Merry Christmas to Thomas and Fanatec! Merry Christmas to everyone who has had fun on this thread as well as kept it alive with new information!

Sorry I've been away for a while guys, nearly a year! :scared: Hopefully I'll be more alive!

So to start making it up to all you guys, I'm going to update the front page. I'll need a little bit of your guy's help though, so post up some suggestions for the front page!

Merry Christmas to all of you, I'll be back more frequently for you guys! Thanks!

That's mean, Thomas. And on Christmas day no less. How dare you tease us with the F1 rim! Sly guy. lol

Merry Christmas to you too and the rest of Fanatec.

Also a very merry Christmas to everyone else.

It may be more of a dash like SLI-Pro rather than a complete rim.

I know only 1 displays that is able to do 16 sections per digits like that
SLI-F1
Look at the "y" and the "n". Leo bodnar been dealing with fanatec? Merry christmas

I'm sure if fanatec wanted to create there own LCD display it wouldn't be THAT hard so I don't think we can assume its a Sli F1.

If they wanted to create their own LCD Display? You can erase the word "if".. They WILL create their own LCD Display.. just open the CSW Quick Guide and look what can be attached to the data port... very similar to what was shown in this christmas video ;)

Those LED displays are widely available in various colors and sizes. Just like individual LEDS being widely available as well.
So that's no indication for a contract with Bodnar. ;)

Maybe I should use my Arduino plus LCD display to make a little dash for fun sake. Hmmm...

Frohe Weihnachten to the whole Fanatec team.
Thank you for some awesome hours in 2012 ;)

Oh very very nice . You guys might be right . Arduino, what i meant though the digit side not the led, anyway love to speculate , gets me excited :D

Those digits are led displays as they are called.
They consist of 14 segments per display in this case.
More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourteen-segment_display

Anyhow... I am looking too much into this stuff myself right now for a project of mine. So I better get to it again after some sleep.

I did enjoy the light show though. ;)
Makes me wonder what Thomas will do for new years. Make a tailpipe with flamethrowermfor on our rigs... You know, for the fireworks. lol

enjoyed every second of that light show. good job.
must've looked at a wrong thing though I could swear it's a glimpse of SLI-F1.
either way it's a win win for simracers when they are released. 👍👍

I'm 99.9% sure that's what it is. I asked Thomas about how progress is going with the F1 rim and he said they haven't even started development on it yet. This was about two months ago.

Anyone had problems with CSW in ps3 mode in GT5 when start button isnt working? Restarting the wheel works and changing to controller for start button works to but annoying when u want to leave practice to make setup changes.

Are you saying the start button does not work at all on your CSW or it doesn't work in GT5?

Very nice indeed 👍

I saw the dash a couple of weeks ago on the Iracing forums.
It's pretty expensive though, both buttonbox and display will set you back an estimated 600 bucks. :)

Love it.......
I bet there are some people wishing they they had waited on this instead of buying some other button boxes

Ah, I new I seen it somewhere
This is the one you emailed me 👍

At $400 for whats in the second picture I dont think there will be that many people regreting their purchase. It does look very nice though.

It's cheaper to make one yourself. Even if it's based on a wood frame.
The buttons and switches could be hooked up to a Leo Bodnar controller and your done. And for less money I reckon.

CSW base just died. I was playing SRW and it just shut off (I have been experiencing this pretty frequently with GT5 over the past week). When I turned it back on I heard a loud beep (never a good sign). To me it sounds like something electronic has failed.

It turns on but when the wheel rims are connected they do not register any inputs. Both rims do not work and I know (hope to God) they didn't just both magically break at exactly the same time. I flashed the firmware to see if that would fix it but it did not. I cannot even realign the wheel because the tuning menu button does not work. Kinda of a bummer.

CSPv2 also seem to have a dodgy accelerator sensor. I figured out that the erratic ghosting I have been experiencing has been is due to the wire that attaches to the sensor being loose. Sometimes the pedals ghosts and I have to nudge the wire to make it stop.

Feel for you man, I think this is the 2nd time you had your stuff conk right before the weekend.

Hope you get it sorted out quick so you can get back to what you do very well (racing).

A guy I know in Brazil, just had similar problem, he said FFB went, then followed by PSU failure.

Thanks. Yeah this is the second time. The first was a bad motor. I kind forgive that as it was still the beta unit. The one that broke now is a production one.

As a side note I definitely met my match last weekend. I raced some guy from a Mexican GT5 league... first time I have lost more than 3 straight head to head races in a row. Guy was amazing in low power cars.

Update 2: Apparently the glitch is so bad that it freezes the PC driver menu when you try to do a LED, FFB, or vibration test.

Feel for you man, it always sucks when something like this happens.👎
I thinking Fanatec is more and more starting to repair wheels rather than just simply replacing them. Guess you will find out soon it enough.

Ik looks like we won't see a full CSW F1 rim before somewhere mid to end 2014 at the earliest.

Thomas Jackermeier2
Unfortunately the F1 rim will still take some time as we just started the development so it will take at least one more year.

Taking in account that the still not released F1 rim for the CSR Elite was expected in Q3 of this year, i won't be supprised if we won't see a full F1 rim for the CSW untill early 2015 :(

I think your right Henk, I was on my fifth replacement and when that failed they asked for it back for inspection/repair ......Replaced the motor and returned it to me.
It really spoils the whole excitement fun factor of getting new gear when they need replaced only to then need the replacements replaced :nervous:
Fingers crossed this base is holding up. Although since I've gotten the extra xboxes I've been enjoying Forza and my other Fanatec wheel which hasn't missed a beat! :)
@paskowitz
Hope your wheel gets replaced/repaired quick. In my experience the Fanatec CS is pretty good and the turnaround isn't than long. even from Germany to N.Ireland it usually only takes 4 working days
