I see it exactly the other way round.
You want to buy a car? You ask someone who owns it? And you really believe, he will say ANY negative thing about his ~20.000/40.000/60.000 purchase??? No way...
In the worst case, this person has to say, that he has wasted that huge amount of money.
A tester who looks at hundreds of gadgets (because it is his job) has less emotions which influence his judgement. Not saying that business interests might have an influence here.
The community tester, who get's a discount on the wheel, who is waiting a long time for this wheel and who is enthusiastic about this wheel will not necessarily do the better review-job IMHO. He may WANT that this wheel is good, so he may be not open for negative aspects. You know what I mean? That's human...
So no source will give you the ultimate review. At the end of the day, it is a matter of personal taste. You see Amazon-reviews sometimes? Half of the crowd gives 1 star, the other half gives 5. So what I am going to say? Mabye that any kind of review has a lot of disadvantages. Buy it, try it and then keep it or return it. So easy...
You can take facts out of any review, but be careful with feelings or opinions.
