Formula 1 will be the first series to compete there. There is absolutely no way Bernie will let Indycar race there before Formula 1 does. Although he cannot prevent Indycar from ever racing there - that's anti-competitive - he will have a contract that allows Formula 1 to be the exclusive open-wheel racing series to compete at CotA for a few years.

Are you really that petty? The post you are quoting is almost a year old. Not only are you off-topic here, you seem intent on starting a flame war by taking something out of context simply because I told someone off for ignoring parts of the AUP in a completely different discussion two days ago. So I'll just leave it for the moderators to handle.

Sounds like a hefty conspiracy and a lot of speculation, I also made notice to commenting about an old post so thanks for pointing that out. I'm not starting any war, just pointed out truth. Oh and another point if you have issue with me or major accusations to make I think it's best not to clutter this thread or any other and directly pm with your issue. Sorry for any trouble on this thread.

Back to the topic I look forward to this event sorta of not a big fan of Texas humidity.

..to some would be deemed personal attack

That is not your call to make - leave modding to the mods, that is why we are here. If you take issue with a post, use the report button.

Also, be mindful to avoid double-posting.

Why? Why on earth would he feel the need to do that? Indycar doesn't compete with F1.
If he was going to do that, he would surely try and prevent NASCAR racing there. But obviously that isn't the way to encourage people to come see F1. Honestly, Bernie is probably happy to see other race series race there because it improves the attendance for all events held there.

Same goes for the circuit owners, they'd be a little insane to sign an agreement which limits their calendar like that. F1 is worth a lot but the circuit can't just survive on an F1-only contract.

I don't agree with there being "absolutely no way".

I don't think it's so much to do with competiton between the two championships, but more than CotA was conceived as a project for Formula 1 first and foremost, so Formula 1 gets to christen the circuit.

What is this I don't even:

Same here. Have some friends that live in Austin about half hour from track.

Just wondering how much tickets will be for the inaugural race.

Good looking track with lots of variation of corners and elevation change. Looks to be a good spectator track also.

Coulthard out of retirement is now leading on the circuit's new, revised tarmac, he's really pushing this car to the limit.

After the Michelin disaster of 2005, the circuit owners demanded all competition be shod with horseshoes.

is it just me or is the front right tire tearing up?
and where can i watch f1 racing on US channels? SPEED TV doesnt show it anymore so i missed this season :(

yes i am i even search through the tv guide thingy and it shows no F1 :boggled:
but meh missing 1 season of F1 wont kill me. Ill try to find a way to watch them

Well, the Belgian Grand Prix is this Sunday at 8am your time (assuming you actually live in Joyzee) on SPEED Channel. Now you have a heads up.

Try searching for Formula 1 instead of F1. Practice 2 on Friday, Qualifying on Saturday and the Race on Sunday. All times 8am ET. That is 5am for me, thanks to DVR I can wake up at my normal 10am. :P

They did have several races broadcast on FOX as they do every year, so make sure to look those up on your respective Fox network. I honestly prefer the Fox races, because they are in HD. For some reason I can't get Speed in HD where I am.

Today is D-Day for Austin - Mr. E gave them a deadline of the December 7 meeting of the WMSC or else risk being removed from the 2012 calendar. Rumour (read: Spitpass) suggests that a deal has been struck to keep the race.
