Well, this isn't a baby thread, LOL. So I figured mentioning it in passing was sufficient. :)

If it was just the baby though, no big deal, I would still get it. But the combination of me getting out the military, starting med school, and basically living off of student loans and savings for the next 4 years is what is making the decision.

I'm counting myself lucky that my wife isn't making a big deal out of my racing rig, since that will likely be my only hobby I have while in school.

So you really think you will have time to race? :D the first 6 months with a baby is easy, they sleep.. But after that they want all your attention all the time! Especially when they learn to walk..

If you buy a house at the same time (like I did), you can really kiss your old life good bye! ;-)

I've already got an 18 month old son, and we own a few homes :) my wife is very understanding and a great mom, I'll be around my kids as often as I can, but I'm sacrificing my time with them now to give them a better future.

With being in the military working 60hrs a week and completing my bachelor's and master's degrees over the last 6 years I've become very good at time management. I'll find a few hours a week to race.

Basically when I am posting on forums (a hobby of mine) it's because I am at work with nothing else to do. So will my sim racing time suffer? No, but my forum post counts won't go up much at all. LOL!

That is a blessing for the rest of us! hehe just kidding, I have a 20 month year old and absolutely no free time so I know the feeling, but couldnt immagine going to school at the same time YIKES. Sim racing or not, I hope you and everyone here can find a few hours to do whatever it is that makes you happy in life. Me, I love being a dad! (even when I have to change the channel from Monaco Grand Prix to Calliou...)

That damn show was instant nap time for me when my daughter was younger. By the first commercial break it was dream land for me.

Super bike Congrats.

don't complain guys...

i have a 1 month old baby, and another that has 3 years.

ps3 is getting dust since... december i think.

but when CSW comes out... i man... will be hard to decide what to do :P

I have the perfect trick that I will use to keep me from buying a CSW for a while. My plan is that I will immediately buy one when it comes with the option of either the Generic or Lisenced Formula 1 rim. Even though there are many great rims coming out, either of those are the only rim I want. This way, I am forced to hold out for a while, maybe a loooong while-which will be hard to do but I think my plan will help me get past my impulse desire to get one right away even though its not a good time financially right now.

Buy one anyway, you know you want to. :sly:

Im short on cash as well, I had to sell one of my RC Trucks to have close to enough to buy a CSW. Still need to sell either my 360 or one of my rifles to cover the rest.

I had been debating on getting the wheel. Decided I would get one a week or so ago. Then they announced another delay, so I said screw it and went and bought 3 monitors wednsday. Gotta say I think 3 screens was the right choice. Its pretty fricken sweet. Maybe by end of summer fanatec can get things worked out.

Well, I think we can say that "end of may" is there, hope the north america CSR Elite batch will be there soon, can't wait putting my hands on my new wheel...

Also hope the new Fanatec.com will be there soon because I feel connected to those who are waiting for their Clubsport Wheel (and clubsport pedals...)

Have a nice day ! :)

I've actually started building a new rig in prep for the CSW. Thinking about creating a new thread to share with everyone.

edit: can anyone with a CSR elite tell me the dimensions of the mounting holes on the base?

edit2: nvm, found it on their site

Anyone get their CSW yet? has testing begun?

Some have by now yeah. Of course the people who got it are testing it right away, but I think you want to know an end date for the embargo and it's up to Fanatec to decide such. Besides just like its holiday season for all of us here so it is for Fanatec employees that work on this project. So I don't know how this will affect the release of the CSW or lift the embargo, but that possibility exists that it could delay things a bit I guess. Time will tell I suppose.

I don't think I'm supposed to say anything one way or the other, but I'll just say for now: there is a (VERY GOOD) reason why I just reactivated my old forgotten iRacing account tonight!

PS-Wish me luck learning the new tire model. I guess the fact that I never spent too much time (except for a trial period) on iRacing the first go-round may be of help now. At least I'll be learning the NTM and don't have to "unlearn" the old tire model...
Pity iRacing doesn't have a BMW M3 GT3, do they? ;-)

Mike, simraceway does. Google it. ;)
It is the exact same model the BMW rim is from as well. :P

I don't think there's such a car- there's BMW M3 GT2 (ALMS), M3 GT (in the GT-E at last year's Le Mans and Nurburgring). This year BMW pulled out the M3 from everything except ALMS. The replacement car for FIA GT1 and GT3 series is the Z4. Of course, there's the DTM version of the M3.

If you mean the M3 GT, wait for Assetto Corsa that's coming out at the end of the year.

Speaking of GT3 in iRacing, soon there will be the McLaren MP4-12C GT3.

Hi everyone, I seriously need to know if the ClubSport Pedals V2 and the ClubSport Wheel (Formula rim and GT rim) will be available before June 18 (it's very important). Because, if it's after... I can't have the ClubSport Wheel and Pedal set.

I have the money but I'm from Argentina :( :yuck: :grumpy: :banghead: , so... I will be in Europe from June 7 to June 18 (France and England).

Thank you very much, sorry for my bad english and ignorance

It's a shame you can´t buy it on fanatec.de in their webshop, but how do you want to do it in europe? There aren't any shops that sell fanatec stuff.
However, there is no exact date for the release. We all hope it will be soon.:)

Simracer92
I actually love to drive the BMW M3 GT2 in Race 07 at the Nordschleife (after purchasing one of the extansion packs I think) :)

That isn't the 2012 version BMW the rim is from though if I am not mistaken. Simraceway is the only one with the 2012 car as far as I know. Apart from Forza 4, but that's not an option with the CSW.

We all haven't heard of any date yet when it will be released. So I can't tell you anything else but "maybe it will, but don't bet on it".
