Did another couple of laps at the nordschliefe this morning. I played around with the BB and got down to an amazing 8:48.162. The car is still so good. It seems like I love it more each time I drive it.
I was at work when this popped up, didn't really register just how fast you went , man that is very fast, nice going 👍.

Starting to get a feel for the track and what the Merc can do here after a few warm up laps I managed to guide her round the track in 8:45.041.
Really, is that all :sly:, ok that's freakin' getting out off hand, I can't even see your tail lights anymore  (how many coffees?), nice going sir ,
but there may still be a chance once the race starts, from the online race we did being behind on the long stretch has some advantages (slipstream) which this car seems to take full advantage off :mischievous:, just have to keep an eye and still see those tail lights .

The difference is, we can usually understand what you're saying ;) some of @TurnLeft's leave me like :odd:  :banghead: :And the others

We'll settle this on the track.

I was at work when this popped up, didn't really register just how fast you went , man that is very fast, nice going 👍.

The key is keeping the rear in check. Although, now @RMan72 has thrown down the gauntlet. I think I can find a couple of seconds, but to match him, I'm not sure.

The new seasonal TTs are pretty good too. Just did the Nurburgring DT with the 300SL and found 5,234 points. It's such a balanced car.

So, the wife did go out and the kids did go to bed (eventually), I literally dusted the DFP (it was pretty bad :embarrassed:) and went to Trial Mountain for a warm up. Only when I did two laps without spinning did I dare head to Germany.

The car is quite a different drive with the wheel - I found the back end was prone to wander and once it had gone so far there was nothing I could do but hold on for the ride. With the DS3, the instant opposite lock can get you out of trouble, but with the wheel only prevention (as in being real smooth, like) really works.

Once I kept repeating to myself "early brakes, slow-in fast out" I found more joy 💡. To the 'Ring!

One of the problems I have with the Nordschleife is keeping up concentration - my mind will wander, I'll miss a brake or turn point, even forget where I am :dunce: and with this car/tyres you can't make corrections so easily without that back-end mercilessly reminding you of your pitiful failure.

Nevertheless, second lap was a tiptoeing 9:10.xxx then a load of spins, bent metal, restarts and frustration as I tried to push harder. I fiddled with BB a few times, as I found the high rear was bringing the back-end round too much under braking on some corners (no doubt you fast guys use this to your advantage). I ended up with 5/8.

After I regained composure (don't drive angry!) and cleared my mind, I got a 9:03.281

Not too bad really, considering I don't play the game a huge amount and have not driven either the Nord or 0 ABS for a while. The car is so sweet when you get the measure of it (and the track), and I had plenty of fun/twitchy moments - accidentally sideways through Schwedenkreuz at 110mph, a complete 360 after clipping the grass into the final complex but keeping a clean lap, a 150mph back end twitch under the bridge ...

Great car, great challenge - I hope to try it again 👍

Hello again :) I'm glad you had the chance to experience the thrills from behind the wheel and thanks for coming back to tell us about it. A nice time too :tup:That's somewhere around where I'll be if I can keep the 🤬 thing on the road :banghead: I suffer the same concentration issues round there most of the time :(. And I'm glad you found it a challenge, the car is notorious for having issues with the rear, near the handling limits. We tried to make a car that will drive well, within those limits but become a bit more difficult if you push it too hard. We didn't mean it to cost you so dearly in repairs though :ouch: Sorry about that

Thanks for the pictures too. The B+W one is awesome

Yes @RMan72 is good at keeping us on our toes and I find he helps us push our limits a bit more 👍, and I can say the same for you ;), you've been driving this very well and you're not that far off 👍, and knowing @danbojte is probably going to have another go at it when he has some free time so we'll all have to squeeze some time from some place on the track .

A bit more testing tonight & i managed a 8:52.121
A couple of small mistakes & a bit too slow in some of the turns. I'm guessing my time should have been around 8:48 something.
Great start Spooxx 👍, If you see you can get into the 8:48's by practicing, go for it man, my goal will be to get under 8:50, if I get that on this track I'll be really happy :).

Once I kept repeating to myself "early brakes, slow-in fast out" I found more joy 💡. To the 'Ring!
The only problem with that is you have to repeat it 256 times every lap , after a while I hear my conscience yell "ah Sut Up".

This is exactly the same problem I have , I can maybe do 1 lap with decent concentration, after that it and I become hazardous :ouch:.

Great time for this track, I've done a lot of involuntary practice from tuning/testing this one, was the same with the C1 at Sierra, these long long tracks with too many curves are very difficult to remember for me. (yes @Thorin Cain & @Brewguy44 because of my age :grumpy:) I'm really happy you joined in and shared with us and hope we'll see you here more often 👍.

I will update the Scoresheet, trophies and photo gallery tomorrow, I've got the concentration level of a lama bean this morning and I'm going on a 12 hour shift so I won't attempt this today, just hate it when I have to go back and correct something .

Sold as seen, if anyone wants a project.

I took the new one drifting and to Brands to earn some money back :sly:.

4915 at the Nurb GP drift, and a fairly easy win over the Dino at the Brands classic race - great fun there 👍.

@RMan72
I've added this one to the C1 Corvette's warehouse :D, I've also started testing to see if we could maybe make a race between the C1 & the 300SL , trying to find a track where they would be pretty even, if anyone has some ideas please feel free to post them.

Today: 8:46.363. 👍
I'll get that done tomorrow, nice lap Dan . I'm going to have to get out of my excel workbook and get back on the track or lord knows I might just be left there standing all alone . It's been a long beautiful day out in the country side helping my brother in law fix his summer cottage, man I haven't worked this hard for a long time, I think I'll just do the potato couch thing and watch TV for tonight :).

Nice work my friend 👍 2 seconds shaved off an already great time
Did I miss a post where you gave your time  ? If so my apologies TC :embarrassed:, if not can you post it please :D.
