When they played the German national anthem I thought 'hey how come their playing the ending theme to a Formula 1 race?' seriously.
Wow, Holland are still not performing well. It took some old style 'hoof it up to the striker tactics to actually threaten the German defence, which looked a solid. Ruud's goal was a feat though.

Latvia played with a lot of balls.
Those players will earn a fraction of what most of the Czech team earns and will probably spend their days as postmen or milkmen. I noticed that there was hardly any appealing from the Latvians when at least two free kicks should have been given outside the Czech box. In fact, the only arguing with the referee from the Latvian side was from Marian Pahars...but that's what playing in the Premiership does to you.

Portugals performance this time round was very un-sausage like, although Russia were missing key players and the keeper didn't help by handling the ball outside of the box.

The future looks doubtfull for Totti, as he spat at Denmarks Christian Poulsen.
Italy didn't play well at all in their first match, I was more impressed by the Danes. Oh and the guy with the coolest name, Jesper Grønkjær is back in the Denmark squad.
