What gap? There is no exploit.
There are areas all 4 wheels can go off the track but it isn't faster that way.
And I suspect replays will be back.
I'm seconding EERS here. I'm going to do a 17.4 at least, probably tonight, and I'm hungry for more. I have went 4 off in many areas, all of which the lap has went red. In many cases, you can have a full two wheels off and be OK, but that's within the acceptable rules. There are a few points where even 2 off will penalize you, which has ruined some great laps for me (times that would be put top 3 in the northeast), and provided great frustration. The solution - don't go 2 off in those areas!
Eifel is a very difficult track, and Godzilla requires a godzilla specific driving technique. Combine that with delicate comfort softs, and this track is fitting for a round 3 "find the best in the country" time trial. If I get beat, I got beat by fast guys that are better than me, fair and square. Line is key here, patience is key here, not overdriving it is key here, and being on the throttle (in some cases where you think you shouldn't be) is key here.
I know that the top times being posted are legit, because I know what I am capable of clean, and it's right where App-Kris is sitting right now, with all of the usual suspects at the top. I don't know that I'm good enough to string a 16.9 together, but it's possible. I don't think any cheating is going on at either track. It's just the fastest guys are now free to do their thing without the weaker drivers cheating and skewing the results. Just need to hunker down, analyze, and improve. For me, this means that as I approach the limit, sometimes I have to go backwards again before I go forwards. I think a lot of drivers have a hard time doing this...but I've found it's vital in TT'ing vs qualifying/racing, (the latter being the better of my current simulation skill set.)
