I don't know all the dates and stuff but wasn't there supposed to be a new website coming out too along with the CSW and CSP V2? And what about shifters? Sorry, I'm just not up to date on current Fanatec releases

And now my first CSW video with BMW M3 GT2 Rim is uploaded.. It will show you how the BMW Rim performs in game (here pCARS). Pleae note that this rim is a pre-production wheel rim and the original production wheel rims now have slightly changed REV LED's. Now the BMW Rim has YYY-RRR-BBB and no more RRR-YYY-GGG.

It just makes you look sooooo much cooler when your wife walks in on you in your gloves. Yes, that was sarcasm ;)

I personally find it a shame that a wife can't accept who 'you' are with 'your' quirks, while she wants 'you' to do the same thing towards her most likely. The only appearance a wife would most likely be concerned with is her mans public appearance. ;)

In the end everyone should be free to do what he or she likes. Some like to wear gloves while racing, while others do not. The CSW can handle both types of people. No worries. :)

Seems like t500RS is faster than CSW with BMW rim.

Based on the calibration process when starting the wheel up?

Edit: forget that question. It is in the review above indeed. If you look closely, the CSW with either rim does do better counter rotation then the T500 though. Also maybe Fanatec can adjust the rotation speed via firmware to have it equal per wheel. The power is easily the to do it.

Yes, but honestly outside of rally or maybe drifting you don't ever say, "gee I wish this wheel turned faster".

RBR and the Drift games are not 900 degree rotation compatible games though. At least it does not drive nicely with the G25, T500 and CSW at 900.

Quite right. Perhaps Fanatec should offer the lightweight plastic CSR Elite wheel rim that's compatible with the ClubSport base. I'll entertain trades, my CSR Elite wheel rim for your CSW BMW wheel rim! :sly:

I don't understand why they didn't make the bmw rim lighter since all that wheight slow you and the feedback effects down...

Maybe because it adds a form of damping- the CSW's FFB (according to the review) on its own is incredibly fast with low resistance and if you add a really lightweight wheel, the result can be quite jarring/harsh.

While you probably would't want to use the GT rim with lightweight open wheel race car, with heavier GT race car/road cars, I think it will add more realism to how shifting weight (via the FFB) can be felt.

Pretty amazing. People complained that the CSRE was to small and too light. Now people are complaining the CSW BMW rim is too large and too heavy. Seems the window for perfection is pretty small.

I think the CSW GT rim should have been lighter because one review shows the response as slower than a g25 when it is equipped. Obviously if you want to maintain the same power with more mass you would need larger motors but that would mean more wheel resistance. Since you are stuck with the weaker motors you should design around that.

The CSR-e rim was not too small or too light. The design was too cheap. If they used the exact same rim design as the gt2 but with the csr-e paddles I would be perfectly happy. (Light weight plastic + full Alcantara). The way things look now I think I'll just be getting the F1 Rim for the CSR-E.

This. In practice, the CSR Elite is great and I love using mine. But the rim is the thing you touch the most, and it's a shame that I can feel the multiple pieces and the seams.

I still don't think I'd mind a bigger, heavier GT style rim though. I don't think the stock CSR Elite rim is too small exactly. It's a good compromise for multiple racing disciplines. I just want something that really feels like it came out of a real car.

I personally believe the weight of the GT rim is not really an issue for speed. I never thought my wheel does not turn fast enough. It is more of an issue in regards to dampening FFB effects. If the game has strong effects then it is not a problem. But if the game has slightly more subtle weaker effects, they may become very faint.

The Force setting in the adjustments may also help in that regard. It sounds like it steepens the FFB response curve. You'd want a way to raise the minimum FFB effects ideally though.

I always run on max. In game and in the wheel. For example, the rumble strip effect (not the knocking effect from hitting an elevated surface) in GT5 is already a weak effect. With the GT rim on it is almost imperceptible. Some PC games have this as well. GTR/Race and iRacing do the best job at replicating this effect.

Damn you using the wrong thread. Now I have to move mine too. It is all good though ;)
