Yeah the issue with the monitors may be a factor for some, I know those gloves I have will not work with the ipad. Still though it is likely the settings will be configured pre race say for Simcommander and the touch-screen set to diisplay a speedo/race info etc or whatever it is being used for.

I personally want to use DSD and RMK switch boxes I bought for a nicer feeling (to me anyways) physical switch/button.

That's cool. My touch monitors are just for SimVibe and motion software (E69 currently). I don't think I'll be using a button box now as there's plenty of buttons on the CSW rims :)

Yeah I just edited in between posts the same thing...

I want bling looks though for the cockpit and a racey theme/styling.

I only got a couple of hours in and haven't really scratched the surface with the settings but it's such a massive jump from my trusty old CSR :).......

Good to hear. Mine is in shipping department now. I am also upgrading from the CSR to the CSW although i've only had the CSR for 4 weeks. Hope my CSW is good to go! 👍

I had to play around and enjoy the excitement so took this quick race inspired photo...

btw Steve gloves can be small fitting, just a heads up.

Looking good! I think i'll need a pair of gloves now. Not sure what to get though. Was thinking just some Mechanix gloves or something.

Gloves, lots of types but you want comfort and something not too thick.
If spending this on rims you should consider something pretty decent...

I'm surprised Fanatec haven't looked at offering a branded pair for customers and what about the wall/desk wheel holders?

Yeah, I can't leave well enough alone. I also am waiting for my Z1 LCD Dashboard to be ready as well.

Can you point me in a direction on where to look for gloves?

Can anyone who has recently purchased CSP V.2s tell me if they no longer come with both 800 and 1200 viscosity oil before I attempt to contact Fanatec tech support?

CSP V.2 Product Web Page/What's Included on the USA Fanatec Web Shop site offers no clues.

I just opened one we purchased in Oct. for resale, the still sealed bag only contains one 1200 tube.

Prior units we have purchased included both.

Either way, guess I will find out when the next set of CSP V.2s arrives here tomorrow or Monday.

One thing I did find surprising was the thickness of the GT rim, I assumed it would be thicker actually.
I'm really looking forward to having a 'wall' of rims ;)

The older rims felt chunkier because of their size maybe? The CSW feels great though just got to keep my hands away from Pringles etc when using or stick to the gloves.

Anyways I compared it to my Momo and while the "Trek R" is a bigger rim (350mm) in thickness they are very similar.

Heres some comparisons not likely shown much before if it is any use or interest to some guys on the forums. Tonight I actually built a RSWS I bought last year on the "Black Friday" as had this kept for the CSW coming.

Great to see the new drivers with extra features....
Looking forward to giving mine a whirl at the weekend.

The T500 sits much more forward with the DSD adapter, just another issue a cockpit build may need to overcome for anyone considering using both wheels.

Why 3 stands, well for simple setup for comparing or if having mates over was the idea for when my room/cockpit gets finished.

I need some opinions on where to go and will do my best to explain where I am vs where I want to go because it's between G27 with load cell or CSR XL package with elite pedals or just pedals.

I use a DFGT right now and when it actually works right I don't have issues with it and like the feel overall (could be less twitchy or jerky but FFB is heavy which I like). I so far prefer a heavier feel or like all the bumps etc while some don't but I don't mind having to actually work a little to turn. The pedals actually don't seem to bother me and nor do I feel slow me up after doing the cheap rubber ball under the pedal to add some resistance, I'm sure not close to load cell but doesn't seem position based as much for me.

Now I pretty much only oval race now which is a combination of what I'm comfortable with and lack of rememebering tracks. Overall it seems like the CSR package with elite pedals would be a big upgrade but I don't want to be replacing load cells ever few months either. Smoother feedback would be nice addition with it being constant too not so much the feel of the motors working. I don't really care about noise as normally don't hear it or let it bother me. I've thought about keeping my wheel and finding a set of pedals or just making the jump to all new stuff now.

I got my CSP's about a month ago and only got 1 bottle of oil. Dont know its viscosity though.

Thanks for the reply, I think they may have changed over to one bottle then.

Clarification by Fanatec next time they are in here would be most appreciated.

I'm trying to update my CSW to the new 144 driver and I kepp getting the same message

" One or more property sheets have been left open. Please close them first, then uninstall again"
This is coming up during the Fanatec wheel installer.
Then after you close that another screen comes up saying " There is a problem with the windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact support"

I need help please.

Figured it out. I posted this after an hour of trying to get it and turned of Fanaleds and it worked.

Has anyone tested the latest CSW FW/Drivers with GT5 to see if the rev lights work?

OK. New firmware loaded and I can confirm that not only do the rev LED's work for GT5, but they also work on F1 2012 for the PS3. Very cool! ;-)

Of course the LED's are much bigger on the F1 rim therefore more impressive, but it's still cool to see them on the BMW rim.

Nice update, hopefully more of the rims functions can be implemented over time too for PS3. Like the rotary encoder? :)

How did you find the FFB compared between the T500 on GT5 and the CSW?
Also has the smoother operation of the CSW with V2 pedals aided you in beating past lap times you set with the T500?

Thanks for the pics Mr Latte..you really have some great stuff and so much of it 👍

I tried some 'thin' motorbike gloves last night and the difference was cool. It took a while to get used to it as at first I felt I was losing some of the immersion because I couldn't feel everything through the wheel that I was used to, but after a while it felt great.

The FFB on the T500 was brutal and raw, but on the CSW it's also very brutal lol I had hoped to keep the T500 a while longer to compare the two but that wasn't possible.
Also like Henk I've had issue's with my CSW'S from day one and I'm on my 4th or 5th replacement base. I can't be sure now I've lost count lol Fanatec CS has been very good at trying to help so I seen no reason to be moaning on the forums about it.
So having a period of solid race time with a fully functioning wheel has been limited.
The motors failed in all my bases, some after only a few laps some took a few days and unfortunately it feels like this base is going the same way. It hasn't been used properly since it arrived. It was replaced a couple of weeks ago and the BMW rim was very loose fitting so they sent out a replacement spring and that solved the fitting. Although that is with the screw in place. Without the screw its still loose on both rims.
The smooth belt driven wheel does not feel smooth and starts to cog with use and gets continually worse until it feels like turning broken bearings.
2 months in and I haven't had more that a day or two of faultless motoring, excuse the pun lol.
When working its great, and my breaking is probably a lot smoother though I can't be certain how much quicker I am atm

Thanks and your welcome, eventually I will get to enjoy my last 2-3 years of purchases properly and delays / changing ideas on my own build. The technology and showing/discussing it is part of the hobby for me too.

"Carson The Destroyer" :)
Only joking but damn you ain't had much luck.
You have me a little worried now...

4 or 5 in a row?!?

:( I'm sorry you are having to go through that and wish you the best of luck.

I pretty sure this is number five, and it will need to go back. I'll wait until Monday morning to email support as the video I took earlier didn't pick up the fault. It's noticeable to me all the signs are there, cogging feeling, loss of FFB and EAU DE burntoutmotor lol
I'm sure from past base's that after a few more laps over the weekend and the problem will get worse and become more noticeable on camera.

Yeah mate no luck with stuff since I started spending big on this hobby. I never had any problems when it was just the one PS3, one TV and the DFGT lol

@ Basher Thanks, its taken the shine off it altogether now.
Up until now I'd been hopeful and optimistic. But it's getting to the "I'm really starting to get P****D off stage

I'd say that hopefully you've had your fair share of bad ones now. Maybe everyone should be thanking you for taking one (or 5) for the team. Those wheels could have just as easily ended up in someone else's hands...

I'm gonna send you a PM. (right after I finish shipping the 11 SFA1 orders from yesterday) hehe

I was thinking the same thing after 3/4 that I must be getting all the faulty ones lol cause there was only happy satisfied customers and no complaints on here anyway.
Even the UPS guy thought it was bad the amount of times he'd been back lol and he knew exactly how many replacements I'd had!
Hopefully the next one will in fact be the last

Chin up matey...
Very unfortunate, can only be from a bad batch as I have not seen widespread issues of these.

If Thomas reads this and if he would oblige. I would be very interested in being able to loan a faulty CSW base. Or even buy one that is a dud so that I would be allowed to dismantle for a full look into the working of these wheels to show the high quality that does go into them.

Also the product like others will get improved and revised within the manufacturing so I hope these instances are linked to a faulty batch of components from a supplier rather than down to poor product design or manufacturing.

Some may remember I kinda did a look inside last year with the Elite but never fully reviewed it against the T500 and CSW. Come to think of it I havnt seen anyone do such a review/comparison? I brought up the moving belt issue last year as a pre-release or previous video Thomas done mentioned being able to tighten them. Of course that's something the retail product is not recommended to do. At least now (finally) I am in the position to do this and as the drivers are much further developed too. The question is are their many folk who care or would want to see/read about such as already their are plenty of seperate reviews available...

Just a thought...
