Yeah I wish I had used my GTP_ tag. Oh well.

Sorry man, I'll buy ya a samwich in FL!
I agree and disagree. The problem with using a brand new track that is also extremely difficult to learn on short notice is........ that those with the most spare time have a much larger advantage now.
Like I said, I agree and disagree. The people with more time will always have a greater advantage, that's just the way it is. BUT by using a track of this nature we heighten the advantage. And when more time is concerned, the ability to learn a track quickly isn't as much of a factor considering how close the competition is. If we really wanted to get crazy, we could have the max # of laps be say 100. 1 week to do 100 laps on custom tracks (keeps people from practicing). This would show the skill of being able to learn the track quickly while taking away most of the advantage afforded to those with tons of free time.
That would be too easy to exploit. Pausing just before the finish line and restarting would largely negate the 100 lap limit. A better solution would be a timer and you can only practice Track A for X hours throughout the week.
Of course, this would mean I couldn't justify my unemployment as practice sessions, so this is a horrible idea!

True, what you could do is set it up so that as soon as your lap starts it counts as a lap and you have no choice but to finish it.
That wasnt my quote.
That wasnt my quote.
If it happens, I'll take you up on that! Go Team Appalachia!
I just saw your 2'16... Way to keep pushin dude!
DAMMIT! i just cracked the 2:17 mark and then this happens xD
good job though.. damn thats fast...
Any reason you're still running TCS on 5?
LMAO i just noticed that, i think i was trying to see if tcs would help with my throttle control issue. maybe it did considering i lost .4 seconds off my old time..
thx for pointing that out i wouldve never known >.<

Don't suppose anyone wants to share....?
Choate51Sure I'll share.
Right pedal = GO
Middle pedal = No Go
Left pedal = WTF?
R1600TurboI think I just ran fast enough to lock myself in. Yay.
Congratulations RT
Anyone having trouble loading reference files in the data analyzer? I wanted to compare where I was getting on full throttle and exit speeds between two hot laps, but it wouldn't let me load the other replay or any replay, for that matter.
One thing I've noticed with the car at this track is the man-handling finesse that's needed. I was behind my ghost until the last set of turns where I lifted off the throttle and turned in about the same time, and amazingly I blew past my ghost to top my time.
This is a question for everyone-what driving style are you using? Are yall attacking the corners/tires screaming at apex, or a "smooth is quick" style here?
I got down to a 2'19.4xx Monday night, but cant seem to improve. I've tried to 'dial it back' a notch, but then my ghost just pulls away.
Edit: are yall pitching on entry, or doing something to get a slip angle? I was loving Madrid but this track has got me.
blindsidefive0Smooth with inputs, but tires should be screaming. You don't have to throw the car to get the tires to make noise. You should be making smooth arcs throughout the entire track, but if you don't hear the tires or if it feels like you are on rails - you are going too slow.
Once this round is in the books, would any top guys be willing to upload a replay of their fastest lap to youtube or something similar?
Since we all need to find the best lines ourselves, I think it would be really interesting to see where I figured out the right approach and what I missed.
