No, they don't. Only official Sony licensed hardware does have PS-buttons on it. So speaking of steering wheels, only Logitech DFGT and Thrustmaster T500 RS have a PS-button.

Check this out:

Very nice indeed 👍

I saw the dash a couple of weeks ago on the Iracing forums.
It's pretty expensive though, both buttonbox and display will set you back an estimated 600 bucks. :)

Love it.......
I bet there are some people wishing they they had waited on this instead of buying some other button boxes

Nice concept, saw this a couple of weeks ago too.

It basically looks like a faceplate that bolts onto the CSW...
...with button boxes on each side...
...and digital rev. meter/read outs display on top.

Cannot understand the estimated $400 to $600 mentioned though...
...unless it has some yet-to-be-disclosed CSW data-port integration functionality.

Similar design could be easily replicated on wheel bases that have no built-in mounts by using an L-bracket to mount the faceplate to whatever the wheel's base is mounted to.

Would not be surprised if other button box providers aren't busily scurrying about their design tools now.

One potential draw-back to consider regarding this approach is the combined weight...
...of the faceplate/button boxes/display array and Wheel on a rig's wheel deck supports.
So the lighter it is, the better.

Reason: not all rigs have the same type of wheel deck supports.
For example, desk or shelf-type wheel decks like the VisonRacer, GamePod etc. have lots of support, so no problem.

Whereas, wheel decks like the Bob Earl, rSeat Evo, Playseat, RaceRoom and etc. that have less structural support, will have added stress, and possibly more wiggle, rattle, and shake depending on the added weight.

There's another *MUCH* cheaper and more functional option that will be available to us all soon from someone else. I should be receiving my prototype soon for test fitting, I'll post pictures once I get the ok from them.

I have one of these on Pre-order but would love to know what other options are coming. Please post some pics and more info when you can.

I've never understood why the "PS button" was a big deal to anyone myself. If you have a PS3, you must have something that has the button on it. It might take a minute to get to it or turn it on, but that button is not something you need to have constant access to at a moments notice. The "windows" key on a keyboard works for it so it should be easy enough to add, but it probably isn't considered important by anyone but Sony.

I updated the OP, tell me what you guys think!

So, those with the CSW, how is it?

And I saw earlier that there was an F1 rim on a CSR Elite, is it possible to purchase and then place the BMW GT2 rim on the CSR Elite?

Now OP has some relevance other than being the first post of the thread. Thanks for your effort!

I hope Fanatec gets the CSS bugs sorted and thing on the web store. It has been soooo long that I even have used manual shifter in sim racing. I had the fanatec standard shifter but I sold that with one wheel and hoped that they CSS released close to CSW.

Nice update :)

As far as te CSW is concerned it's a great base and the two rims have been awesome to race with. I primarily use the BMW rim with GT5 and the F-1 rim with F1 2012. Before using the CSW I used a G25 and every Logitech wheel before it. The CSW to me brings a whole new level of immersion and it feels great. If you're only playing PS3 driving games it's a bit much, but there's no doubt it's amazing given you're willing to spend the coin. The new firmware to get LED functionality out of GT5 and F1 is a nice touch :sly:

No you can't place the rim on the elite. Or maybe you can but with serious modding 👍

Good work on the op btw.

That's partly right.
You can change the wheel on the CSR-E very easy (two screws and two sockets), given that Fanatec finally releases a new wheel rim.
On the other part you're right, modding the wheel takes quite an effort but it's not impossible.

To the OP, thank you for the update, looks great :)
And the CSR-E will get a seperate F1 rim without the quick release of CSW.

Thanks for your guy's comments on the OP! I'll be adding any new information!

Maybe Fanatec will make a GT Wheel Rim for the CSR Elite?

I'm pretty sure they said the formula rim will be the only option for the Elite

At about 200$ a piece it seems like good business for Fanatec, why would they not take advantage of it and satisfy the demand. One of the complaint we heard a lot was about the Elite rim not matching the overall quality of the whole package and the Formula rim is too specialized to be the only option.

To get GT you would need to buy CSW so thats 750 compared to the 200 for the rim the 750 is much better business for Fanatec.

eeronmm

Then why release the formula rim for the Elite?
I believe Fanatec knows they will many more people that will buy the rim but will not go to the extreme of selling their wheel to buy the CSW.
It would also open an opportunity to other business to supply the demand of a different, non formula, rim

Maybe the do not want to admit that, or they want to protect CSW as the top wheel, or they are clueless and think formula wheel sells better.

Thomas stated somewhere, that they don't intend to "open" their CSW-platform to 3rd-party-suppliers. Because they want to sell their own add-on-rims, which will be released some day...

He also stated, that there will be no other rim than the Formula rim available for the CSR-E.

Yet another motor in my CSW has started to die.
Take's the count now to six! Five replacements and one returned for repair. That turned out well.......
As pointed out to me by another member before the holidays, If Fanatec know they had a bad batch of motors why are they only replacing one of them in your CSW base instead of them both?
This CSW has not been used more than a couple of hours at the very most since it was "repaired" My new gloves came and I brought it out again.
How can one person have so many bloody motors fail on them, this was getting out of hand after number three!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

Somehow i saw this comming Mark:grumpy:

Did you ask CS about replacing both, like we talked about?

They sent it back before I had the chance mate and with being so busy with work before the holidays it slipped my mind. When I realised it was too late, and I had hoped that the repaired base would be fine.
Email CS in the morning, Jesus this is ridiculous

I think it may be about to time to look elsewhere for the problem. Perhaps something with your power? A grounding issue shorting something out? I'm just throwing out guesses here, but statistically for someone to have 6 replacement parts sent to them and have them all be bad is highly unlikely.

Is there anything that you can think of on your end that may be causing this issue?

That is crazy stuff happening Mark.
What seems weird is your Elite has been fine?

I do not know of how widespread CSW motors have been failing but I do not recall seeing that many people having major issues. Concerned for my own as you know it had a "burn in smell".

It is time Fanatec made a comment regarding the issue.

No I can't. I've got an Elite and it's never had any issue's. Never any real problems with the T500 or the dfgt either.

The Elite is fine, been using it since boxing day as I got two new xbox's only pulled the CSW out last night and I thought I noticed the familiar burning motor smell. And tonight was sure of it and then the grinding when turning right.
I find it hard to believe its something I could be doing.

Have they just been repairing your base? Or have they tried sending you a completely new base yet? Perhaps it's something internally with the base that's not easily detectable that is frying the motors?

With UK law the key factor is goods must be of "Satisfactory Quality"...
Regardless of Fanatec's own TC.

In your case Mark I would persist on a full replacement not a previously repaired or re-repaired unit. It is clear that previous repairs still fail to offer "Satisfactory Quality" and in more than one way you have experienced issues.

It annoys me to read of this, personally I would demand a full replacement or refund and contact fair trading if you have any issues on their part to acknowledge your consumer rights under UK fair trading laws.

I hope Thomas himself personally gets involved in sorting you out.
