Posted a 17.3xx at Eifel and a 40.4xx at Indy. Only need 0.100 to make it into the 8th spot overall. Don't know which track to hunker down and grind :(

Mind you, both those times are really fast for me. It will be tough to beat either.

2:17.5 for me. I've been following Dr's ghost and each of my best laps I screw up the first sector (down 5 tenths) then I pull him in the 2nd sector to where I'm just off of his bumper, but then I screw up something in the 3rd sector.......bloody hell.

Eh... scratch that about .100 to 8th. Just jumped to .3xx. I'm never one to give up, but I just don't think I have .3xx left in me. I don't see how you guys do it.

Anyone want to help a racer out with some much needed tips? I bought a wheel, an LCD, built a driving rig, and had my PS3 YLOD on me after practicing alllllll week. I was hoping to at least get a trip to Orlando out of it.

1) close the forum, and don't check the rankings

2) run 20 laps at Eifel, trying to be smooth on turn-in so you don't scrub speed
3) run 20 laps at Indy focusing on hitting your marks
4) 15 minute break (go outside or something...making sure to obey #1)
<repeat 2 through 4>

Friday night I took off about .450 combined - I ran at Eifel for 90 minutes, and got my fast lap at Indy after FIVE laps. Yesterday morning I ran for just about 100 minutes or so at Eifel, split up between a couple 30-40 minute sessions, finishing with a :16.7. Time can be taken off without running endless laps - just medium sessions in a good state of mind.

You should get another 50-75 laps at each track, definitely give you a chance to take off a few tenths or even 1/2 second combined. 👍

Everyone seems to be running without Active Steering, what does it do? Why do you turn it off? I have been running with Active Steering. When I turn it off - I get messed up.

They don't turn it off, it is always off unless you've turned it on before. Also on the website leaderboards it seems to be saying that everyone has active steering turned off, but in the game leaderboards it will tell you.

Anyway, been a good time battling it out with ya for the last couple of hours lol 👍

Active steering basically helps to keep the car "in line" by using steering input without you having to make the "full correction." it can slow some fast guys down by correction of slip angle when they don't want it to be "corrected." That being said, two of the top guys in the west in GT academy are using it while they set their fast time so it isn't always a bad thing and it is still more than possible to spin with it enabled.

Thx

Last night, i came out of the last sector .6 seconds ahead of my old lap (wouldve been a 2:16.8) but i lost it all in the last corner, came out with a 17.2.. FML

It's no use (but I do appreciate your advice!). I'm missing the good state of mind part. I'm too spent from a week of endless hours of practice and lack of sleep. I can't even get below a 17.9 at Eifel now. These past couple hours, it's felt like something is holding both cars back. I'm getting full throttle according to the screen, but they just seem to be lacking something.

If I can't pull a miracle out of my ass before this ends, is anyone interested in buying a 27" 1080p monitor and a Fanatec GT3RS Clubsport package? <<< YLOD'd PS3 makes both of those things not of much use after tonight (borrowing a PS3 from a friend). Great monitor and the wheels/pedals have only been used this past week.

I'm glad I don't have to see this track again. I had big issues with T4-T6 until Saturday and I had problems finding a good line for T22.
