I pretty sure this is number five, and it will need to go back. I'll wait until Monday morning to email support as the video I took earlier didn't pick up the fault. It's noticeable to me all the signs are there, cogging feeling, loss of FFB and EAU DE burntoutmotor lol
I'm sure from past base's that after a few more laps over the weekend and the problem will get worse and become more noticeable on camera.

Yeah mate no luck with stuff since I started spending big on this hobby. I never had any problems when it was just the one PS3, one TV and the DFGT lol

@ Basher Thanks, its taken the shine off it altogether now.
Up until now I'd been hopeful and optimistic. But it's getting to the "I'm really starting to get P****D off stage

Unbelievable Mark,:ouch:

As you know i have issues with my CSW too from the very minute i opened the box. Too much play on the QR.

Those who have seen the videos will agree.

I have been on the phone with Fanatec support 4 times this week, still they refuse too swap my wheelbase and formula rim. I need to send it in to a local technician who will take a look at it. The BMW rim will be replaced.

Although i am confident that Fanatec will solve this, i really don't like having to send a new wheel back for repairs and not getting a replacement:tdown:

That sucks Henk, I wouldn't be happy with that either. We pay a lot of money and for there to be problems out of the box Fanatec should be issuing you with replacements. Unless they think the play in the rim is acceptable

If it is faulty on arrival you should be entitled to a replacement or refund, may depend/vary on your regions trading laws.

Makes you question however why one rule for you and another customer, Mark can get 4 replacements with none of this return for fixing nonsense. I understand he agreed to replace a spring but really this is their top end product that people pay top money for and are probably even more critical to obtaining what they paid for yet getting a good service and better than we are seeing (in both your cases) quality/control.

Here you go, their own stated Terrms & Conditions
See No. 10

Come on Fanatec sort it out...

That's a quick upgrade.... 👍
Gloves, lots of types but you want comfort and something not too thick.
If spending this on rims you should consider something pretty decent...

My son came home from work Friday evening as I was messing around with gloves and racing. I walked into the kitchen and there he was standing there with his work gloves on, which I promptly took off him to try. They were perfect. I assume they're like the mechanics ones people mention.

They're fingerless gloves with fingers :D They're synthetic leather and neoprene mix, nice and thin, but best thing is the thumb, and first 2 fingers tops on each glove are missing for using various tools..and perfect for me to twiddle rotary switches, press buttons and of course use my touchscreens ;) Really was an omen..so he's getting me some for Christmas :)

Much like these

+1. Got a pair and for the price you can't beat'em. Really helps to maintain the Alcantara on the rims, and the finger-less tips are a must for me in order to operate the buttons and dials.

Steve I was actually thinking about getting these for work. And have just pulled the trigger on two pairs of mechanics one for work and one for the csw. I'm thinking those would have been better suited the csw now

Also I tried Mr Latte's on today, and their very good I have to say. Only his were a little small for my hands , they definitely are something I'd consider.

Yeah Steve those look quite good and at a decent price.

On a Fanatec matter how is your CSW smelling and any slack/movement on your rims?
Thanks to Mr Carson for coming over today, seen first hand his issue.

No smell from my CSW so far and no slack either.

I already posted this in the iracing thread but don't know if it's an iracing problem so i'm puttin it here too.

I've blue screened twice now since I got my CSW during iRacing. They've been pretty far apart but both were during races. Both times the wheel started pulling right pretty hard and all FF stopped excpet for the constant pulling to the right, then about about half a lap later I blue screen. Anyone have any ideas?

The first time it was with the driver and firmware that came with my wheel, this time it was with the latest firmware and driver.

I think these are the only blue screens I have ever had when things were at stock settings. I use to get them every now and then when i would try and OC stuff, but I haven't done that in over a year. Both times it has happened the same way. Playing iracing and the wheel starts pulling to the right then i blue screen.

I don't know if this is an iracing or wheel driver problem, because iracing is the only game i play with the wheel, and it hasn't happened unless I'm using the wheel.

I had this when turbo S wheel lost connection via wireless dongle. I do not use dongle anymore. Seems like something brakes connection to the wheel. I would try with PS3 if the same happens to find out whether is is platform specific.

I just use my EMS winter gloves. Honestly, my hands cannot tell the difference between that and nomex. Boiling is boiling.

I've come to start to use Titleist(Golf) Players Gloves. They are the smoothest leather for a golf glove, and feel amazing while racing! The gloves are +-$20US each, bringing the set to $40US.

It was a random try and find on my part. Works great, and does not wear out the alcantara nearly as fast.

Thomas just posted on Facebook. That new firmware is out for CSW base !

Fanatec We have a new firmware available for the ClubSport Base with the following changes: • LED rev lights supported in PS3 games • Alternative button combination to switch to PS3 mode (select + the button in the middle between select and start) • Improved initialisiation routine • More steady FF characteristics • Better linearity of FF signals • New updater • New fan control

Please use this firmware only with driver 144 which is included in this package as well. Changes: • Fixed an issue with RBR • Combined pedal mode added (for compatibility with WRC 3) Please use this driver only with CSW or with PWX and CSR wheels with firmware of 750 or higher. More firmware updates for other models to follow soon.

You can download the formware and driver from our new website:

My wheel seems fine and no slack with rims. Yesterday we set up two wheels on wheel stands running two projectors just on a wall with approx 65-70" screens. The only thing Carson and myself noticed was the smell, particularly with both his and mine running beside each other. Slight electrical smell was very noticeable.

Particularly when I went out for a nice wee coffee and bag of minstrels, coming back in the thick odour was in the air almost like some race inspired "brake dust" scented candle....

Put 2 hours steady on the wheel tonight just in GT5 and absolutely loving it including how the different rims can change the wheel and driving sensation. The smell also seems to be not as bad but still noticeable...

The smell was really strong with mine too when i first got it. I don't notice it anymore though. I don't know if I'm use to it or it doesn't do it anymore.

Ive never noticed any smell from mine. I did check for a smell for the first week, never smelt anything so stopped checking. Ive also never felt the air blowing out get warm either though.

I received my new CSPs from Fanatec a couple of days ago and had both bottles of oil - both 800 and 1200.

I got my CSP's about a month ago and only got 1 bottle of oil. Dont know its viscosity though.

Hmm thats odd. Oh well i don't care, i wouldn't think it would make a big difference.

Thanks for the replies, guys. :)

Silver-Sylph; I totally understand your end-user purchaser's perspective.

However, its a bit different in my case as I send CSP V.2s to folks outside of Fanatec's shipping realm, they will question the pack-in inconsistencies.

The CSP V.2s I received today only included one 1200 viscosity flask, as did the CSP V.2s I received last month.
All other CSP V.2s I received prior had two flasks.

So I am now presuming that Fanatec is only including one 1200 visc. flask.
Will contact Fanatec tech support to obtain confirmation.

Its instances like this where 🤬 silence on the thread is deafening.
This question was posted 5 days ago now.

After much debate with myself on next step in wheels or pedals, I think pedals are a better idea than my wheel as I seem to like the DFGT for most part. Now here is my thoughts or concerns.

CSR elites are where I'm priced comfortably at which add load cell and seem like a very nice upgrade from what I run not but the service side makes me worry if I have issue or the load cell going out.

I plan to invert these pedal in Ricmotech rig which will be built during this purchase to get away from desk to more comfy setup.

Any updates on your wheel? Does it still work, and have you tried other games than iracing?

I haven't tried any other games but iRacing. I might have spent a few minutes with Pcars but it looked awful on triple screens so I gave up.

The wheel still works fine. I think it's a windows problem. I'm thinking about doing a fresh install and see if that fixes some problems. I had a weird thing going on last night with far cry 3. Once I started thinking about it I have had a few weird issues outside of the steering wheel blue screen.

I'm going to try to spend some time today and do a little maintanace and see if it gets my system running a little smoother.

Did you try clearing the firmware and then putting the latest version back on?

So I placed my order and it was scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I see now that delivery is scheduled for today which is awesome. Upon looking futher there are 4 packages. Three are on the truck for delivery, while the 4th still says it left CA on 11/30/2012 :( Judging by the weight it is one of the rims.

Don't know why 3 are almost here while the 4th hasn't been updated. Hope it's all OK.

So the setup was completed:

And then this arrived tonight. I'm still waiting for the BMW rim and the LCD for the dashboard gauges.

Let me just say...night and day different than the CSR wheel/pedals. I hope I have no issues. Everything feels so well built and high end/quality.
