Too bad that CSW does not support g25 pedals. What I might do however, is to get same potentiometers as in standard pedals to mod g25s to work. Problem is that I do not have any idea what potentiometers they use.

Yes I understand, I have ordered my CSR Elite because I will use it with my G25 pedals. So I "only" have to spend 550$ + taxes and will later buy some clubsport pedals.

With the CSW, it is 450$ base + 300$ rim + 200$ pedals = a lot :)

The rims are 180$ for the Formula & 250$ for the BMW GT.
But yea...... that price needs to come down some, Even 70$ less would make me a little happy.

A quick release retail costs $100 (so we can assume just the rim section would be $50 retail) a similar momo wheel is $190. Under these numbers you have $10 left for some electronics. You say "even $70 less" like that is a small cut. You are asking for a 39% price break.

If the rim is of similar quality who is to say they can't charge a similar price.

Good statement from a guy with the nickname "ibuycheap" ;)

We will try to offer some lower priced wheels as well at a later stage but that means we will need to sacrifice some features (not quality). The drift rim without shifter paddles and less buttons could be such a rim which is priced below 150. But the QR system is made of high quality so there is a natural limitation.

Just be sure that before we make a rim with fake buttons or fake display we rather make no such rim as it would ruin the ClubSport brand.

In comparison to car wheels at the same quality level or other modding rims you will see that our rims are priced very reasonable. It is just a complete different quality level. We now on automotive level and no longer on a toy level.

All I can add to that is that if sim racers live together or in close vicinity of each other then you can also think of sharing your rims with each other because of the nice QR system. :)
So you could actually pay for a rim together if you want and share it.

For example my dad likes sim racing so I could buy him a ClubSport Base and share my rims with him. ;)

With family members? Yeah, probably...but with people I don't know well? I'd probably let them try it but go get your own after that :D

Fanatec...
There is no specific date but I will fly to China next week to supervise production so it won't be too long I hope.

As long as you don't start talking Chinese to us afterwards Thomas, because of the good food and the people. lol

I wonder if Fanatec would ever consider selling just a quick release and a standalone box for controling the wheels functions? We could then use about any wheel we choose. I personelly have no use for paddles or wheel buttons.

Fanatec has already said here or somewhere else that they won't sell separate quick releases as this will cause technical difficulties. As someone who is testing the wheel currently I can do nothing else then stand behind this statement and say it will indeed cause issues.

What Fanatec pedals aren't analog ? Thx

Scotty

The magnet sensors as well as the loadcell are both digital components. However pedals with potentio meters are analog, like the old standard pedals from Fanatec.

This is done now. The G25/G27 and all analog Fanatec pedals will be compatible with the CSW

Arrg, you remove the point that makes me choose the csr elite instead of the the CSW !!! :)

Should I change my order for a CSW. aaaaaaaaarg

The QR is lovely to have you know. :sly:

no im not saying cut the prices of the rims, I understand those prices are reasonable. But the whole package as a whole was Around the 700$ mark not 800 Like a package deal or something. CSW Base + Formula Rim + CSW .

On another note , do we in the U.S. pay taxes when buying fanatec?

And Thomas I agree with you about not having a wheel with fake buttons and stuff. A more normal standard wheel (with a few buttons), that is similar to an aftermarket wheel would probably be in high demand.

Well, now it is the "Quick release + better rims" versus "xbox 360 compatibility" fight.

I had found peace since I made my decision : "the CSW is very attractive but I can not change all my setup so pick a CSR Elite" and pass my order (a week ago).

I lost my peace of mind with Thomas post about CSW G25 pedals compatibility.

I mainly play GT5 and Forza, but the 360 and the PS3 will not be there in a few years, so the CSW could be a better choice.

I have an idea : I will make a poll and let GTPlanet community choose my next Fanatec wheel ;)

So are the CSR Elite pedals analog then? i was under the impression they would also work with the CSW.
Clubsport and CSR Elite pedals are digital and absolutely are compatible with all Fanatec wheels, including CSW.
I believe standard Porsche pedals, CSR pedals and Logitech pedals are all analog.
By "digital" and "analog" I am describing the type of communication between wheel and pedals.
