I get the feeling that me bumping up the AI from 40, to 50, then to 60 etc. is going to bite me in the ass fairly soon then, judging by these comments

I've set the AI to 80 at first for the Lancia event and then to 90 for the H2 FWD championship and I've been winning pretty easily. I'll definitely need to lower it once I get to the faster cars

Thank you for providing feedback and bug reports on EA SPORTS™ WRC.

Huge amount of performance improvements and UI improvements, great to see. @PJTierney looks like the team has been flat out since before launch to get this list done. 👏🏻

Nothing about fixing the AI levels but there’s a slim chance that may come under a UI correction if the menu part was incorrect. However, I completely understand Codemasters focussing on the stability and performance, so zero criticism from me there.

... that's a LOT of fixes. :dopey:

And I'm in the same boat, I've shelved career mode until the fluctuating AI is sorted out, hopefully that's included tomorrow (or Soon™).

"Added throttle and brake vibration functionality to Fanatec pedals on PlayStation and PC."

Added? There was already vibration in the pedals and sliders in the menu. It didn't work properly, however (the brake pedal vibrates even when the car is stopped). Maybe this was a fix and not an add?

Thats a pretty impressive list on such a short notice. Good to see theyre on it.

"Fixed an issue where the driver would not appear during replays."

I've had this issue consistently with every onboard camera in every replay so far. Looks like the codriver is in a selfdriving car doing 180kph through fast bends lol

Sounds like good news for PC users.

Hopefully us console peasants wont get shafted too bad.

Although I have a pretty beefy rig and could always shelve the ps5 disc and move to PC, but still bummed for people who are not in a position to swap platforms IF cm decides to prioritize PC version more.
Also wish they would have included UDP support for consoles as well.

We shall see tomorrow!

Now that’s what I call a patch list!
Didn’t get that with kyloton.

Shows what I’ve been saying, the problems would be sorted and in very quick fashion.
The only problem is, none of the important bugs are in the patch notes. Things like:

  • Tire sets disappear when you change sets at service
  • Leaving a club at a service gives you a brand new, undamaged car when you return
  • AI totally broken
  • Times do not compute correctly in multiplayer, clubs and career
  • Points tallies are messed up in some modes
While the stability improvements will be welcome, the game is still in a very sorry state outside of Moments and Time Trial.

You have to bear in mind though, this patch will have been in the works from before the game launched, problems were acknowledged the day before the preorder launch and they will have been working hard to get this patch out ASAP.

Things like the AI, the club issues and stuff may not have properly surfaced until the game launched or something. There’s a lot of players seemingly unaffected by the AI bug for example so could easily have been missed or just not prioritised.

I've had a good time with the game today. Performance didn't seem to bad. I completed a lot of achievements, Had a good battle with 2 Fins online for the Estonia Quick play achievement and enjoyed the two new moments that appeared today.

Only have about 5 Achievements left and they are all Career oriented.

Happy the patch is coming tomorrow. Let's hope it delivers😊👍

They were good fun today, the Monte Carlo one was particularly enjoyable.

Didn’t experienced any of this in 30 hours of career mode. While I have a lot of stability problems on ps5.

AI totally broken what is about?

What length events are you running?

  • Because on long rallies, the AI just starts dropping off by 2-5 minutes all of a sudden.
  • AIs that DNF basically have their time frozen at that point and don't get penalties, so at the end of the rally the DNFers beat you by 10 or 20 minutes.
This has been reported multiple times and I have directly seen it in friends' screenshots/streams. I haven't bothered with career or custom championship yet because of this.

Medium lenght, 5 rounds. I think the longest stage I got was 18km. But i am still in junior wrc.

Running 90 AI.

Always winning with 20sec on avg. Largest gap I remember was 37sec.

Never got others winning causa they dnf.

I only lost mexico in h2fwd, i got beaten on stage 2 by 30sec out of nowhere.

Edit I also got my ass kicked in the polo event in Corsica. Quit on stage 2 as it was unplayable due to performance issues.

My career save has started crashing the game when it awards me the marquee target objective before I move to the next week. I'll try reinstalling the game as restarting my Xbox didn't help. If not I'll wait for the update next week before filing a bug report.
I found a workaround. The game crashes whenever I complete a benefactor objective and it displays the green completed message so if I skip the messages by mashing the A button repeatedly (like I was watching an EA Sports logo) it lets me in.

Hopefully the patch will fix this, otherwise it's off to the feedback forum for me. But at least I can continue my career in rally management and two (game) years' worth of work wasn't in vain.

Good news. I hope the way cars get dirty returns, which DR 2.0 had and which has characterized this saga so much. I suppose it is a period of adaptation to the new graphics engine.

Another little thing... there are car sounds that have gotten worse in this version, and others that have improved (Audi S1). The sound of the 309 GTI and other cars that sounded better in DR 2.0 lack forcefulness. But I understand that it is a period of adaptation.

Edit: And I was one of those who loved DR 2.0 and thought this one was less real. How stupid I have been. This game is a masterpiece of realistic physics. It has physical characteristics that sometimes seem like I'm dreaming. It is incredible what it transmits.

I love putting the hardened rear roll bar on, and the soft front one. In tight turns, the car lifts out of the corners. And the asphalt is wonderful these days. You just have to dedicate more time to it, and adapt.

Yeah same here. In WRC Junior I absolutely destroy the AI on 100 percent. Then in H2FWD I'm getting my as handed to me on 70 percent. I'm enjoying it so far but seriously considering waiting out a few patches..
I don't like the sound of that.

Patches on consoles are often later than on pc because they have to go through a process from Sony or Microsoft. On PC they can release patches whenever they want to.

To be honest I dont think one version will be prioritized above the other, they're all large platforms and most issues persist across them. Also, there's crossplay I think?

The cross play thing is likely why the patches will be timed to launch simultaneously. Especially when there’s significant fixes in place.

ACC is a good example of PC version being prioritized.

Crossplay kinda means they should release patches at the same time as PC.

I hope they a good job with the game on PC and consoles. It's an entertaining one for sure.

Thank you for providing feedback and bug reports on EA SPORTS™ WRC.
At least some of the smaller bugs are solved.
But this game has so many bugs, that it needs a lot of work to fix this.

For me one bug is really annoying that is the broken implementation of boost and regen.
ATM the throttle has to be at 0% and it needs a lot of braking pressure to regen.

The regulation (last updated version from the FIA site 2023-04-28) says on page 115:
4. VALID REGEN
• Maximum throttle pedal is 30%.
• The regen energy counter is active only when the front brakepressure is higher than 5 bars and the throttle pedal is below30%.
Link to the PDF of the regulation:
https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files/wrcsr_2023_2023-04-28_green-blue_0.pdf

This means you have to lower the throttle under 30% but not 0% and have to break (5 bar is a very low brake pressure). If I look at the onboards the regen is completed nearly in every corner while the driver only lowers the throttle (below 30%) and breaks normal to have boost out of every corner.
The implementation in EA Sports WRC is nothing compared to this. You have to lift the foot completely from the throttle pedal and the regen is very slow and needs lot more pressure than in the regulation defined. So we would have to over-break each corner to get an amount of regen with the throttle foot complete removed from the pedal.

This definitely removes a lot of driving fun from the Rally 1 cars.

ATM the throttle has completely removed and it needs a lot of braking pressure to regen.

The regulation (last updated version from the FIA site 2023-04-28) says on page 115:
4. VALID REGEN
• Maximum throttle pedal is 30%.
• The regen energy counter is active only when the front brakepressure is higher than 5 bars and the throttle pedal is below30%.

This means you have to lower the throttle under 30% but not 0% and have to break (5 bar is a very low brake pressure). If I look at the onboards the regen is completed nearly in every corner while the driver only lowers the throttle and have boost out of every corner.

That might be fixed based on the patch notes:

  • Made a number of hybrid regen calibration fixes to the Ford Puma Rally1 HYBRID.
  • Made a number of hybrid regen calibration fixes to the Hyundai i20 Rally1 HYBRID.
  • Made a number of hybrid regen calibration fixes to the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 HYBRID.
Guess we'll find out later this morning.

At least some of the smaller bugs are solved.

ATM the throttle has to be at 0% and it needs a lot of braking pressure to regen.

You didn't read the patchnotes did you? ;)
