Had a little tinker with the livery editor earlier, it does seem rather basic in that it has neither a Mirror function or numerical sliders (that I could see) to help you gauge size/placement of decals e.t.c. Relying on the Mk1 eyeball is incredibly fiddly to say the least.

I am loosing setups again 🫤. When I load a setup all defaults to minimal changes. Don't know why this is happening again. Frustrating 😑

After the I saved 2 setups. 208 and Stratos, it seems that with the third save all others corrupt or simply don't load correctly. Trying to go back to working settings but so far : 0 success.

Anyone else experiencing this?

It's a bug. I've seen lots of reports of it.

You can't even zoom into the car to allow smaller decals to be placed accurately, it's certainly a challenge

Happened to me once last night. Loaded a setup and noticed everything was either at the left most position on the slider or in the middle....

I’ve never used a livery editor in my life, but decided to give it a go to try and recreate some glaring omissions and I’m quite happy with how they’ve gone. Not sure how to post pics, so you’ll have to take my word for it - but I started doing the 2007 livery for the Citroen C4 (easy because it’s essentially just plain red with a white roof and decals) then happy with that, did the Gauloises Xsara then went more ambitious with the 2006/7 BP Focus. And yeah I know it’s quite limited in terms of logos so you have to approximate and a bit stupid that you can’t copy one side to the other, but for someone like me with such limited experience/artistic ability to come up with approximations of those schemes that I think look fairly decent, that’s pretty good I think. The Focus was the hardest but if you just connect shapes together to make the scheme, it’s fairly easy to do.

@MagpieRacer Re: AI difficulty sliders resetting, I did 4/5 stages of the Sardinia JWRC last night while adjusting the difficulty at the 2 service areas mid-event and they were functioning normally. Came back on this afternoon to finish the event (stages 4 and 5 were duplicates so I stopped after 4) and the AI were well off-pace for that last stage.

So yeah, for people persevering with Career mode right now; make sure to quit when you're at a service stop if you want the AI to behave themselves. :dopey:

Funnily enough I made the 2007 C4 aswell today😂

I wanted to use the C4 in one of the clubs im in and as much as I like Petter Solberg I feel it needs that all red Citroen/Total livery for full effect.

I've been a bit spoiled with Forza Horizon 5's paint booth where one can easily make any logo you want with ease so It's a shame to be stuck to the EA generic sponsor logos and limited tools (no mirroring Etc) but I feel it does the job if you squint. (I'll share a pic when I get on later)

That’s one I did as well funnily enough, mines in the livery thread further down. @m355y I also did the Gauloises Xsara from 2006 too. We clearly have very similar tastes.

Once I've finished the Stratos I'm gonna attempt a Rothmans Escort MK2 and a Belga version. Plus a Martini 037 and Delta S4.
If they don't improve the editor then I'll report back next year lol

Yeah there’s a few I wanna do, just have to find the time needed. Seen someone do the Red Bull C4 which I want to try. The blue Diac Megane, OMV Xsara, Solberg WRT Xsara, Gronholm Impreza, try and recreate the Escort WRC on the cossie.

Corsica +.

This car is incredible. It is a machine, difficult to pilot. And it's easy to lock brakes. I would like to shake the hand of each and every one of the developers of this wonderful simulator.

They had and do not have any competition, and yet they decided to make a game with a high dose of quality.

I’m starting to love this game now. Now it’s patched, now I’ve worked out how to make sure the AI doesn’t lose the ability to turn a steering wheel between stages, I’m starting to feel like this is the Rally Game Of My Dreams TM that I’ve always wanted. It kicks the KT games straight into the ‘not installed’ bin anyway. Funnily enough I’ve been 100% treating this as DiRT Rally 3 so far, I haven’t even tried the 2023 WRC cars yet, I almost forget they’re there.

My humble attempt at the '07 C4 Livery. I really hope we get some licensed liveries with future VIP Passes instead of the F1 like multicolored things in this pass. One livery for most of the cars isn't good enough. Especially when some of the cars dont even have their primary. Henning Focus and Petter C4 instead of the factory Citroen and M-Sport liveries Etc... Escort MK6 Maxi doesn't even have a proper livery, It's just a generic made up one.

Or even better, EA/Codies allow The livery modding community from DiRT Rally and DR2 to carry on with the great work they were doing in those games.

(It's great I can actually worry about such things like this now as the performance for me with the update is so much better)

Yes, I encountered this

I noticed this last night, came off the game at service. Came back later and got beat by 27 seconds over the whole rally(100 difficulty) . I was thinking "why you not dropping off.🤣

I thought the Marlboro Peugeot 206 livery would be really easy but it isn’t - so many tiny details like the white highlights around the rear lights, the Marlboro logos, the stripe around the bottom, I’ve definitely got the livery creation bug now. Might try the the 1998 Mitsubishi livery next.

Yeah I didn’t bother with the finer details on the Peugeot. Just went basic. Don’t know if the bugs are fixed on it where the white didn’t cover the red.

Try adjusting projection depth (LB/RB), that should fix it.

Maybe by then they'll have introduced sharing so we can all get to benefit from your hard work instead of merely looking on in envy. Great job.
