This is taking too long, the community needs to hurry up with this testing. I really want to get my hands on a CSW.

I dont like secrets, wish we could just be told about the CSP V2 and CSS shifter already.

I'll be "downgrading" from my CST F1 pedals in order to fund the switch from the CSR-E to the CSW + CSP V2's. I'm glad to see that they *should* be available at the same time.

Mr Latte
Will V2 pedals offer increased resolution, mmmmm

We will find out soon enough. Thomas said in the past that the current models have changed a lot since the very early models of which you all have seen pics already.

According to this post at Fanatec Wheel Fansite, Thomas stated; "There will be such product, but it will look a bit different than what you saw on ISR video, as they had an early prototype."

Do you have more recent information to base the "changed a lot" you are referring to?

I just remembered it wrong then, but that was the post I was referring to.

Was hoping you might have some info, but I guess even if you did, you couldn't say so.
Either way I guess we will all know soon, really anticipating their release.
I really hope an upgrade kit will be available.
I love my CSPs, especially after installing the tuning kit parts and getting DSD's Tilton-style pedals.

Thats nothing new from Darin Gangi. Hes went off like that once before that I know of and once confronted he does a U turn. I argued with him once over a statement he made (Cant remember it now) but as soon as I confronted him he got up in arms and eventually backed down and reverted his comment. He thinks he isall high and mighty but a lot of people are after losing al respect for the man because of his attitude.

I wouldn't count on an upgrade kit

An upgrade kit will not be that easy as you would have to replace quite a lot of parts. It won't come cheap as well and will be hard to install. Not sure if it makes sense. CSPs are getting good prices on eBay so this option might make more sense for a lot of CSP owners. You end up paying a bit more than CSP V1 + upgrade kit but you got brand new pedals and no hassle to install the upgrade kit.

The pedal plates of V2 are similar to V1 so you can still use your colour kits or custom pedal plates with V2.

Thomas said that a few minutes ago on the iRacing forums. So you would end up spending just as much, or more, on upgrading and have to do a significant amount of work to install the upgrade.

No point in doing it if it's going to be expensive AND difficult.

As my V1's are only a couple months old I think that I'll stick with them for now.

I'd probably only change if an upgrade package was available. As my pedals are newish then I don't think I'd benefit from a change.

I'm saving my money for the CSW plus formula rim.

I don't think he is talking about the price of a brand new set of CSP V1's since they aren't even for sale any more (at least not in the US store). So figure a used set of CSP's will run $125 or so, then add in maybe $100 (just a guess) upgrade kit and you are at $225. Not sure how expensive the CSP V2's will be, but even if they were $300, you would only be saving $75 and probably doing a significant amount of work to perform the upgrade. For me the $75 would be worth the time saved and having a brand new set of pedals.

I'm anxious now to see what the price will be. I don't think they will be too much higher than the CSP's were, I'm guessing $250, since the CSR-Elites are $150. Just a guess though, hopefully we'll know in a couple weeks.

Hopefully there's some sort of Invert Pedal kit available for new csp and old. I'm close to buy the x-cpo one and just attaching it to my Rennsport stand.

I believe Thomas stated a while back that he was not planning an inversion kit for the current (now unavailable) V.1 CSPs.

You might want to check the depth of the lip on the bottom of the mounting plate of the X-CPO Invert kit against the thickness of the Rennsport Wheel Stand's aluminum stays (1in/2.5CM).

The width of the Rennsport WS's aluminum stays is 15in/38CM (including rounded edges) so you will need to verify that against the width of X-CPO's invert kit mounting plate as well.

If the X-CPO's Invert Kit's mounting plate won't work with the RWS, you might have to source an aluminum plate as a substitute and hard mount it to the Rennsport WS's aluminum stays and then mount the X-CPO Invert Kit to that.

There is a link on Fanatec's web site that is a Guide to Inverting CSPs, it also has a link to ///DR's Guide to Inverting Fanatec Clubsport Pedals\\\ thread here on GTP about inverting CSPs should you go ahead with the inversion.

Thomas has a good sense of humor about the whole ISR fiasco

From the iRacing forums a few minutes ago:

Thomas Jackermeier2
This is great promotion unless you have hundreds of V1s in stock which sell off much slower after such a leak happened. In our case it was not so ideal and it came to a situation where we ran out of stock of V1 in the USA but sales in EU slowed down after the V2s appeared in the ISR video.

But if a manufacturer or game developer wants to leak something on purpose ISR is the best adress. Just tell them to keep it confidential

LOL

Daren must have a short memory... I dont think he does it on purpose...
For example... supercar challenge was given the worst score ever in any game they reviewed (physics especially) and now they talked about the new eutechnyx game auto club revolution and in the middle of their presentation they said that eutechnyx was well known for the great physics.
And in a youtube review of Shift 2 where they talk about features the game had that didnt have and features the game didnt have that it actually had... I pointed it out to them and they erased my comments and banned me from their youtube page... and I was polite but did point out that they claim to take their time to review things properly when in fact in this review it wasnt the case...
So now I always take their show with a grain of salt.

"Darin" has a lot on his plate. He is not perfect and being in the public eye can lead to great scrutiny from many people. Whether you take the show with a grain of salt or not I think the folks at ISR do a great job and should be commended for their dedication to our community.

As I am saying for more than 4 year now... ISR guys have no idea about they're talking about, they never had any idea what they were talking about and they really deserve to be ignored by core-communities by largest imaginable margin.

+1, they are just show, they understand the physics in the game little more then average Joe. They just give better scores to those who pay. But they are nice to watch, and certainly their opinion is not to be taken to seriously.
they should have used Top Gear models or running the show. I guess that model takes time to evolve.

Thomas, if you're reading this:

Would it not be nice to have some audio out on the CSW wheel so it can feed a butt kicker or something simular with the same effects that you experience on the wheel.

This would expand the force feedback experience of the CSW wheel to the seat.It would be awesome :)

Thomas, youre just like a stripper. Works us up and send us home to our inferior women ;)
Cheers

I rather go home to the girl who loves me then to watch a male stripper though. To each his own of course. lol

The problem is that they seem to have quite the impact on the sim racing community and can cause serious problems with their «expert» opinions on some of the smaller game developers and companies...

And the way they review codemasters titles and how they used to praise the Fanatec wheels and what they say about them now makes feel like they are somewhat biased in their shows...

I do watch every show (in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king) but I just wish there was more reliable sources out there... I myself prefer watching teamVVV youtube (Alan) for example (when it comes to previews and reviews)
