I really wish people would stop blaming the game, the code, or whatever else there is to place blame on because whomever it was they got into a session with wasn't what they were expecting -- it's their fault, not the game.

As for the penalty, did you crash into anyone else as a result?

well honestly im aware its near impossible to make it fair, but clean races are an utter rarity in the public races, i think they should of put their multiplayer time into the single player, but maybe thats not where the money is

you could put the opponenets to ghost if you know what i mean, so u cant hit them and vice versa. Not as exciting but the fastest driver would win.

I rarely take part in random races as it always turns into some bashfest...but thats not the fault of codemasters. Setting up a private lobby and playing against players who you know are clean and fair is the way to go, thats what i do and you cant beat it

Lol. Im organizing a race tomorrow, Around 6PM [BST] at Monza, 50% race distance, All assists off except for Auto Manual gears

You're on a sim racing forum and you're advocating that the singleplayer AI in any racing game could provide a more genuine, exciting challenge than online racing?

This is like the GT5 players who say they have finished the offline game and refuse to go online, find a weekly race night club, or even give it a shot.

Sounds fun. BST is 5 hours ahead of EST right? So your 6 pm will be my 1 pm if I got that right. If so I'll send a friend request in the morning. I'd like to play more F1 2011 online than I did with F1 2010. And since I am just now getting into the game because of my dfgt issues lol, I will retire from the race if I am causing problems for whatever reason. I do race clean though.

Quick question: If say a psn friend of mine wants to join a lobby that I am in, does he just have to join my session or if it's a private session does he have to be friends with the host? Sorry but I am not familiar with the online portion of F1 2011 yet.

Bummer to the whole getting bashed online is there are good/fun drivers out there to meet and drive against. Just too bad you have to endure the 'other' ones.

No, all you need to do is select 'invite friends' and then send

Was just in a Nürburgring race, multiple drivers weaving all over the road intentionally to prevent overtakes. Guy put me right in the wall, from P2 to last, lost wing too. That what you mean?

get pole at monza, then 3 others batter me into the wall, then one pushes my carcass of a vehicle along the ground like an ant dragging its prey, the ant goes on to win the race while i pit for a new wing

Five races in a row now, completely taken out in turn 1 or 2, as in some other guy plants me into the wall or I end up facing the wrong direction while everyone passes by. The only decent thing is that if you quit the session it doesn't affect your rank.

I like to start at the back. You avoid all the carnage as you find your way through to the lead. Well, at least that's what I've done. If I am near the front I just use all my KERS because no one else ever uses it lol. If your in the middle then you're screwed. But so far I have about 20 wins from 30 races. 👍 Loving the rank system too.

online multiplayer has always sucked with every game. Soon there will be glitched leaderboards, and whatever else. Every online game, there is glitchers and cheaters whose life depends on being #1 on a leaderboard or race/match.

@Kazanski agreed 100% well said. on the second day i saw players online , they did not even tried the single or carrier mode, just went online to make rank as soon as possible to prove he is a great driver.. yes youre the number one formula one driver my friend. and everyone else clean races are so rare agreed also.

Some are really noobs but you have them in every game.

Making an organized competition with mates his much fair much nicer and much better.

I have done one race online so far. A quick match at Kuala Lumpur. I was in 4th place and by the end of the first corner I was in 10th or dead last. Lol I quit that race that second. I know I'm not fast by any means but I do race clean and I hate people that race with no regard to others...

I'm doing fine with random rooms. You get the occasional scrub that intentionally puts you off, but I actually rather enjoy dodging the punters and getting easy positions as a result.
