what i'd actually rather have happen, is once the round is over, have everyone upload their best laps, so we can see what everyone did different. without the replays on, its about finding YOUR fastest line.

Agreed, and there are MANY fast lines on this track. Unfortunately for me, out of my 25 laps or so on this track, only 4 have not been red!

The first night i ran on the track i think i got almost every lap red. Once you figure it out its actually a really fun track.

Good points. I'd love to see the differences.

I messed up the last corner hard core and spun out, invalidating my next lap. So I spent that lap just sliding the car around. :dopey:

Oh don't get me wrong I LOVE the track, I just can't seem to resist sliding wide in certain places :D

Lol I did the same exact thing last night and posted a 18.9 on the ensuing red lap  1.5 faster than my current time, but at least I know I can do it and on slow start lap! :P

My problem is that I'm still in the testing phase of this track where I'm sliding all over the place trying to find a "trick" to being fast around certain corners. Goal is to match that 18.9xx tonight and stop goofing around so much :dopey:

ive intentionally slid the car thru a few corners to get the car pointed the way i wanted. some corners it actually helped. others however i just wound up getting redlapped.

also for the love of all things holy WATCH OUT ON THE EXIT TO TURN 13!!
i went 2 off on the exit and the moment i hit that little patch of asphault jutting out from the wall it redlapped me! D: not even 4 off i watched the replay to check.

LMAO that's EXACTLY where I consistently get my redlaps :D Turn 13 and I have yet to come to an agreement.

That's happened to me three times. Guess it doesn't matter about having four off in the "grass". It's four off and you see red no matter what...

The problem with the exit of that corner is there is a small dip on exit that makes the car slide out a bit more depending on your angle of attack.

Once this round is in the books, would any top guys be willing to upload a replay of their fastest lap to youtube or something similar?

Since we all need to find the best lines ourselves, I think it would be really interesting to see where I figured out the right approach and what I missed.

I was planning to do so after the round closes, I have a few 2:16.9 replays saved and I like making videos. :dopey:

I just had a tear leave my eye.... Attempting to set some sort of respectable time @ Eifel, was truly on pace for my first "sub 20" time(after getting some very helpful split times from a GTP member) and SNAP !!!!!! My G27 steering wheel is no longer attached to the base assembly(where the motor is)...... :ouch:

To further "slap me in the face" - no Best Buy in Oregon has another G27, and Best Buy is where I am looking since I have a 3 year extended warranty for my G27(with about 1.5 remaining, she's old..). :nervous: Probably going to be "bowing out" with 1 lap set @ Indy(comfortable I can be fast quickly there) all my attention was set to learning Eifel - which I have yet to do... So bummed right now, time for a soda.

Put up a thread on here man, find out if there's anyone in your area with a wheel who'd be willing to help you out.

My DFGT made a weird noise on me last night. It's pretty much brand new, so hopefully it doesn't crap out on me before Sunday.

Good idea..... I didn't really think about that possibility.. 👍

I guess I'll just post it in the "GT5" main area and if the mod's want it in another spot they'll "move it" ya? Thanks choice !

I've only spent about two hours on eiffel and I've gotta say they really chose a car/track combo that has an almost infinite time available. I'm gonna put in some serious time today, assuming I stop procrastinating.... Iracing is just too damn... awesome

1600kg, AWD Skyine with street tires... around a unique circuit that consists of nothing but long, strung together sweepers. Lol it's like the promoters wanted point out the disadvantages of AWD while making sure to hide everything good about power from all four wheels.

No problem man, if I wasn't 4000 miles away I'd let you borrow my DFGT

I feel like i am taking the wrong line somewhere... i just don't know where. My biggest worries are T19-22. I just feel like i am doing something completely wrong. It reminds me of Istanbul... i HATE turns like that lol. Can any of you top running guys share your split times please? So i have an idea where i might be losing time?

I've been working hard to break into the 19's...I know I have it in me as I've seen the times in the different splits. I would also like to see some splits from the top drivers...I can't see how you guys are getting 17-18's. It would be much appreciated.

I'm shooting for a top 16 time, but know, at this point, that top 8 is out of the question.

Right now, I'm not even sure I can be in the Top 20 in the West, let alone the Top 8. My turn-in is too slow for this type of course, even with lowering the feedback and I dare not leave the car in a higher gear around certain corners or I face the wrath of magnifying the understeer by 5.

Having said that, I do have a 2:19.264 in the books and the split times for that are as follows:

T1: 26.961
T2: 1:17.507
T3: 1:55.355

The bad part is that it should had been a 2:18.8 but I bungled at least three corners in that run. Then again, I've only put in two hours so far so maybe I can at least save face by Sunday.

You 2:16 gods are NOT living beings, I swear. I did 30 laps tonight and barely got within 4 tenths of my fastest time. :yuck:

Good grief! My time is an absolute embarrassment, then. :guilty:

I wish I had the time to run 30 laps a day. I don't think I have run 30 laps on both tracks combined at this point.

Just spent another hour at eifel and now sit @ 2.17.253. I know there's 2 tenths there somewhere.

I just blew my sub 17.250 lap.. frustrating, but I'll be back at it tomorrow! I can see a 17.0 if I do absolutely everything perfectly..

i found where ive lost time at eifel, ive lost at least 3 tenths between turn 22 and the finish.. i was going completely flat into turn 22, dropping my rear left tire over the rumblestrip on the left, sliding into it in second gear, lining the car up, then dropping the car into third and entering the next corner. gas completely floored.

its a good thing theres a data analyzer, so i can tell where my kamikaze spirit is costing me time lol >.<

Maintenance Notice on the home screen for tonight. Maybe replays are going back online? I sure hope not. Otherwise, I think it might turn into a big game of follow the leader.
