The way I understand it is: "The only difference between men and boys, is the price of their toys."

And here is an example of a man's toy very few kids could afford:

rseat6.jpg

You have got the setup I dream about, but it is not wife compatible (so the Wheel Stand Pro is the best compromise). I have been living in Québec for 18 months and thinking about buying a house, so there is a very nice thing about north america houses : their basement -> perfect place for the man's cave and a rSeat Evo :)
So maybe with a house, I will purchase a decent seat (@Fanatec : Did you imagine that playing with your "toys" is an argument to buy a house !!!)

Congrats on your purchase. I hope you will enjoy it for a long time to come. :)
Few questions you might enjoy answering... When is it due to arrive at your doorstep? What paddles have you got with it? Bought some shifters too?
Anyway, I hope you can easily hard mount it to the WSP. ;)

I will use my G25 pedals until I can buy Clubsport Pedals (v2 ?). I think about adding a loadcell but think the clubsport pedals will be better. And then I will waiting for the clubsport shifter. Without the G25/27 pedals compatibility, it had been very hard to change every thing at the same moment (CSR wheel + Clubsport Pedals => 700+ $/€). It is very clever to build a range of compatible products that you can improve. Of course I am very interested in a "BMW GT fanatec wheel" for the CSR (I choose not to wait for clubsport wheel because I really have fun with Forza 4 so a 360 wheel is very important to me).

Sounds like you have a great plan there. Maybe when you buy the house you can make pictures whilst building your man cave to show off to us all here. ;)
Also having fun is the most important thing, and you don't need a lot of equipment for that. :)
Let us know what you think of it when you get it.

I would not let my wife or girlfriend get in the way of what I enjoy doing. Money or physical incompatibility should be the only reasons preventing someone from doing what they love.

Well, I have three amazing daughters, they are doing some expensive activities, it is more important to me to see them learning as many things they can (sport, music, school) than playing racing game. I have chosen my priorities, I will not blame my wife or anyone. I wait 4 years for a Fanatec wheel, but I am so happy to have it soon that it makes it better ;)

The reason why I love racing game : my wife makes me a very nice present a few years ago : some F430 and Audi R8 circuit laps. Then I realize that I love cars and driving.

correct me if I'm wrong but 11/16/2011 was possible to pre order CSR ELITE .......
and the Embargo ends 11/30/2011 ...... so you could order 14 days before the Embargo ends ....... hope it will be equal to the CSW =)

Sorry for some reason I misconstrue your statement as "My wife won't let me have it" as in she does not wish it. Family well being is obviously above shinny toys.

Gotta give Thomas credit, he has a great sense of humor:

From his blog...

Thomas, i would like to receive a PM 15 min before the preorder goes live

Or am i being too optimistic again ? LOL

You are too late! We opened the pre-orders yesterday but within 10 minutes we got one million orders so we had to close it for the next ten years again.

I am really sorry but i will send you a PM in April 2022 (around noon) when we start the pre-orders again.

I knew Thomas would respond somehow, because my question on his blog was a kind of folow up from my post in this topic, on which he responded to:

Maybe i'm just as optimistic as Thomas always is :) LOL :)

With Thomas you can expect anything, he could also have responded with : keep an eye on your inbox

But you can blame a guy for trying :)

I think Thomas has 100 CSW in stock already .... and I want to do business with him at once ..... let everyone order tomorrow ..... let the money roll =)

I keep watching Formula One and pausing the tv every time there is a shot of a steering wheel. i am soooo curious as to what the "Licensed F1" wheel will be its driving me crazy! part of me thinks Mercedes... The button layout on that wheel is so busy though. mclaren? maybe but they are british. Thomas can you give us a hint here please?

now I've been annoying .. so now I'll stop .... hope everyone is happy and satisfied with the CSW when it comes ..... have a good time and good luck on the race track =)

We will probably won't see a full licenced F1 wheel for a while, we will have to do with the Formula rim untill then.

This looks also pretty cool, but a bit small to me.

Oh i didnt say it would be a problem, just maybe not his effinity. i would like to know how that decision will be made. will he have a pole? Or will he just choose his favorite F1 team and try to get a license? or how does one even aquire that license?

Same case here with WRC rims. Did a lot of online research and watched many WRC onboard scenes to get closer to those rims. Found out a lot, but the size was difficult to find out. Loeb's WRC rim has 330 mm diameter (here: http://www.reverie.ltd.uk/product_detail.php?search=330 carbon&part_code=R01SH0037)

Here my post on Thomas' blog:

WRC replica wheel would be my choice too. C4, Impreza or Focus or the actual cars as Fiesta or DS3 WRC, with yellow center mark.

Any chance of implementing a single paddle shifter (forward/backward) as used until 2 years ago in the WRC and also a sequential shifter as used now (maybe attached to the wheel base)?

I would love to have a seq shifter with 'real' travel, natural engage noise and feedback, not only a 'click' and short travel as in standard gaming shifters. Same applies to paddle shifter, but I think the shown CSW solution is quite near to the real ones.
About the single paddle: it would make sense to make non rotating for WRC, maybe attaching it to the wheel base?

2 pics showing the Impreza WRC cockpit with flat wheel and non rotating paddle shifter:

And the Fiesta RS WRC:

Manufacturers: Sparco or OMP
Type: Rally, GT, LMP
Size: 315-350

I started a topic at GTPlanet a while ago (Fanatec CSW rim wishes), there I posted some rims:

Ok i'm caught up, Just read through the last 20 pages of this thread.
I wish i could have tried to sign up for the review but just would have never had the cash this month. If only we knew a month in advanced... But ill still be able to get one in may or june :D

Are there any new pictures of the CSW Formula rim or BMW rim. Im still undecided which one i want. Also is there any news on the E-Brake / Hand Brake fanatec were working on ??

I only ask because I immediately want to take one and mod it to be a sequential shifter.

Like this ^.^

That list is a lot in one year.

Mmmmm, gonna dip a cookie and assume the E FORMULA rim would be perfect around the next Codemasters F1 installment. Those are usually September release.

Thing is Fanatec managed CSR, CSRE, CSRE Pedals and small updates to some other products last year, I think they will have their work cut out getting 5 new products out in a year particularly considering 2nd qtr is just around the corner.

From ISR forums. Everybody,

Reunited and it feels so good.(in my peaches and herb voice) :) Ok Thomas sent me an email stating he will send you a PR Wheel as long as all the embargos are adhered to. Excellent news! ISR is back!

Nice to to see this "kerfuffle" is behind us.

I mean really how could they ignore each other anymore anyways? good news for the sim community I say. Its a neccessary breath of fresh air to see peoples clearer head prevail over silly pointless squavling.
I plan to watch how ISR review the CSW and I also plan to buy it no matter what they say! hehe

This whole thing never changed my opinion of them from the very start. You want an honest review of something, talk to someone who actually paid their hard earned money for it. Nothing beats a good community review, for any product. Want to by a car, talk to somebody who owns one, not motor trend.
