Looking forward to playing it post patch, but I hope the AI gets rebalanced a bit soon. I've found it's better sticking to 5-6 stage rallies though.

I don't like the sound of that.
It's not great but I suppose it's fixable. It's allready mentioned in this thread that it's a known issue and we can also expect a bit more support than a certain other rally game received...

Just out of interest, what's your guilty pleasure car in WRC?

Mine is the Stratos 😍
Havent tried that many yet. The Corsa S2000 was a lot of fun. Similar to WRC Junior in terms of size, weight, power and drivetrain but a bit more loose and "chuckable" :)

AI doesn't bother me that much TBH.
I mainly focus on Clubs and Time Trial. :)

Performance fixes is my top priority and in the end also proper triple monitor support (adjust angles for side monitors etc).

ACC is a good example of PC version being prioritized.

Crossplay kinda means they should release patches at the same time as PC.

I hope they a good job with the game on PC and consoles. It's an entertaining one for sure.
Yeah for sure, and Elite Dangerous too. They dropped support for console altogether at one point.

Still this a much larger studio and publisher and they both have a name to hold up. I know EA is the devil in some peoples eyes but I think thats mostly because of predatory MTX and not so much in regard to supporting their games. Battlefield and Battlefront games for example always got long term support and in some cases pulled games back from the brink.

Anyway, at this point I have faith in them supporting this game and getting it where it needs to be :)

That might be fixed based on the patch notes:

  • Made a number of hybrid regen calibration fixes to the Ford Puma Rally1 HYBRID.
  • Made a number of hybrid regen calibration fixes to the Hyundai i20 Rally1 HYBRID.
  • Made a number of hybrid regen calibration fixes to the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 HYBRID.
Guess we'll find out later this morning.
Ok, I didn't see this hidden in the list of livery fixes. 10 Minutes to the update and than check if it's solved.

We received a question regarding one of the notes for today's update, regarding hybrid regeneration changes for the Rally1 cars.

To clarify, prior to Version 1.3 the power unit would only charge when the throttle was at exactly 0%.

This has now been changed to be any throttle value below 10%.

This should now make it easier to recharge if you're resting your foot on the throttle or have your pedal calibrated in such a way that it doesn't stay at 0%.

I wonder if that means it won't cancel boost lifting off throttle now too.

Now that’s what I call a patch list!
Didn’t get that with kyloton.

Shows what I’ve been saying, the problems would be sorted and in very quick fashion.
To be fair, Kyloton games never launched (on the series X at least) with screen tearing and stuttering issues like this.
Hopefully, the patch improves things.

I think it only cancels boost if you go below the boost threshold doesn't it? This video really helped me get my head round the hybrid system:

So it ends up being easier to lose your boost if you use the cautious setting. I think I'll be sticking to balanced from now on.

The boost is bugged because it cancels when you lift throttle, it shouldn’t matter how much it’s lifted, it should only cancel on application of brake or the deployment runs out. Only in the stage start phase should it cancel lifting off throttle.

I’m with you in that I understand how it’s working in the game, it just isn’t working how it should be vs real life.

Elfyn Evans's Yaris in today's Moment was a real piece of cachu but I managed to beat Ogier to the Guanajuato winner's sombrero.

Only had time to do one stage at Monaco, seemed great at first but then halfway some screen tearing started to appear. Not unplayable bad or anything, but I'll have to spend more time with the game. (Series X)

Thanks for the info.
Unfortunately this is not how it works in reality, maybe they can not read the number 30 correct ...
Let's see if it helps to open a new bug in HQ EA answers.

Tearing doesn't bother me quite as much as stuttering, I just like smoothness. If there's a noticeable improvement that's good. This won't be the last patch.

The three Japanese stages I just did seem less stuttery to me post update. The career crashing bug is still present though, will make a report on the forum once I get round to it.

For those having an issue with inconsistent AI. Are you exiting the rally and coming back to it as I heard this may be causing the AI to default lower when you load back in.

Gameplay/Replays look more vibrante and saturated. Definitely an improvement on PS5 but now I have général caméra glitches when the camera goes from 'tv' to 'onboard' and vice versa. I have less stutter on Monte too 👍

Photomode is still broken but I now have brake-glow and setups load and save correctly 🥳

Is it possible to see what cars the AI are using in career mode? It only seems to show the team name which is a bit disappointing.

I'm also curious if the 205 is just slower than the other H2 FWD or if there really is an issue with the AI.

Hi guys, I am losing patience with this game. I initially downloaded it via Steam & all worked well, then I got a message saying there was a problem. I removed the download & re-downloaded it again & since then it has been abysmal! I stopped using it until today, the patch is here, v1.3. But whenever I start the game, it shows v1.2 & nothing has changed, I cannot get the car off the start line. Any ideas please, I get the note on Steam that the update is available but I can’t see how to download it.

v1.2 of the game is using the 1.3 patch. Not sure why things are like that, but it was confirmed by PJ elsewhere that v1.2 is the latest. I think 1.1 was the previous version.
