My PayPal transaction says completed, ID 885.

CSW + BMW Rim

I got a "Thank you for you inquiry" automated email 13 hours after forwarding the PayPal email to them, I'm still waiting on an official "your order is being processed" email.

My order number is 922! I have seen only one other post with a higher order number of 926! LOL
:scared:

I have not heard any additional info on the site. IIRC, Thomas reported by twitter(?) that the site is being rolled back to the previous version and should be up an going today (tuesday)?

update from Fanatec's facebook page

Short update: The server crash screwed up the whole database and we are now comparing the orders one by one manually to know if the data is consistent between our ERP datatbase and our webshop. We are trying hard to inform the new customers later today and arrange immediate shipment of the ClubSport wheel but time is running fast. Sorry to keep you waiting.

I must admit that this is becoming extremely frustrating.

I've been waiting to purchase a CSR XL package since last Thursday but have been unable to due to this launch. I was hoping to have it set up on my wheelstand this weekend but I guess that's not going to happen now.

I can understand the launch of a new product to be problematic but to completely remove the original website and prevent any other business is disappointing to say the least.

I'd prefere not to source a 2nd hand unit but with no news on when/if the website will be back online, I think I might have to.

Sorry for the rant.

I think Fanatec tried to do too much at one time. They tried updating the site with a new layout/database and released the CSW/CSP V2 at the same time.

Should've Jst stuck with the old site till after the launch of the clubsport

Nah, the other way around. That way they would at least have more stock to sell then just a couple of hundred to the entire world.

Its all classic marketing. Keep the supply low so demand stays higher longer. That gets people talking about your product longer which has the potential to bring more customers. It makes people who may be on the fence believe the product must be great if everyone is waiting to get one.

The old site is up, but if you created an account on the new site it won't let you login. Also, some of us got emails from FANATEC saying they received the order, but need us to log in once the site is running and finish the transaction (payment). At this point we know they're sold out, but I'm one of those guys who'd like to finish my order as directed by FANATEC support so I'm in line for the next batch.

I wonder if new accounts won't work on the old site?? That may be the case as you don't see the new products on the old site. Who knows =)

On the old site, you need to use your old password.

My innate cynicism wants to agree with that, but the fact of the matter is that Fanatec lost 6 days of retail sales revenue because they had no functional site backup. The bulk of their sales are web-driven. So like Logi said, it would have been better for them financially had it been the other way around.

Question is why is that coming from someone on this forum? (thanks much for your help) ....and not disclosed somewhere on Fanatec's site or blog for the benefit of their returning customers?

I guess its just another overlooked detail...

I just got an e-mail asking for me to send an extra $23 for shipping since it wasn't calculated correctly at checkout (I kinda thought it was wrong to begin with).

So I'm assuming this means mine will be shipped very soon. Sent the payment, hopefully it ships this week.

If a company is short on stock of goods it could be classic marketing as you described but also lack of production time or lack of liquidity. Who knows...

Is any body else still waiting for their PayPal payment to be confirmed? The funds have left my account and are currently floating around in cyber space.

whether they lost 6 days or not Fanatec sold out their supply, they may have pissed off lots of people myself including :grumpy:. And im sure Fanatec does genuinely feel bad - but at the end of the day they sold everything they had which is great for business.

I agree that the site crashing was an unforseen mishap, but that doesnt change the very low production run numbers. That was by design.

OK, but I never had an old account. They have an order in place on the new site and creating a new account on the old site won't help me.

Ok. Didn't notice that you created your first account on a new page. You could try clicking on old site forgotten my password and see what happens, but probably nothing happens.
If you ordered some of their new products on a new page, signing in on the old one doesn't do anything anyway, as data has not been transfered to old site.

Don't know whether to cry or not. Knowing that your PayPal ID was greater than mine, has they already dealt with mine and there was no worries, as I've gotten no e-mails, or are those things totally messed up now and they deal with orders as they come.

Don't get me wrong, I am in no way condoning their actions. Was just trying to point out that they were not selling any of their other stuff during this time (except for non-CSW, CSP V.2 stuff people may have ordered at the same time).

You are forgetting that Fanatec sell lots of other wheels, pedals, and accessories. Those are the lost revenue I am referring to.

The "Out of Stock" being discussed here and relayed by Thomas' blog only refers to the limited stock of CSW, CSW Rims and CSP V.2. that were put up for sale on the new site that failed.

The old site selling all of their other wares was down for the entire time too.

Not sure what to tell you there, hopefully your order just had no problems so they didn't need to e-mail you. Being that you are in Europe though, they are probably handling our orders separately, so I don't think the order number matters. Remember Thomas said they have separate stock in Europe and North America.

I just wanted to share the update so other people (like yourself) could be aware of what's going on with other people in the same position.

The old account only contains info on previous orders and the older equipment, up through CSR-E wheels and pedals. It doesn't have any info on the CSW/CSP equipment, or orders.

I ordered the CSP V2 and received a conformation from PayPal #798 but my actual PayPal account has not been debited for the order. I provided the PayPal receipt to Fanatec as requested in an email. I received an email indicating that they had received the correspondence but have heard nothing more from them.

They obviously have a lot of individual orders to go through and try to straighten out before they can ship anything out.

The old sites back up and running. Just made my order of the CSR pack so please ignor my previous rant.

thanks for the info.

I see that the CSPV2 are listed on the "new-old site" so that may mean they have a good stock of this item? I hope cause I ordered a set!
:)

Already got my tracking number from UPS and apparently I should be seeing my CSR XL pack on the 13th (Friday) which I'll be over the moon if it does....happy days.
