Eh... scratch that about .100 to 8th. Just jumped to .3xx. I'm never one to give up, but I just don't think I have .3xx left in me. I don't see how you guys do it.
Anyone want to help a racer out with some much needed tips? I bought a wheel, an LCD, built a driving rig, and had my PS3 YLOD on me after practicing alllllll week. I was hoping to at least get a trip to Orlando out of it.
Everyone seems to be running without Active Steering, what does it do? Why do you turn it off? I have been running with Active Steering. When I turn it off - I get messed up.

Active steering basically helps to keep the car "in line" by using steering input without you having to make the "full correction." it can slow some fast guys down by correction of slip angle when they don't want it to be "corrected." That being said, two of the top guys in the west in GT academy are using it while they set their fast time so it isn't always a bad thing and it is still more than possible to spin with it enabled.
1) close the forum, and don't check the rankings
2) run 20 laps at Eifel, trying to be smooth on turn-in so you don't scrub speed
3) run 20 laps at Indy focusing on hitting your marks
4) 15 minute break (go outside or something...making sure to obey #1)
<repeat 2 through 4>
Friday night I took off about .450 combined - I ran at Eifel for 90 minutes, and got my fast lap at Indy after FIVE laps. Yesterday morning I ran for just about 100 minutes or so at Eifel, split up between a couple 30-40 minute sessions, finishing with a :16.7. Time can be taken off without running endless laps - just medium sessions in a good state of mind.
You should get another 50-75 laps at each track, definitely give you a chance to take off a few tenths or even 1/2 second combined. 👍
