simple as that.

Now you can post. 😁
