It depends, if you own X360 and Forza then it's not, othervise you could get CSW. In my opinion, Elite is better value for your money and for the rest of the money you could buy CSP v2. How this helps.
I'm using only rFactor 2 and iRacing few times.
thanks

This is a forum about Hardware and steering wheel so your post is inappropriate👎👎👎

Well, some would argue that using a suggestive photo of a female anatomy with no other reference to the person is also inappropriate and highly offensive especially in context of the forum (Sim Racing Hardware).

Any photo of a big as...will be never inappropriate:)

Ok. Iracing people then have higher priority.

 I hope you are being sarcastic. Fanatec has no way of knowing what or where you race when you order. I'm just assuming the US store has some stock in and they are waiting to update the website once the formula rim gets back in stock.

CSW is worth it to me just because the GT wheel is sooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the CSR-Elite wheel.
It's a shame that a fantastic steering wheel as the CSE-elite had such poor wheel:tdown:

Is the CSR-elite modable?is there some adapter that gives thr possibility to use after market wheels like the DSD adapter for the T500 rs?

Are people in the U.S. still waiting for their orders?

I wouldn't think so because 2 people just posted on the iracing forums in the clubsport owners thread and said they both ordered their wheels couple days ago and both of them have tracking numbers with their wheels on the way yet fanatec told me they are out of stock and will be back in septemeber . The formula rim is still out of stock, but they have base's and bmw rims apparently.

People use their real names on the iRacing forum, so yes actually it is easy for them to know.

Iit is not that hard to tell if Fantec if it helps with the order. If there was a logical reason why some got wheels so quickly, Fanatec should come out and say it. I am still waiting for a round light rim for either of wheels. Maybe it is just that US market is on higher priority? Problems with cargo? Fanatec order system is running a lottery? :)

There was a kind of announcement in their Facebook site, if I remember correctly.

Something like: "maybe we will have a surprise for customers with estimated delivery in September, but no more promises because we learned our lesson"

This might explain the "out of stock" although some units have been shipped.

I ordered 2 days after the new site fiasco... and still have not received my CSW. I was told on site it will be delivered on september, then on an email that maybe on august... anyway... still on backorder :)

is my first comment in the forum, here in Portugal unfortunately nobody has a csw therefore not be able to share my enthusiasm when purchasing the new csw.
Today I deposited in the account paypal 740euros for the new csw until I fell chins

I'm super excited about the wheel, I hope I am not disappointed with it because of the investment, it is good that it will last some 30 years

My Formula rim paddle shifter spring broke and I am waiting for a replacement spring from Fanatec. I sent an email to Fanatec asking about the new springs and they said they will be shipped out (to effected parties) "very soon". That was 10 days ago.

As I understand it Fanatec has a Europe shipping depot and a U.S. shipping depot. So one depot may have stock and not the other. I ordered the BMW GT rim to keep me going with the CSW and it is in stock (U.S.) and arriving on next Monday.

I believe someone said that Fanatec sites do have the Formula rims in the warehouse, but they are the first production batch that have the old shifter paddle springs. Once the new shifter paddle springs arrive at the depots they will replace the old shifter paddle springs with the new improved shifter paddle springs(?).

all of this is hearsay so the info may be incorrect!

FYI Fanatec has determined that my base needs to be replaced. I hope they are able to determine what the exact cause of the problem was. Hopefully base #2 lasts longer than base #1.

 I agree. Do you guys really think that that fanatec screens their customers before they buy to see what they race? I'm on iracing so I know that it uses your real name so if they wanted they could look of course. I highly doubt fanatec could care less about where you race or if you race at all long as you buy their products. Everybody's money spends the same.

I guess I'll add gas to the fire for the conspiracy theorist out there lol. I ordered my csw base and bmw rim yesterday and this morning I got the "Your order will be shipped now" email from fanatec. I haven't received the tracking number yet, but it will probably come later on today I would guess. That's how it normally works when I've order from fanatec in the past. I'm 3 hours ahead of the US distributor out in CA so it's not even lunch time there yet. I just think the US warehouse has some stock and they just haven't updated the web store until they get the formula rim squared away.

That's awesome! You got a pre-production piece at half price and they are replacing it with a full production piece. Sounds to me like that's pretty good service and they're covering the warranty for those who were community testers. Not a bad deal :)
I've been using mine for the better part of a month and no squeaks or creaks so far :)

Noooo...

fanatec hates me.. they took my money! they don't want to sell to me!

hahah :P

nah... i hope i get my email soon... ordered from fanatec usa too and paid to Paypal on Jul 11... :P

Thats good.

I have very similar problem but i cant say i have the same problem as i cant be sure. I hope i will get mine sorted out soon too, coming sunday will be 2 weeks since it broke.

My CSW was the full production wheel and used less than a month max 2 hours a day.

Got my tracking number tonight. I'll have my csw next wednesday 👍. Guess I'll wait on the formula rim to get in stock before I try to order it. Glad to finally get this wheel because I've been through 6 different wheels in the past year so this will be the last one. I like my csr elite, but want those extra features of the csw since I just race on pc now.

Does anybody else here use fanaleds on pc? I just downloaded it tonight mainly for the csw because I thought that was all it worked on. For anybody that hasn't heard of it what it does is makes your led tuning screen on your fanatec wheel do different things like a gear indicator, gear and speed, fuel, it will flash the gear when it's time to shift and etc. It also has options to where the wheel will vibrate when the wheels lock under braking, vibrate when it's time to up shift and also make the vibration on your clubsport pedals work as well, but I still use the same plug in I've been using for iracing, because it wouldn't work up there on the fanaleds for some reason.

Awesome! I hope you like your new wheel!

I should check out the Fanaleds. I only have used the CSW on iRacing and all of the lights worked until last week when they released the new build. It did not bother me too much since I use a MSPEC shiftlight. It sounds like the Fanaleds does so much more! thanks for the info.

" I am currently looking to buy the CSW and BMW wheel to go with it.
However, I have heard that the BMW wheel is just a bit too heavy and will not give you a great FFB feel over the formula wheel".
Comments please?!

I have heard and seen raw performance data. My conclusion is that it is too heavy. T500RS has closely the speed of the CSW F1 rim. That is what expect from wheel like CSW, not any slower. I am postponing purchase because of this and that I still have a working fanatec wheel, turbo S(with round leather rim).

This will only work if fanatec makes a rim with no metal. Also the more the mass of the wheel is further from the center the slower it will spin.

Out of curiosity Raitz, ever have ANYTHING positive to say?

Cheers,

Ant

The CSW is phenomenal in more ways than one, rim(s) is/are excellent! They make my new Jetta's rim feel paltry to the touch....

I think it's unfair to VW when you compare the steering wheel of the budget Jetta to what you'd find in $400-$500K race car :)

Also a lot of other reviewers also questioned Fanatec's decision to go with a heavier built wheel. It would've been different if, for example, the CSW is capable of producing higher torque and/or has lower inherent damping/reistance (due to being belt driven).

Here's the irony. The two guys using Leo Bodnar's elusive high torque servo motor setup are using theirs with the G25's (stock) rims.

I am not here please you :) I will speak my mind and not spare words. As for fanatec, there is a big list of positive things which have been mentioned by nearly everybody multiple times. Let me jog your memory:

+They innovate
+They have strong fan base and community involvement
+Best wheel is the next wheel
+They develop wheel after the launch
+They support competitor pedalset(g25 and g27)
+Wheels have superior adjustability
+Superior software support compared to t500rs (no g25 mode in t500rs)
+Thomas has a sense of humour
