I received my new CSPs from Fanatec a couple of days ago and had both bottles of oil - both 800 and 1200.
Hmm thats odd. Oh well i don't care, i wouldn't think it would make a big difference.

I pretty sure this is number five, and it will need to go back. I'll wait until Monday morning to email support as the video I took earlier didn't pick up the fault. It's noticeable to me all the signs are there, cogging feeling, loss of FFB and EAU DE burntoutmotor lol
I'm sure from past base's that after a few more laps over the weekend and the problem will get worse and become more noticeable on camera.
Yeah mate no luck with stuff since I started spending big on this hobby. I never had any problems when it was just the one PS3, one TV and the DFGT lol
@ Basher Thanks, its taken the shine off it altogether now.
Up until now I'd been hopeful and optimistic. But it's getting to the "I'm really starting to get P****D off stage
Unbelievable Mark,
As you know i have issues with my CSW too from the very minute i opened the box. Too much play on the QR.
Those who have seen the videos will agree.
I have been on the phone with Fanatec support 4 times this week, still they refuse too swap my wheelbase and formula rim. I need to send it in to a local technician who will take a look at it. The BMW rim will be replaced.
Although i am confident that Fanatec will solve this, i really don't like having to send a new wheel back for repairs and not getting a replacement:tdown:
That's a quick upgrade.... 👍
Gloves, lots of types but you want comfort and something not too thick.
If spending this on rims you should consider something pretty decent...
For anyone in the USA I use these from Home Depot. http://cache.vendaria.com/integrati...309&cf=12000&purl=sys_homedepot_uid_202188309 Basically the same as Steve described and for $10 fit just about anyones budget. At first I didnt much care for using gloves, but now it doesnt feel right without them.
My son came home from work Friday evening as I was messing around with gloves and racing. I walked into the kitchen and there he was standing there with his work gloves on, which I promptly took off him to try. They were perfect. I assume they're like the mechanics ones people mention.
They're fingerless gloves with fingers They're synthetic leather and neoprene mix, nice and thin, but best thing is the thumb, and first 2 fingers tops on each glove are missing for using various tools..and perfect for me to twiddle rotary switches, press buttons and of course use my touchscreens Really was an omen..so he's getting me some for Christmas
Much like these
Yeah Steve those look quite good and at a decent price.
On a Fanatec matter how is your CSW smelling and any slack/movement on your rims?
Thanks to Mr Carson for coming over today, seen first hand his issue.
I've blue screened twice now since I got my CSW during iRacing. They've been pretty far apart but both were during races. Both times the wheel started pulling right pretty hard and all FF stopped excpet for the constant pulling to the right,l.

I just use my EMS winter gloves. Honestly, my hands cannot tell the difference between that and nomex. Boiling is boiling.
My wheel seems fine and no slack with rims. Yesterday we set up two wheels on wheel stands running two projectors just on a wall with approx 65-70" screens. The only thing Carson and myself noticed was the smell, particularly with both his and mine running beside each other. Slight electrical smell was very noticeable.
Particularly when I went out for a nice wee coffee and bag of minstrels, coming back in the thick odour was in the air almost like some race inspired "brake dust" scented candle....
Put 2 hours steady on the wheel tonight just in GT5 and absolutely loving it including how the different rims can change the wheel and driving sensation. The smell also seems to be not as bad but still noticeable...

I got my CSP's about a month ago and only got 1 bottle of oil. Dont know its viscosity though.
Hmm thats odd. Oh well i don't care, i wouldn't think it would make a big difference.
The smell was really strong with mine too when i first got it. I don't notice it anymore though. I don't know if I'm use to it or it doesn't do it anymore.
Any updates on your wheel? Does it still work, and have you tried other games than iracing?
I haven't tried any other games but iRacing. I might have spent a few minutes with Pcars but it looked awful on triple screens so I gave up.
The wheel still works fine. I think it's a windows problem. I'm thinking about doing a fresh install and see if that fixes some problems. I had a weird thing going on last night with far cry 3. Once I started thinking about it I have had a few weird issues outside of the steering wheel blue screen.
I'm going to try to spend some time today and do a little maintanace and see if it gets my system running a little smoother.
