E3 2010 Discussion Thread

Sony will have to really impress with Move to explain why I need something in my hand and maybe both hands!
I think Kevin Butler already explained this: Who wants to play a shooter going, "Pew, pew, pew?"

Plus the Eye can already do what Kinect can, minus the swivel motor, as shown with things like EyePet and their upcoming Kung Fu Live game that doesn't use a Move controller at all. Heck, they even already used the "You are the Controller" tag line for it last month.

Umm...I want to just point out Microsoft's Sync System. When it was first released, it plan flat, did not work. You'd tell it to play Jay-Z and it'd play Weird Al. Yeah, it was that bad. The voice recognition was buggy.

I see similar teething issues with the Kin. I can see, like the G4 hosts said, you'll be chatting with friends and suddenly your system will start looking crap up. Or you'll be racing in Forza, online and go to relax your arms before or during a race or something, and it'll steer you straight into a wall. Worst yet, I see playing people online in Halo Reach or something and you'll be talking smack and say suddenly, you get kicked out of the game and it pops up a bunch of stuff it's found in relation to something you've said. Maybe someone should make a machinima of that.

Robin, when you see how these motion controls are applied to "games" and what kind of games, you may change your mind.

The Sony conference begins in about 4 minutes. If Gt is released in 2011 i will be very upset.

Any voice recognition requires some degree of calibration and speaking specific commands. Singstar's voice control has it so that you can skip the voice calibration every time you start the game, but then it has questionable accuracy. And any background noise being picked up by the microphone can also interfere. Newer systems are supposed to be better about not needing calibration, but I imagine certain voice types work better than others.

but this IS Microsoft. They're not exactly known for being the brightest or for having high quality products right off the bat. I'm sure, eventually, it'll work great, but...also, I like the original code name better than Kinect.

Yea me too, Natal is a great name.

Is this all that people do now? Smite Microsoft for every single thing they do, but praise everyone else when they make the same (if not more severe) mistakes and say things that only a cocky moron would say?

Do I have to bring up Ken Kutaragi's PS3 statement, again?

Kutaragi was insane and I'm happy he is out of the picture. Why did he think 32mb of ram was good for PS2, why did he think 256 was enough for textures. Yeah his designs are flawed but he still did the gaming world a great favor by creating the Playstation brand.

nah, there's plenty of smite to go around. Wii's boring, Microsoft is buggy and boring and Sony's REALLY full of themselves and all high and might, despite the fact they've had some epic fails...that said, Sony's actually making money.

Don't you just love when people stretch the truth? "Like an interface unlike any other game...."

Yeah, I seem to remember seeing a similar interface in Skyward Sword. The only real difference is the execution, but then again Link isn't a sorcerer

Yeah, that was lame. He was good in Role Models, but now he just seems like someone I want to drop out of a window.

And why does Jack keep trying to play it off as if they're stealing the market from Nintendo? I finally get what their mindset is with the PSP, but they need to refrain from using the phrase "The only choice" when you're in a market with one company that (sometimes) makes the simplest adjustment to an already existent product and it still sells like it's no one's business.

I dont really care about EA as much as I used to. I take that back...dead space 2 looks crazy

Soon people will realise that the PS3 can do what both the Wii and the 360 can do, only better.

And maybe one day, you will too.

Um, I was talking about the PSP. Take those glasses off because they're blinding you.

@Shouden: I'll believe 11/2/10 when I'm actually playing it.

Night/Day cycles for GT5 confirmed, as well.

That GT5 trailer has overloaded the forums. So, if you're experiencing difficulties, that's why.
