Anyone notice how many of these reviews are being done by people without dedicated rigs. I don't understand the logic in selecting someone who isn't even in the target market for the wheel. Who the hell buys a $1000+ setup to stick it on a wheel stand it blows my mind. Thomas himself said it didn't include a table mount because he assumed you would attach it to your rig.

I've got a CSR Elite wheel and ClubSport pedals on a Rennsport wheel stand and it works very well. I don't have the room to dedicate to a full rig right now. I imagine some CSW users will be in the same boat.

off topic,

pCARS is getting an entire new physics / tire model from the ground up. It's going to take several months for it to be finished. The current model will end on up the console versions because of the lack of computing power...

So there is still hope for pCARS to get it right.

on topic,
Does Fanatec charge for shipping? After spending 630$ having to pay shipping is going to suck. Spend that kind of cash on Amazon / Newegg or whereever you at least get free economy ground.

It probably does as so far, but there is said to be some special launch offer or surprise. I'm eagerly waiting to see what's that exactly.

GT5's graphics are better than what?

Hope your counting a stable frame rate with the better graphics comment. More important than shiney cars IMHO.

If you watch the video with the person who has it mounted to a wheel stand at the end of the video he has his logitech wheel mounted to a playseat evo. Also Thomas didnt pick the testers the fourm communities picked the testers and I dont think a dedicated rig was a requirement.

In a way it's even a good thing. It kind of seems unfair that only guys that have the 10k+ money to spend on cockpit to have a possibility to get the wheel early and to have it half the price, while others who earn very little have to pay full price and not be able to participate because they don't have many other wheels to compare it to and other cockpit stuff. But generally that's is the way in life, rich get richer and poor poorer.

Not having other wheels to compare it to is really the core reasoning of my point. It just so happens that many with dedicated rigs have used those higher end wheels. I can see space being a valid reason for not having a dedicated rig but I would like reviews on high end wheels to be done by those with experience with other high end wheels. Stating dedicated rigs in my prior post really just conflated dedicated rigs with experience with high end wheels. Also I am aware of the voting. The point being if you were really interested in buying the wheel you would vote for people also in the same shoes.

Without that experience it just tells me it's nice... but compared to what?

I look forward to an Elite / T500 / CSW comparison.
Thats what I originally wanted to do myself or see one from someone.

Still have all my photos from the "Elite" review I was for doing.
However with two funerals at the start of the year, beta driver issues and waiting for the CSW which was due much sooner I held off doing the review.

Did purchase 2 extra RSWS to test each beside each other and with seperate monitors for 1-1 testing via GT5 and console games. Having now also built a PC I aim to buy the CSW at some point and bring this comparison with as usual an overdose of detailed photos...

Just at the moment buying the CSW may be tough having spent quite a lot recently on a £500 tactile/amplifer combo.

Thomas any chance of finance BNPL, lol.

Off-Topic:

PCARS is basically the only game that tops gt5 graphics. Too bad the physics and force feedback still need work.

Apples to Oranges, those PCARS graphics are on PC not PS3, GT5 is on PS3.
SMS developer has already stated that console graphics will not equal PC graphics.
Current examples of this in the wild are the graphics differences in F1, and Shift games on PC, and consoles.

Physics: SMS-developed PCARS are PC physics.

NFS S2U PC version's physics have been documented on various sim-related forums as being remarkably different from the console versions (developed by SMS).

I have both PC and PS3 versions of NFS S2U, they are different animals.

On Topic:

I have a Rennsport V.1 stand and it seems to be more rigid than the V.2.
The V.1 does not have angle adjustability for the vertical support, only 90 degrees.
What I noticed in the review, is that the vertical support was tilted forward a few degrees.
That might explain the movement in the video, given the weight and FFB power of CSW.
I know some V.2 owners have remarked that setting the stand at angles other than 90 degrees is less stable.

People are so hair trigger to make comments on graphics that they like to reply to comments about them completely out of context.

This was in reply to this
I just need a bit of convincing on graphics and games. IMO and just from what I've seen on you tube nothing touches GT5......LOL Wait for the back lash for that comment

Real life perhaps?

I hope that's a joke.

I think spags real life comment was on reply to the question of people who don't have access to other high end wheels.

What are they comparing to.
Real life.perhaps?

Hmm hair trigger? I guess I failed to fully understand the context of the entire discussion, and please excuse that.

I was just trying to point out that there are major differences on same games with different platforms.

There are a lot of people reading and commenting on these threads that may not have the knowledge the hardcore sim enthusiasts have regarding that the same games do not have same attributes across different platforms.

Edit: Did not mean to slight anyone's sim prowess or start a flaming session.

It was actually sorry for any confusion.
What does real life know eh. Lol.

I know what you are saying but real life isn't helpful to someone deciding what wheel to buy. If you did a review of a Ferrari 458 and the only cars you've ever driven was a Honda civic and an f1 car and you say its the closest thing to an f1 car you have ever driven. How does that help me decide if I should get the Mclaren mp 412? You essentially only told me it was better than a Honda Civic.

Well, Monday is here, let's hope Thomas keeps his promise and gives some info about release and ordering today.

Is there any latest news on Endor Japan? I know Thomas announced last year November they received the certificate of incorporation and the products have passed Japan's certification. I hope they can ship here soon.

The embargo is over and more and more fantastic reviews are coming up. The testers did an incredible job but now it is our turn to deliver.

We are ready to go and will launch the new website this week. This new website will also allow you to place orders for the CSW and CSP V2.

We do have inventory of CSP V2 in both EU and USA and we also have small inventory of CSW and rims in EU. The ship for the US market arrives in a few days. We will have coming in more and more shipments by sea but there is a possibility that we will be short on inventory.

Tomorrow we will go offline so we can switch to the new website and intensively test it. The new website will go online on.

YES YES YES! Anyone know the URL for the new website?

..doesn't sound very promising lol

It'll probably remain the same.

Make sense. I just thought maybe they would go to a new URL because wasn't there a testing website people found with something like "drift zone" or something in the URL?

I'll be ready and waiting at exactly noon German time (7pm here) with my wallet ready.

Can you post to Thomas' post please?

I have liked to read the reviews so far on here and watching the videos on youtube. I plan to get this wheel sometime, I am in no hurry and want to read more user experiences as other people here on the board will get them.

Also I am not interested in the F1 wheel rim, and the BMW rim is a bit to expensive I think and I could manage with one with less buttons, and I am as many others here curious as to how the alcantara will wear.

For now I will be waiting for hopefully a cheaper rim that will be made available.

As this is the Club Sport range I doubt that their will be a cheaper rim than the formula rim. My guess is, as this is their flagship range the next choice of rims will be in a similar price bracket as the BMW GT2 rim. Other members have questioned if there will be a carbon fibre rim. If so the price could be a lot higher.
