Does the White House appear in Fallout? So far I have failed in finding it.
The White House is a location that can be discovered in this game, although all that's left of it a radioactive crater. There are a few good items there, and it can only be accessed through a utility tunnel manhole that is in the immediate proximity of the exit to the Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest train station.

In regards to the Nuka~Cola Quantums, I carried my quest for retrieving these items to extremes in my second play through. I saved before I entered any building or any other gate, etc., that I thought would open up a new game cell. The first thing that I did once I got inside this new area was to look for Nuka~Cola Vending Machines. If there were some in the area, and I didn't get a Quantum, I would reload, and try again. My luck level was at 10+ since early on, and I presently have 147 Nuka~Cola Quantums scattered around, or just sitting inside of the Pristine Nuka~Cola Vending Machine in my Megaton house. This took a lot of patience and many reloads, and I don't recommend it to anyone.

And, you should be happy with that. There's a limited amount of that stuff, and it's very useful. You can...

1. Drink it for a AP and HP boost.
2. Make 'Mississippi Pie' with it.
3. Nuka Grenade, anyone?
4. Sell it for profit.
5. Drop on the floor in your home because it looks cool!

Trust me, there are a lot of 'Very Hard' safes that have almost nothing of value once you get a high enough level to open them.

Wow that last statement is a little disheartening. And you're right NKQ is pretty useful stuff. However since I had just recently completed the NCC I kinda had my hopes up for getting a couple of skill books or maybe even a bobble head. Obviously I should keep my expectations much lower when defeating future VH locks and terminals. Oh well.

You will need it for the Nuka Cola challenge, too.

Just the way things played out I completed the NCC shortly before opening this VH safe.

Rescued from Paradise seemed way too easy.

Agreed. It's almost like they had bigger plans for the quest but (complete guess here) maybe something else in the game distracted them from being able to fill it out. For example the whole trying to help the little girl's "mungo" friend escape the camp ended up being pointless. In my play through I didn't make much of an effort to get him out, so he perished rather quickly. Then when I met Lucy (or whomever) I fully expected some negative dialog tree but heck she didn't mention him at all. She just basically said thanks and see you later. :odd:

BTW Ledoux's hockey mask is pretty dang useful, too bad it looks so dorky in VATS.

Swimming

Do you actually have any control apart from moving him left/right? Because I'm doing Oasis and I know I can use my pipboy but damn it's a really poor model if you can't control his level in the water without swimming to rocks and hoping that you can get out. It seems a really daft system.

IIRC I was able to swim up and down unless it was very shallow water (Rivet City Bow). Try looking up or down while swimming forward.

Done Oasis now and got swimming sussed.

Does anyone know how I can check how many Quantums I've given to that lass? I think it's about 20, but I can't find stats for it anywhere.

You can give them to her in increments? I didn't know that. I just waited until i had all the ones she needed/i could find, then gave them to her all at once.

Yeah, you can give them to her in installments, but I didn't do it that way, either. I waited 'til I had 30, then went to see her for the first time. You must go outside and come back inside before you can give them to her, though. Don't want to spoil the reason why. I thought it was pretty funny.

So i bought this game a coujple of days ago and i must say thats its bigger than i thought. I didn't knew where to start, but now im with the quest with Three Dog and while i had this converstation with him, you could choose a comment with You're going to have a "Good Fight" on your hands if you don't help me.

Oh yeah i know what you're talking about. It's even funnier if you have Black Widow. I guess the proposition of a ménage à trois is just too much for some guys.

I have a problem with this game, well its more my problem.....

I have this immense paranoia every time I play the game that something will sneak up behind me and startle me and most of the time something does. :nervous:

I have no problem with condemned, silent hill or L4D but Fallout gives me tension that at times is unbearable.

Maybe its the open world? Maybe its the hideous creatures?

Probably both...

Amazing game nonetheless.

Really? I've never been scarred by Fallout 3, even though there are some pretty disturbing rooms you find yourself in.

The best advice i can give you is to up the brightness.

Or i dunno, man up dawg.

Right.

Just got the Silver Tongue award, didn't think I'd make it, but I did. Also done the Behemoths one. I actually find the Deathclaws harder, but what hey!

Just got to finish Take it back and the one before (American Dream?) and the Vault C.E.O and I need to replay the game to do neutral and negative karma level trophies and Nuka Cola and Strictly Business to get my Platinum trophy.

Actually assuming you have saves around levels 7, 13 & 19 you can still get the neutral and neg karma trophies fairly easy. IE load a level 7 save (hopefully you have one that is 500 XP or so shy of leveling up) go to Megaton, start wasting innocents and about every 3rd kill or so check your karma rating. Once you hit neutral exit Mega as rapidly as possible, make a save and find some convenient locale with baddies, like maybe the Bethesda Ruins, to finish off the leveling up process. Now go back and reload the neutral karma level 7 save, kill some more innocents in Mega, etc. Rinse and repeat for saves on levels 13 and 19. Note if you're having problems finding a save with enough XP clearance between the 2 levels you can also lose karma by stealing stuff, however it takes much, much longer to drop in karma rating by stealing. As an example; killing an innocent will drop 100 pts from your karma, whereas stealing an item equals only a drop of 5 pts.

Fallout 3 DLC coming to PS3 beginning late June, two new multiplat packs announced

Bethesda has announced that those Fallout 3 DLC packs that Xbox 360 owners have been enjoying for the last few months will be heading to the PS3 starting with Operation: Anchorage in late June. The other two DLC packs, The Pitt and Broken Steel will be released four to six weeks apart. A patch will be released for the game in order to make these DLC packs work with the PS3 version of the game. All release dates are yet to be nailed down.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Wow cause that didn't take long, I'm sooooo glad I bought Fallout for the PC.

It really didn't. It look less than 5 months for them to give us the earliest content even though they always claimed that plans to do so were "not in the works." Hell, Broken Steel came out 2 weeks ago!

And best of all, the two additional packs that are in development are slated to come out for both platforms simultaneously.

Microsoft probably paid for the privilege.
They sure did. It's another timed exclusive. They pay for the privilige to exclusively have it for a limited amount of time. That way, the one who has it first is happy to have it exclusively, and the developer/publisher can cash on it twice after some time for other platforms.

Screw all those gamesdevelopers! I was intending on spending money on GT5 only this year, and now they come up with SCC, Shift, MW2, Max Payne 3 and now this! How on earth am I going to explain this to the Mrs... :P

I have to say, I've not played Fallout 3 in about 3 months, I've not wanted to play it either. Doesn't have much re-playability, even though you can play the storyline in different ways.

I played Fallout 3 for 2 weeks - from April 29th until May 15th. And I'll never play it again.

It's a dreadful mix of "The Hobbit" text adventure, D&D and the long-standing sci-fi tradition of a futuristic, but post-apocalyptic, wasteland filled with pop-culture references. The dialogue varies from the odd to the implausible, the characters all wander around with no real heed to each other (watching them just endlessly walk into each other, because one MUST go that way and the other MUST go the other way, almost never gets old), it's supposedly "huge" but, just like GTA4, is really a very linear game with lots of disparate locations spread very far apart with giant gaps of jobby all in-between, and the bugs... OH, the bugs... It's like no-one ever playtested the damn game.

So I rocked up my Platinum and sent it back. Horrible, horrible game.

Too little, too late. I do think it's funny, though. :)

I don't think it's too late, at least not for me. I'm on the last part of the main story and I'm having a pretty good time just running around with my combat shotgun and laser rifle.

Its not too late. Many people only have PS3 version. Its good to here but I havent even played the game much. Glad to know its coming

I'll definitely be getting this DLC. More Fallout 3 content, no matter what it is, equals win.
